Is pet insurance worthwhile?

I would like to get my cats covered by pet insurance to pay for the cost of veterinary visits. Would this be worthwhile and what type of medical issues would be covered?

Some cat breeds are very prone to illness, so it's best to have them insured at an early age before anything sets in. Though it might seem like an unneeded expense, you will be thankful if anything bad happens. Though most insurance will not cover anything so trivial as spay/neuter, but it could cover an operation or treatment for something more serious or life threatening to the animal.

I would not get it as I don't think that it is worth it. But it could be if you are at the vet a lot.

We had it once for two of our cats. It was worth it for one when he had to have xrays for a sprained leg. but for our other cat, it was not worth it in the least.

Do you know if cat pregnancy is covered on pet insurance? One of my cats might be pregnant and if so I don't know if she requires medical assistance.

I would ask before I got the plan just to be sure that it was covered if you wanted it to be.

I think that anything insurance is worth the purpose of getting it insured at the long run, be it a pet or even humans as well, health insurance would always be of a beneficial end to the owner of those pets at the long run.

I think you can go for accident insurance, pregnancy and thefts insurance with your pet if there are cases of stolen pets within your neighborhood. It will be a nice idea to have your pets placed under any insurance package of your choice as it's normally said that prevention is better than cure and being proactive is far much better than being reactive.

I don't think it worth to take an insurance for a pet, from my own experience my dog was healthy and it didn't need to take him to a vet for more than a year now, so in most cases you would pay the insurance for nothing, and in the worst case you may take the pet to a vet maybe twice a month.

I haven't really thought about if getting insurance for my pets. But I do think that it has its advantages. In cases of accidents or sickness and even death, insurance can be very handy sometimes.

If you love and truly care for your pets then getting them covered with insurance is a good deal. It can save you a lot of money more so if your pet often gets sick.
