Watch sci fi or read the book?

Actually I like reading sci fi books. They are so detailed and my imagination can fly free. I don't get the same sensation watching sci fi movies and TV shows. I like the books better for sci -fi. What about you?

I like reading a lot. Though science fiction is not really my favorite genre now. I have read a few sci fi books in the past, but none recently. I don't watch many sci-fi shows either. Though when I was younger, I watched a lot of sci fi shows.

The descriptions in a book for sci fi are always very lavish. That's true of any book though even gothic romance. It's good to be able to read as you are able to enrich your brain and are not a passive participant anymore as you are with a tv show or movie.

When it comes to sci-fi type of thing I always prefer to watch the movie first and if I find it interesting then that's the time I browse the net and look for its book version and read it.

As a child, I used to read si-fi. However, when I grew into adult, I am no longer reading si-fi novels. The only si-fi book that I read when I grew up was The Foundation series from Assimov. Some of the si-fi books that I loved as a child are: Invisible Man, Time Machine etc.
These days, I prefer to watch si-fi moves. One of my favorite si-fi movies is War of the World and I Robot.

I am not a fan of the sci-fi movies or books but If I must choose one of them I think I would choose to see the movie instead of reading the book. It is very hard to image a sci-fi view in our mind, so, I think is easier to understand the action if I watch the movie.

Just like theater is made to be watched, I prefer also to watch sci-phi series, the last one I saw was Babylon 5.

Actually I like to read the book first and then watch the movie. Sci fi is very demanding to explain on a book, the writer has to add even the smallest detail so you can figure out what he wants to transmit. On a movie is not easier but self explained, due to the ultimate technology we have nowadays. So, in order to create the environment and situation the writer describes, the movie makers have to work hard. Anyway I always do both, so I can have my opinion and give a different perspective of what I imagined while I was reading.

I think reading the book first and then watching the movie version helps to understand the story better. I have watched movie version of the si-fi books I read as a child, when I grew up, I lost interest in reading si-fi, however, I enjoyed si-fi movies. What I love in si-fi movies is the creative imagination of the writer and director and the computer generated images.

Unfortunately I don't have so much free time as I used to, so I can't read as much as I want to, but Sci-fi is never too old or enough. Sci-fi depends on our imagination, so anything that you can imagine, can become a very good piece. To me, writers are to admire for, because they make me get involved with the story, when I'm reading, I don't need visuals, I make them on my mind, and that's amazing. Obviously is way much better, when you watch the movie, and get a better image on a big screen, so movies complete my idea of the written story.

When you read, you can create images in your mind, the entire actions happen in your mind. This is the beauty of reading. It activates the creative mind. watching is also wonderful because you get to see what's happening and how its happening. However, when you are watching, you see someone's imagination.

True, that's someone else's point of view. But in my case, those images kind of complete what I already had in my mind. Is like they clarify what I was thinking, and make it even better. When you're reading sci-fi, there are moments where you think and create images of an action, but they're not completely clear, and when you see the movie, the recreation on the big screen shows you exactly the action. That way, you know for sure what's happening, and if you read the book again, you will enjoy it even better.

I like reading science fiction books but I prefer watching science fiction movies. However not all science fiction movies are good. I prefer to watch movies from Marvel and DC comics studios. Those movies are really well made. I am addicted to science fiction movies. They are my favorite genre. I am eagerly waiting for the release of Justice League. This will be a really great movie for sure.

I would definitely choose watching sci-fi movie rather than reading it, like I know that reading the book makes it more deeper but my reason is simple, I just like someone or something to act it out.

I will prefer it in acting, I don't know but the book might not give me that detailed illustrations or exploitation like when it is acted out.I will rather watch it than read about it.

I would rather watch science fiction movies than read a book. I get excited when watching such kind of movies because of what I see. Reading the book doesn't give me satisfying imagination especially when I know the movie is out.

I really use to love reading just for the enjoyment of it, and sci-fi and fantasy were my favorites. I just don't have time anymore. Today, all me reading has a purpose, typically for some kind of research.

I love reading the books as well. I find it more detailed done when they are adapted for movies. There were no cuts or changes on how the author intended the story to go. But I still watch some of them in movies, just for the fun of it.
