What old cartoon would you like to see in the big screen?

I grew up  watching cartoons like GI-joe, Ninja Turtles, Spiderman, Winnie The Pooh, X-men, Justice League, The Marvel Superheroes, He-man and SHe-ra and some of them are already made in the big screen. What I am thinking of is Captain Planet, I really want to see this come into movies as this is another superhero that saves the planet.

How about you guys what other cartoon do you think that you would like to see on the big screen?

A reboot of Daimos would be great, it's one of the best Mecha series back then, saw it back in the 90's and with the graphics nowadays, I think it would be a very good anime to watch.

I'm excited to see the upcoming film Christopher Robin! Really loved Winnie the Pooh when I was younger and I want to see this new adaptation, especially after the success of the 2 Paddington Bear movies. Hopefully, this one got it right as well.

I just said to myself that if someone hasn't mentioned Winnie the Pooh yet, that is going to be my answer. I was a huge Winnie the Pooh fan when I was a child. I had several children's books including the originals, I watched the movies, and I loved the television series as well. Growing up with Pooh, I was super happy to see them doing a realistic rendition in the Christopher Robin movie. I've also been meaning to see Goodbye Christopher Robin, which is the story of the author's life and the creation of Winnie the Pooh.

I guess that is granted as this year we have a movie that has Winnie The Pooh in it which is titled "Christopher Robin" and of course Pooh's friends are also there. I was excited to see this movie and the reason is because Winnie The Pooh has been a part of my childhood days as well and this movie has the real life-like Pooh and friends and it's a great way to reminisce.

Most of the known cartoons that I have seen in 90s are now turned into movies. Though some of the cartoons are yet to be done like in the hannah barbara toons - centurions, galtar, birdman and few others. So it seems like there are lot of cartoons not yet converted. Sometimes I feel it's better that way. And it can be really interesting to see how the cartoons are changing the way society works.

One of my favorite cartoons where The Thundercats, and I would love to see them come to life. Can you imagine how great would be the visual effects, when Mumm-Ra transforms himself in the All-powerful Mumm-Ra? Oh, and when Lion-O uses the Sword of Omens. Apparently, there are rumors of some possible movie for 2019 about them, and even Milla Jovovich said she would love to play Cheetara. Honestly, hope they can make it, I really liked those guys, and they are really great superheroes.

Yeah, Thunder Cats would be nice. I have totally forgotten this cartoon until you mentioned it. I used to watch them when i was a kid and i think i use to mimic them. A movie would be nice, i know for sure that kids nowadays gonna love it.

I liked Thunder Cats. I'm always watching it too and I have a bunch of comics about it. I read those comics for a couple of times. You're right, it would be nice if they will make a movie of it.

Peter Pan. What old cartoon would you like to see in the big screen? It's an old cartoon story. Although they have made it on the big screen many times. I still wanted to watch it over again and see the changes or progress in terms of special effects.
I wanted to watch it over again even when I get old, I will still be excited to know if they have released it again on the big screen.
Well I am hoping they will. It maybe a very old cartoon story, but the character itself "Peter Pan" who wouldn't grow up has an amazing effect to me, or maybe also to other who are still fond of the story.
It maybe a very old story but I still think of it as if it is new, it is young. Or maybe I love it because it makes me feel like a kid again.

Peter Pan for me as well, I really enjoyed watching this old cartoon animation very much back then. What I love so much about the cartoon is the humor that comes with it. When a cartoon lacks humor in it, then it's no longer cartoon but a movie in my opinion. Cartoon animations are meant to induce laughter and happiness to those watching it, and it's exactly what watching Peter Pan did for me.

Let us wait and hope until they'll make it on the big screen again.
Any thought of who will be the actor to play as Peter Pan? I am imagining Lucas Till, Daniel Radcliffe, or maybe Justin Bieber. LOL

I would really like to see a new Justice League series which is based on the movie. I've been a fan of the old 2000 series which run in Toonami for 2 years but, I think having a new series based on the live action justice league movie would be really great more so if they paytern it's storyline in Anime for more depth, targeting mature audiences, that means a continuous story unlike westernized cartoons which are mostly stand alone stories.

