Does anyone still read paperback books?

Welcome to the digital age rite? Do people still read paper books even though the tablet and the internet has become so popular? When i was growing up newspapers and paperboys where a normal thing. Now if you need news you just Google it or read it from your tablet or mobile device. Magazines seem more popular than anything else now but still you can get everything and download it to IBooks or a similar program. I don't even think kids these days read news or even read magazines paper or otherwise YouTube has taken over. What do you guys think? do any of you read or know anyone who still reads paper books? I look forward to personal experiences and feedback. Thanks for reading.

As always thank you for reading and please don't forget to follow me:

Oh yes! I don't read fiction online. I will read blogs yes and some news and things online but I will not use a Kindle Does anyone still read paperback books?

I will not read fiction books or magazines online. I love the feel of a real book and I don't believe that will change any time soon for me. There is nothing quite like reading a book and turning the pages.

I also love the process of going to the bookstore (new and second hand) and browsing around looking at what they have and then choosing something to read. That in itself is a treat!

Awesome i think this king of thing is being killed by technology and the cost of printing things. I feel like just ten years ago paper books and news papers where the most popular thing. Now you rarely see people reading books or news papers on buses or other public places. You always see a tablet or a phone that someone is reading. I actually thought my mother was the last person on earth that read paper books. She reads all kinds of things and she reads them FAST. So now i know 2 people in the world who ready paper books. Even all the schools around here and in a few states around the country are going paperless. The students are given an Ipad to do all of their classwork from.

I do I do! I still read paperback books! I reading real books, especially old ones, they usually have the most beautiful covers! I wish books would still make those beautiful covers they used to make 50 years ago.

I also read a lot of digital content, ebooks and actual novels, on my laptop, tablet and even mobile phone since I have a 5.5 inch screen and can read most things very comfortable. I think people will learn to blend both old school books as well as ebooks together, at least I don't see real books disappearing any time soon.

Yes me too. I still feel that the emotion of a paperback book is unique. And I can't deny that I don't use or read technology, because certainly I do. But, I don't know if is it's due to the fact that I've been reading regular books my whole life. Sometimes I find it hard to use my laptop or tablet for many hours in a row, my eyes get tired and the battery don't last forever. With my book I don't have these issues, I can read it for as long as I want to.

I know several people who's reading paperback books daily. My mom is one of those people for instance, but she also hates everything that has with computers to do. - She also use her phone to read news.

I on the other hand, read the newspaper when I'm doing number two. I just hate to read things on my mobile phone when I'm in the bathroom. I can't say why. Perhaps it's because my father always read the newspaper. I don't know but I've never liked the idea of reading things on my phone when I'm in the bathroom. - That being said, I do write and read ebooks, reports and guides online, often several hours per day. And I use my phone when I'm in bed, before I go to sleep or whenever I'm on a train or a bus for instance.

And even though I don't read paperback books myself, like fiction or anything like that for instance, I just love to have a bookshelf. With books in it. - It gives me the feeling of a "real home" somehow.

I agree that paperback books are more comfortable and awesome to read than some e-books but both are totally preferable in some terms like when you don't want to carry anything heavy book on your bag then probably you'd want to read on e-books but as what you say paperback books gives you that pure feel straight out of the books, so basically reading on both platform are totally fine for me.

I still buy and read paper backs. Turning the pages of book as you read, is a great experience. I like the feel of words printed on paper. I also buy and read digital books, however, I always prefer to have a paper back instead of digital copies. However, these days I am buying and reading digital books more than paper books. Digital books cost less than printed books, therefore, I buy digital books more. I have about 25 GB of digital books.

I read almost only paperback books. I don't want to waste money on them and buy them so I go to my local library and borrow books. It's a great solution for people who don't want to buy books and there are many books to choose from there.

Yes, borrow books from the library is a good option to save cost and save space at home. Furthermore, library allows 2 weeks to loan the book and penalize if not return. This is a good habit because you will know that you had been reading the paperback book, not chuck one side of the corner waiting for the spiders to build the webs..

Actually, I like more to read a paper book than a digital one. Nothing compared to the smell of the paper and holding the book in your hands while reading it. I don't have the patience to read a digital book, the format is too small, and I barely see the letters, is annoying to set the letters to a higher resolution all the time.
I don't read as much as I did in the past because my time is limited but when I want to read a book I choose the paper book!

Honestly, I find reading papers books stressful lately. The reason for this is that most of these typewritten paper works are very tiny and it gives my eyes stress when reading it especially at night. But ebooks or digital papers can be magnified/zoomed to increase its font.

I agree with you. I cannot stand reading the small text, focus on the tablet or phone or pc several hours a day, sitting on a chair while reading. The radiation on the gadgets are just simply uncomfortable and tiring.

Back in the days, I read paper books, however, when my mom bought me a computer and a laptop I don't anymore read paper books. I find it less hassle and more convenient to read online.

That is actually the influence of technological advancement in our world today. Computers have replaced a lot of things we do manually before now and used new inventions to sweeten life for us, and generally making life more better and comfortable for us than before.

I still read paperback books every now and then. I read eBooks more regularly. There are actually many advantages of buying eBooks. They are much cheaper and easier to carry around. Moreover I can also read many books for free online.

I do this exact same thing when it comes to books, the nature of the information I'm seeking determines the kind of book that I would be resorting to. But generally, I prefer more of ebooks than raw paper books. The stress of carrying books around is a major turn off for me. Ebooks makes it easier for one to have access to several books without feeling the pressure of carrying anything at all.

I do still read paper books but a greater part of my research lately is based on ebooks or digital write ups. It's only in rare cases of some work that I intend on doing, which the materials needed to carry out the project would force me to go paper written materials. Digital papers have being a major upgrade in our research work today.

Yes,I still read more of the paperback books because I work online and I have my eye on the screen for more than 10 hours daily, I try to reduce my eye exposure to the screen by reading more of papers than still straining my eye with the bright screen. So yea,I still read paper books because I have no choice.

It would be great if now I could play games on Java on my Kindle. It is very bad that they deleted this feature. I would play scrabble on it with pleasure. I am using kindle fire 2nd generation for three years and sometimes I read too much when I am on road and I want to relax from reading without discharging my phone. It would be great I could play games on Kindle. I think that if we make some comments on their official forums they can listen to our opinion and put in future again in function. I don't think that it will be hard nowadays, because the devices are better than in 2011/2013.
