Chicago Med - Have you seen those graphics?

One of my favorite shows to watch on Hulu is Chicago Med! Its a show based in the Chicago Emergency Department, and the staff are always dealing with crazy emergencies plus their own personal problems. Its kind of like a modern day soap opera, reminds me of what my mom used to watch, General Hospital. LOL

I have been in the medical field for a little over 10 years, so these kinds of things interest me alot and I just like watching those kinds of shows! My husband on the other hand, cannot watch Chicago Med with me because it gets pretty graphic with the medical procedures they do!!

They make everything look so incredibly real when they have to do crazy emergency surgeries or life threatening procedures, i think that's why my husband can't stomach it. I find it super cool, and I have been mind blown about how the graphics are just so accurate and real, I wonder how they get it to look so real?

Its obviously fake, but how do they do it, is it animated on a computer? Is it just like silicone replicas? Does anyone know? LOL

Thanks all!

I haven't seen Chicago Med and I don't think I would be able to watch it. I can't stomach any blood and bits so anything that gets graphic like that is a no go for me.

I remember watching my husband's face as he watched everything they did when they operated on me for my c-section. The only time he went white and looked like he was going to pass out was when he saw out daughter for the first time LOL. All the blood and gross stuff didn't bother him one bit but becoming a father nearly knocked him out!

I really hate this show! I don't know how you watch people getting cut wide open lol. I watch it for like 5 minutes and my stomach feel funny and my chest feels tight. You have seen alot in your days including death. The medical field is no joke i know i could never do it. Personally with the way technology is i wouldn't be surprised if most of it was digital but i could be wrong. They have life like replicas nowadays so maybe its a mixture of both? Their ius a small chance that its all real and these actors are being sacrificed for our viewing pleasure. We need someone on the inside so we can get all the secrets of Hollywood! I wonder if they have any shows that shows this kind of stuff on Netflix or Hulu, That would be awesome lol! Awesome topic i think its great but i still hate Chicago Med. lol!

I bet they're doing a lot of CGI VFX, computer with generated visual effects, probably with the help of mannequins.
I also don't really like medical emergency type movies, the only TV show I've watched in this category was Dr. House. The weren't very graphic but they had cool graphics, especially at the start of every episode.

I am a huge fan of Chicago Med! I watch every new episode as it's aired and love the new episodes they push out every week!

Last October they did a One Chicago Day and each show went live on Facebook showing you how they do things such as with Chicago Fire, how they create the fires and with Chicago Med how they work on patients and make it look so real. They do use dummies so to speak as well as real people. I don't know if you have noticed but on certain scenes when they are due to work on a patient whether it be to insert a tube into their throat or to operate on them, the camera always focuses on something else for a few seconds before going back, that is when they make the switch from a real person to a dummy for them to continue.

It really is clever how they do what they do. If you look on YouTube I am sure there will be a lot of video's on there showing you from the One Chicago Day, really interesting stuff!

I also like Chicago med but not because of the graphics,Lol! I like it because of the story line. I like to see how the staff handle the battles of their daily lifes. I don't necessarily find it toooo graphic. I don't love them but they don't turn me away from watching the TV show. I think maybe they use animals like apes who kind of have the same organs as humans, or maybe the use dead people( I hope not) Or maybe they make props that look like real human organs. It would be interesting to find out what they really do,

It is so funny to watch such programs, especially if you are a doctor and know how it works in life. I understand your questions, graphic is very realistic and even frightening sometimes. However, think that it helps to attract young people to medicine field. I have been watching medical programs all my childhood and I have already known that I would be a doctor in future. exploremedicalcareers.com helped me to find a very nice program to realize my dream. Nowadays I take an internship in an elite private clinic. This forum helps me with socialization Chicago Med - Have you seen those graphics?

In my opinion, this is not something normal. How can government ban health care for people, even though is they are teen transgender. Doctors are doctors, and they made the hypocrites oath, and they must give healthcare to anyone. I understand that they are young, don't really know what they want from life, and maybe they made a decision that they will hate in the future, but this is what they have done with their body, and banning healthcare for them is not normal. Sometimes I think that state Arkansas is not on our planet.

I remember I didn't want to watch it because I've seen Grey's Anatomy before; that was inaccurate. Sometimes I just wanted to scream at the characters. But Chicago Med is more accurate. I know they hired some specialists and doctors to help make up the scenario. They wanted it to be as accurate as possible. I heard they made some actors for the lab staff to finish phlebotomist courses. Since online training for phlebotomists is becoming increasingly popular, it might just be honest. I cannot say how adequate this information is since I got it from another article.
