Easy Kids Activities - Foam Dough

Making playdough is cool but can take a bit of time to do and the one recipe I use involves cooking it which means the kids can't really do it all by themselves.

Now foam dough is a different story and is really fun for the kids to make.

All you need is shaving cream, maizena and food colouring!

Just mix up the shaving cream and maizena in equal parts and then add a little bit of food colouring!

It is a lovely texture and perfect to keep the kids entertained!

this is cool too Lynne! what is maizena though? is this like flour?
how long does this last if its in a container? sounds like another fun recipe to try with the girls!

Yes it is kinda like flour. I am not sure exactly what the difference is between Maizena and Flour. With some recipes, like making a white sauce for example they are interchangeable but I am not sure if you can use Maizena in place of flour when you are making a cake?

This looks like cookies! I wonder if i could eat these? Are they all natural for kids? This seems cool to do but i have hungry kids that like to eat everything so if they see something that looks like cookies we may end up with missing dough. I wonder what the difference in consistency is between this and actual play dough. So many great ideas for parents to explore when it comes to kid activities its amazing. I love the ones like this that are cheap and easy to do. Im with Mike though on the eating part lol im wondering if its edible. Thank You for sharing this.

This is so cool, anything that brings about the happiness of kids is worth engaging in. This happens to be a good useful piece of information and definitely I believe that it would be helpful to most parents who are looking forward to putting smile and laugher on the faces of their children.

Kids loves to eat and play at the same time and I strongly believe that this playdough is certainly going to be enjoyed by them without a doubt. I might try this out this coming weekend and see how it goes.

Nice post, keep such interesting information coming as it's being very much useful.

Awesome way to teach the kids on how to cook. It can be there start in learning new things. I will try this first before I instruct kids on how to do it.

This looks great, my nephew's are love to play dough so this would gonna be great and its something fun to do. I never heard of this maizena, is this something like flour or a baking soda? Anyway whatever it is, I would love to do this maybe I could put purple color I find cool right?lol

This is awesome. These toys can be expensive so this way you can make the dough in a cheaper way and you can make more of it. It's a great idea and I'm thinking about making it even though I don't have a kid haha.

This seems easy to do and the ingredients are easy to find as well, I will sure try it because my son will make one year in November and I am sure that in the future he will love to play with this.

This is not only easy to do, but the kids really like it. To be honest, I’m already tired of spending so much money on playdough, which children leave in different places and it dries up. Also this playdough has some kind of smell and it is not very useful for kids, because it has a chemical composition. And your homemade dough for modeling is a real eco product. Thanks for sharing. I had never thought that playdough can be made at home. So, I want to share with you one great idea, too. Thanks to this, your kids will learn something new, getting useful skills in a playful way. I found and printed out free worksheets for my kids and they love to fill them out. You can find them here 99worksheets.com. There are a lot of exciting tasks for preschoolers and primary school students, but my older kids also love filling out these worksheets.
