Ok everyone, I have the saving grace on how to remove permanent marker off of everything in your homes!!!! Its happened to you guys before, I'm sure! My kids have done it, multiple times and I wish I had this list when it happened!

Clothes - use hand santizer.
Walls - use toothpaste or even hairspray.
Wood - use rubbing alcohol.
Carpet - use white vinegar.
Furniture - use milk. (i dont know if i would do that personally!)
White Board - use a dry erase marker or the rubber eraser of a pencil.
Ceramic or glass - mix one part toothpaste and one part baking soda.

I hope this is informative to everyone just like it was to me! I'll probably never freak out if it ever happens again because I have the solution to every scenario!!! Enjoy! Thanks for reading! =]

I didn't think this was possible. I Always thought you where doomed if this got on your clothes or walls. Im with you on the milk i don't know if i would pour milk onto my couch. If toothpaste is abrasive enough to remove permanent marker how is it good for your teeth? I always wonder these things because most products are hypocritical. Mike i never heard of Gas being used as a thinner! That is just as cool as this hack thanks for sharing that. Like you said though i wouldn't use to much of it especially if you have smokers in the house hahahaha! Great hack thank you for sharing!

Awesome tips! Cool that for every surface you need to use something else, I think it has to do with the potential chemical reaction, I always thought school was enough for any surface when it comes to removing permanent markers.

thanks Christian! yea it probably does have something to do with the reaction, and the type of surface.

This post just got me all knocked out with laughter, if you have kids at home, you are definitely going to be having marker problems every here and there. It's what kids are used to. In fact, they enjoy making a lot of things, especially fabrics in the house.

Sometimes, I practically forbid my little cousin from invading our seating room because if they do, the site of the room would disgust anyone that enters. This is because the seating only has white sofa and they will definitely ruin it.

But these your tips on how to remove these permanent makers looks interesting, I would have to try it and confirm it's efficiency in getting those makers off.

It always happened in our room during my high school and college days. We always used permanent marker in a mistake thinking that it is the whiteboard marker. It sometimes happened in our house before and I don't know how to remove them especially in clothing. Now, I will try to find my clothes with lines of permanent marker and remove them. I hope I can use again all of it. Thank you for a useful information.

This is a really good tip because I have two kids, my older son is passed by this stage but my second son I am sure will use a marker on our furniture or wood floor and I will need your advice.
