Should you do a craft even if it doesn't earn money?

I have a few craft type interests but no way to monetize them. So I feel guilty even trying. Should I craft anyway regardless or wait till I can find a way to make money off them?

If you really enjoy it then why not? YOu can not make money from everything that you do in life.

I agree with Ella on this. You can do something and not make any money off it. You just have to be willing to accept that you enjoy it and that should be good.

If you enjoy it as a hobby then do it. It is good to spend sometime doing other things.
It can help with keeping you fresh and relaxes you.
Not everything has to be about chasing the $$$$

There is usually a way of monetizing everything/anything.
Lots of people like Crafts, if you are knowledgeable then write an Ebook and offer it for sale.

Don't feel guilty about time spent on art work or crafting as it can be very relaxing and promote good health benefits. Engaging in a craft will keep your fingers nimble and your mind active, regardless of your age. And, even if you don't earn money, you will enjoy the experience.

Sure why not? As long as you like doing it that is all that should really matter.

You should not have to feel guilty about taking free time to relax and enjoy yourself with a craft as it will help relieve stress and make you feel energized. And, crafting is a better way to spend spare time than watching TV as it's actually productive.

If you enjoy doing it, then that is all that truly matters! Not everything needs to earn one money.

It is all about doing what gives you joy. I mean doing it without getting paid will still attract people to see the passion you have in it. So, if crafting is my passion, I can do it without thinking of money.

Yes you should continue to create crafts, why not? Maybe you are not ready yet to make the step on commercializing them but that moment may come any time so, you will need to have what to sell, keep working and do your best.
Unfortunatly I am not that good at crafting, my wife is a beginner in this!

Yes why not if that is your passion crafting staff you should go for it, you can make it as your hobby in life no need to sell them but if you like to try to monetize your crafting talents maybe you can try selling in the future. but if not it is okay. at least you are making something different and it is amazing. only few is good in crafting.

Let me share you a story. When I was a kid, I started to realize at that time that I like to do some crafts. Everytime I think an idea or get inspired on what I saw, I always want to do it. I think doing crafts is a hobby of mine. If it makes you fun, then continue doing it. I didn't think to monetize my crafts until some of my friends want to have one of my crafts. Then they suggest to buy it and I say, "why not? I am happy that you like my crafts". And it all started there. Now I make crafts and at the same time I earn some money in it. Just have fun and continue doing it.

For me, I think it really depends on the person. If he/she is somewhat bored or not satisfied with his/her work then probably he/she could come up with new ideas or If he/she sees something special about his/her work that can earn him/her some cash then probably he/she should sell his/her artworks.

Arts are arts even though they are not monetized. You should definitely do your arts, master them and enrich the. Make them your own. Your crafts will bring you a different kind of happiness and fulfillment more than if you create them just for sale.
