Writing and selling fantasy novels online

The fantasy genres books and novels had experienced a rebirth in recent years. There are a lot of TV adaptations of big fantasy novels and a lot of people are consuming huge amounts of literature orientated towards fantasy.



This probably happens because everyone wants to escape their current reality filled with modern problems in which we get almost intoxicated by advertisements and the idea of "the perfect modern life". Writing a good fantasy novel today would be very profitable for any writer out there.

So here are the best tips for creating quality fantasy content:

1. Find a good place to write. It needs to be quiet and empty of any possible distractions. All you need is a desk and a laptop (or paper and pen if you are old school).
2. Find inspiration from your own life, give characters a personal touch inspired from people we've encountered along the way.
3. Make sure you have a solid foundation and you've already read a lot of fantasy content, everyone needs an inspiration, do not copy your favorite writers, let them inspire you.
4. Don't start with money in mind because in this business turning a profit is pretty hard, let your passion drive you.
5. After you finish a chapter, revise it a couple of times, you will find that it always will need a little more work, don't be in a hurry to finish the book if it isn't completely ready to be finished.
6. After its all set and done, don't stop, write another one! Quality content takes time to develop and you'll find your writing style improving with every complete work.

Awesome advice, i have been looking for tips on writing and how to become a better writer. I have never given writing about fantasy much thought, but with these tips i may even give it a shot. I hope that you can include more about selling your stories only maybe some different market places? I agree money and distractions can ruin a writers train of thought. When you take money out of the equation you start to write about things that appeal to you more rather than trying to get paid on what people go crazy about. I need to learn more about writing books and telling stories. Painting a picture is something im good at but i never put it to good use. Thank you for sharing i appreciate your topic. Please let us know a little more about selling bodies of work to websites or publishers ETC.

My sister is a published author and she has some paperbacks out now. She goes more for writing Sci-Fi and I have to say I was like totally blown away the first book of hers that I read. I couldn't stop thinking that I grew up with this person and I never knew what weird things were floating around in that brain LOL.

Anyway SW Fairbrother is my sister and I think she will tell you that becoming an author is not easy, she had a lot of rejections and let downs on her path. She is not a full time author but like I said she has a few published books now.

Fantasy genre has a great potential to sell. Think about Harry Potter that made a fortune for the author. Harry Potter became a phenomenon because it contains fantasy elements. Your fantasy book may not sell instantly because even JK Rowling was rejected 6 times. Those publishers who rejected the first Harry Potter book thought the book will never sell. How wrong they were. People enjoy reading fantasy because they love to explore the improbabilities. You may even receive a movie offer for your book because fantasy movies are also in high demands.

I am a great fan of sci-fi and fantasy movies and books. Nowadays, there are more sci-fi movies being made because people enjoy watching those movies. They want something different. I have never tried writing a sci-fi book but I think I can try to write a short story at first. Very often after watching those sci-fi movies I get some weird ideas. lol. I have never thought about writing such books. Maybe I must give it a try.

Awesome post especially for would be fantasy authors,I love to read fantasy novels or watched them as movies because I see creativity at it peak.Authors use their mind eyes to capture the unimaginable and exciting adventures and bring it into life.it a great way to explore the abstract and one's innate abilities.Bringing things that never were in existence or things that never really happen to live and it sounds believable even making your readers begin to fantasize about them.it a genre that takes geniuses to succeed though.

Awesome man! Your pieces of advice are really useful now. You know, I want to begin writing a novel, for my soul. I will not publish anywhere if just my friends will read it. It's going to be my birthday gift for them. As I'm passionate about light novels plus sci-fi ones. It's gonna be interesting while writing. I have been reading until now a lot of light novel in english on this interesting website. Dude, it's really inspiring, I got some ideas as you said that I need some inspiration. Furthermore, I'm thinking about the events of my life. I will add something, I guess my best friend will feel that I put life in my future novel.