This is one cartoon that I can't forget in a hurry. I mean that getting to enjoy its trills back in those days was enjoyable. One thing that I like about watching cartoons is that you get to feel that laughter while you watch those plays since they try to mimick some lots of real life situations.

I remember when I saw for the first time Bambi the old one from 1942, it was amazing for me, I would like to see it again, it would remember me of my childhood when I was the first time with my parents and saw a cartoon movie.

Bambi is such a classic, and I would really love to see an adaptation for today's modern world, where the values present in the story still holds true. I'm pretty sure I would still be emotional despite being a grown man if they can do the story right.

I would like to watch Princess Mononoke on our home TV. However, I still cannot find a subtitle that is in sync with the video. The subs are too far from the voice and it is hard to sync manually. I guess I'll watch the film from another source because I haven't watched this film before and I hear it is good.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Yeah, animated films by Hayao Miyazaki like Princess Mononoke are really good, the animation is so good for the time it was produced and the story is very relevant as well until now.

I would like to see Voltes V again and seeing it in cinema would be nice. Also it would be nice if they make a 3D version of it. I have seen old cartoons like Astroboy updated and turned 3D. A new age Voltes V would bring back good times with a little bit of a twist.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Kakashi2020
A reboot of Voltes V would be epic. It's probably the grandaddy of all Giant Mechas, it was number one then and with the awesome graphics nowadays, kids and adults would be addicted to a Voltes V reboot.

When I was a child, I watched a lot of HeMan. I want to watch HeMan in big screen.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Oh yes I liked to watch He-man a lot, also the female version his sister She-ra. I could spend hours watching those two, because I loved her castle and when she was using her sword. Honestly, He-man villains were so much better than She-ra ones, and the plot was basically the same, but in that moment visual effects seemed great to me, and I wanted to be a Superhero like them.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

I am glad to hear that at least somone shares mi desire to see HMan for te big screen. As far as I remember the visual effects in the cartoon was not as good as the modern times visual effects. However, back in thoese days, it was wonderful. I never though about becoming super heros because to me thy were out of this world.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

ballyhara
He-man and She-ra are classics, they are like icon cartoons to my generation, at least in my country. Of course those effects where silly compared to nowadays ones, but back when I was like 8 years old, those were amazing blasts. My friends at our neighborhood, used to play He-man or She-ra board games, cards, having the dolls and a lot of merchandise. Those cartoons were really popular here.

When I used to watch He-man, I was in the kindergarten and primary level. I was in a boarding school and we were allowed to watch He-man every Sunday morning. We were around 50 children and every one of us tried to get the best spot for the He-man. sadly, I do not remember much of the he man story, though

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Yeah He-man that would be nice. Although they already had a version in the big screen before but i think its time to make it more 3D. He-man is one of the longest cartoon and i'm sure people would be enticed watching it.

Well, I can't never forget my one time old favorite cartoon called Samurai Jack. I'm still looking for the possibility of getting the cartoon to watch all over again. It's actually a series cartoon, as it has over 90 episodes. If anyone knows any movie of animation website I can download Samurai Jack from, I'm very interested to know about it.

Thanks. What old cartoon would you like to see in the big screen?

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

DenisP
Well I wouldn't say that Samurai Jack is exactly old since it came out in 2001 (cripes, it really doesn't feel like it was 17 years ago) but I can definitely agree that it is something I'd like to see a big screen adaptation of. Thing is I'd definitely want the original creators on board though, because it would be a shame to see the movie turned into some generic samurai action film. I'd want them to do an original story for the movie cause you just can't condense that whole series into a two hour film, but I think it would be super cool if they made a live-action original.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

While not that old, I would definitely want to watch Samurai Jack in the big screen. I was so happy when they brought it back last year, although it was the last season.

