    A coon killed my cat

    The other night a coon killed my cat outside! We have two other cats outside that we are locking up at night now as a result until we catch the coon. I saw him and he is huge. We have a few live traps set up with peanut butter and marshmellows. Any other suggestions on how to bait him?

    I'm so sorry for your loss.

    I would be really devastated if one of my cats was attacked by a wild animal. Several of my cats stay outside. I had not even considered how such a thing was possible.

    I did some research online and came up with this link that might help you out.

    They were saying how fish or eggs are good bait, especially for a racoon.

    I definitely know that this would touch you a lot Beverly as you are officially the best cat person that I have come across online. Your love for cats is breathtaking, it's really sad @angie828 had to lose her cat that coon. Personally I would totally devastated should it be my dog that suffered such horrible fate.

    aww! My heart goes out to you. A coon killed my cat

    I lost my kitten this past year. I have been heartbroken ever since. Some days, I do not feel like getting out of bed still because of it.

    That's very unfortunate and sad how your cat was killed. Please be sure to talk to someone about the bereavement as feelings of sadness are very common when a pet dies. In time it won't hurt so much, but you will always miss him and wish he was with you.

    I'm really sorry that you lost your dear cat. I wish you will have the heart to forget and replace the cat with a new pet. Just ensure you protect the remaining cat from dangers and do all you can not fall prey of whatever that might trick you to leave your cat to be in an insecure environment.

    Aww.... This is such a tragic thing. Especially when you know that cats are generally an fighter and losing its life over an animal might've been a really hard fight. Well, I heard to be successful in baiting one, you must really secure the trap first. Then create a trail of food baits going to the trap. A wet cat food is a good bait. I hope there won't be anymore coons in the future for you.

    I'm truly sorry for your loss. There is nothing so painful like losing one's loved pet to a predator. If it was a natural death, it's even a little bit easier to endure but death by a predator is very heart broken. I just hope that you get over it soon and I quite sure that getting the coon captured would be very good relief for you. I would advice that you don't allow your cat wander about carelessly.

    I am really sorry about your cat, I know what you feel right now because someone killed my cat too a year ago. My cat was black and he was a very loving cat, no matter what I was doing to him he would never hurt me back.

    Aww, it can be very annoying when a total stranger harms one's pet.Sorry about that, it matter that you are making sure that the two are well protected now which is ideal now.For the coon don't be impatient continue setting the trap it will catch him one day.
