Did you ever re-gift?

Re-gifting is the act of giving a gift to someone else after that same gift was given to you by someone else. Most times this is done when you receive a gift that you do not really need or want and just want to pass it along to someone else who might like it more. Have you ever re-gifted?

Regifting sounds like a really tacky thing to do and considering how little a gift costs, it's not really necessary. Also, there is the risk you could regift the item back to the person who gave it to you. And, that could be embarrassing.

I've been doing it yearly. I keep getting gifts which I really have no use for or gifts that doesn't fit me or something that I really don't like. What I do is wrap them up and give it as a gift to friends and family who I feel might enjoy them.

I am guilty as charged! I haven't done it often. If the gift makes me think of someone automatically, then it's a must for me, and I also include handmade gifts to go with it.

In order for me to do it, it practically has to scream out someones name before I even consider the thought.

Yes I have done this before. If I don't like it why keep it?

I have regifted. If a gift does not contain a gift receipt and I can not take it back, if I am not going to use it I will regift it.

If someone else would be able to use the item more than me, then I don't see why not. At least, the gift would not go to waste or get shelved. Did you ever re-gift?

And, better than allowing the gift to sit unused in a closet. Though you could easily donate to a charity shop that would sell and use the funds for a good cause.

My biggest issue is when I receive a gift that I don't like and can't return it to the store they bought it from, without a receipt. Sometimes, the person is polite enough to give me the receipt up front, but if not, then I am too shy to ask for it. I just think they would be offended if they knew that I wanted to return the gift. In those situations, I will just keep the gift.

all and every gift are useful no matter what lol

And, it's really the thought that counts with a gift, right? At least someone cared enough to give you a gift, even if it wasn't the perfect or 'right' gift. That should be what's important here.

Yes I have also donated things before. I like doing this as it helps others out as well.

I think that when you regift you just have to be careful that the person who gifted the item to you does not find out.

Personally, I see gifts as something special and it should be treated as such. A gift is something that comes from ones heart to another, it even gives joy to that person if he or she happens to see you making use of the gift or keep it in your possession. It's a sign of respect and appreciation.

I will definitely feel bad should I find out that the gift I took out time to go buy or make and give to someone that I cared about has been re-gifted to another. I definitely wouldn't insult someone that way and never expect to be insulted in such manner.

I do this a lot especially when I have had enough of such gift and I know another might want it more than I do, I give it out without a delay. So yes I do regift it a show of kindness, I don't think it a mean thing to do.

I think re-gifting is not a bad thing. If something does not seem to be useful to you then it is better to give it to someone who will use it. I have also received some weird gifts over the years. However, since I don't like those gifts I have never considered to give them to others.

Yes only once. My sister in law gave me a baby gift basket that someone else gave to her son ; when her grand daughter was born. Then, I re gift the baby gift basket to my niece a few years later because it is wasteful to let the gift sitting in the corner. Anyway, it was a useful gift for my niece. Save money

Actually, I did, I have received a bottle of Whiskey on my last Christmas and since I do not drink alcohol I re-gifted to my godfather on its birthday a few days ago.