Looks like we are all from the same generation here. I also enjoyed watching as a kid shows like Voltron, Daimos, Thundercats, He Man, She Ra, Rainbow Brite, Ghostbuster, GI Joe, Smurfs, Transformers and a lot more. A lot of these cartoon shows from those years were made into a movie already. I guess, one that I wanted to see is the Carebears. Just like the recent movies of Pooh and Paddington, I would like to see how cute the Carebears would be when they are made into a movie.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Oh yes, all of those are into movies now. I think very of the classics are not yet touched and that's a good thing too. But I think it's time they need to be remade not in movies but as is in better print or animation. I think lot of movies ruined the old classic cartoons and series due to cheesy stuff in it. But I guess that's what movie market is all about.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Carebears and Rainbow Brite remakes would be amazing! Those were both such a big part of my childhood. I actually bought some Carebears toys for my daughter when she was born because I wanted her to experience a love for them too!

The Robotech: Macross Saga, I miss that series, it's one of those revolutionary cartoons/animes which didn't get a proper ending. I read that the producer died so the production stopped. I wish that someone would reboot this title.

Oh I had flashbacks when I saw this...Robotech. I have been a fan of technology and this serie was great. All those things about protoculture, alien ships, advance technology, really got me. Also, I really liked robots, and my favorite ones where Mazinger Z and Dai Apolon. We used to have figures, and board games, but I was a little girl, and my dad refused to get me boy stuff.

I hope that some producers or director would be interested in remaking these cartoons since they are a classic. Yup! Popeye The Sailor Man is one of the best cartoons out there back in the 80's and one of my favorite as well. I really love the story and how bravery reflects in the cartoon as well as humility and care for someone. It's a great cartoon where any kid can learn to be respectful and know what's right from wrong. Hoping to see this one go in the big screen as well.

I like to see Snow White and Cinderella in a big screen. I just don't know but whenever I see these movies I felt very happy as I remember what I have felt when watching these from those times. I love to include also Sleeping Beauty although I just watched it a few times than of Snow white and Cinderella.

Sleeping beauty was that good that it was the anime that made me understand what love is all about as a kid. The thing is that you get to feel real good when you are in a situation where you can have the best of things life has got to offer displayed in cartoon. This is something that I miss till today.

I was not really into cartoons when I was a child. I think is because we were never really allowed to watch television as children. By the time I could watch television I had totally lost interest in cartoons. As an adult though I love, love ,love the Simpsons. However I remember that as children we used to sneak into the Tv room for our favorite cartoons Gigi's world. We used to sneak in through a small window that could not lock.So I would love to see it back on my screen so that I can watch it in peace without any anxiety that I will be caught watching it.

It will be Romeo's Blue Skies. We had a local adaptation of this cartoon in our country when it was dubbed in our own vernacular. I was supposed to say Tom and Huck but this was already shown on the big screen.

Now what I can recall is this optimistic boy who had a rough childhood. It had a serious theme which depicted all his struggles and the plight of the whole neighborhood as well. This is like series of misfortune in the eyes of a child that somehow the burdens were made light. I can recall it's a very touching cartoon. The main character Romeo and his friends/gang were known for cleaning chimneys and the story revolved around them.

Sky dancer! I'm just not sure if anyone of you is familiar with this cartoon. Based from what I know, Sky dancer started as a popular line of toys. It's a doll with wings and in order to fly you need to pull a string which is attached to a separate base. Later on, an animated show inspired by this line of toy was created. It's a story of five high-school students who are also a dancer and performer in their school. Then because of some sort of magic, they became a defender of a magical kingdom. They have superpowers plus they have wings to fly. My favorite characters are Jane and Breeze. I really love the theme song of this cartoon. I'm curious how this cartoon looks like in the big screen.

I’d like to see Daria on the big screen. It just needs to happen. Daria - the girl, the legend, the voice of a generation. I’d like to watch a full-length movie of Daria continuing to navigate the halls of Lawndale High School with her iconic nonchalance and bone-dry sense of humor. Let’s bring back Daria, Jane, Quinn, etcetera, one last time for old time’s sake. If it goes onto the big screen, I personally will rent out the entire theater.
