Superheroes amongst us

With today's technology could capable men or women become superheroes?  Not Like Superman, Wonderwoman, Thor, all of whom have God like powers but more like Batman, Black Panther and Green Arrow, who relies on tech, brain power and hand to hand combat.

When I watch this kind of movies, I always believe that there is that possibility that those are real superheroes. We get to see some people with some special characters and it is because of this kind of situation as well. I believe that they exist in the real world.

".. I believe that they exist in the real world... "

Seriously, you believe that super hero exist in the world today? I really find that very hard to believe.

They are all science fiction and characters make up in my opinion because if they are real, we must have seen one in real life.

Well if we are talking along the lines of batman, well I could agree there may be some. It all depends on the perspective. Frankly, Batman is just another vigilante who takes justice upon their own hands for the benefit of others. There are those who took the same path even without the wealth that Bruce Wayne has.

I think so too. Maybe even actual superheroes. I mean, if they are real, they'd have purposefully hidden their existence for a long time. There are some conspiracy videos on YouTube of individuals who can actually teleport and move stuff with their mind.

I think I can't call them as superheroes rather, they are great, intelligent, smart and influential people trying to create something for our world thru technology but not as superhero. I think we can call a person a superhero if they take a risk of their life just to save people from being attack by opponents. Maybe there are actual people behind those characters, but for references only but not totally call them as superheroes.

I have watched all super hero movies. Most of it are all fiction in my opinion, I'm not if there are really super hero existing in the world today but everything is possible in the movies.

Thor the king of Asgard is my favorite super hero.

Well, he specifically mentioned in his post that he's not talking about "Superman, Wonderwoman, Thor, all of whom have God like powers" but more along the lines of heroes who rely on technology to be super. He's talking about heroes like Batman, Green Arrow, etc.

Still a long shot from anybody existing who uses technology like they do, but to be fair to the original poster, he did pose a more plausible question than you think he did.

No, I don't think that heroes like Batman can exist today. Granted, our technology could allow for someone to act as a vigilante if they really wanted to (if they had the money/resources to outfit themselves with crime fighting gadgets), but I just don't think it's plausible. Being a vigilante is so much more than just the technology and gadgets you have. Taking those gadgets out into the real world and trying to save the day will still put you in harms way, and I have a feeling nothing will work out the like movies.

Is it a possibility? Maybe, but the changes are slim to none, in my opinion.

I have to agree with you. It's not only our technology but our laws as well. I think someone running around like those super heroes could be sued or even jailed for a lot of "illegalities". I don't know, I just don't see it happening.

Well, I believe more in common superheroes. Like, for example those amazing athletes that put all that effort every single day to achieve an amazing level on their disciplines, or those parents that are single with no help from anyone but themselves and struggle every day for their kids, also those people that are fighting a war against a disease and live everyday like the best day of their life. You don't have to use a mask and a cape to be a superhero, you just have to be someone that makes a difference to improve someone else's life.

Those are our everyday superheroes and they exist. They're these wonderful people who are in the right place at the time. They don't even need to be soldiers, or professionals. They can just be your neighbor, or someone who lives down the street. We have heroes all around us Superheroes amongst us

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

ballyhara
Exactly. That's why sometimes you may say "my mom is my hero". Because they just make extraordinary, what used to be ordinary. That's very rewarding, when you help someone else, and you become a hero for that person who doesn't know you, but you just saved his day.

I think it's possible. But not in the way superheroes are portrayed onscreen. I mean, it would be really difficult jumping from high places such as buildings and skyscrapers. And it would be ridiculous for them to constantly risk their lives just to accomplish dangerous stunts.

Saving people's lives is what regular people do. You don't need superpowers or high tech gadgets. What matters most is that you're at the right place, at the right time.

I think there may be some. With all these people who love superheroes, it's not really impossible that one or two with the capabilities, would go out of their way and be the hero that they loved.

Superheroes amongst us: I will not agree this to happen for some reason because in every movie we watched superheroes exist because they need them to fight against the powerful creature like superheroes, by that simple situation it means that if thers a superheroes, there is also a bad powerful creature will exist so better to don't have both. right?.

In some parts of the world where there aren't enough cops it is the job of vigilantes to stop criminals. Some work together as groups while others prefer to work alone. I suppose with tech and money, there is much such vigilantes could do to stop crime but without the money you wouldn't be that great a superhero.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Well, I live in one of the most dangerous countries in the world, and what communities do over here is to organize themselves. So, they're like their own "vigilantes". They have come up with signals and sirens ideas, and they make reunions on certain days of the week to attack and solve security issues. Government doesn't help the people, so the people find alternate ways to try to be safe.

Well, we can be a super hero in our own way. Helping who those who are in need. Giving foods to the beggars and street children it may be small but at least we can help them and make them happy.

There are superheroes in real life, it all depends on how you classify superheroes. Not all heroes need to b super, they can be just a regular person who saves someone, no super powers, no special abilities, just the choice to help someone in need is enough.

I think that people like Bill Gates, Steven Jobs and Marc Zuckerberg(reluctantly cause of all the scandals at Facebook) are super heroes. They have fundamentally changed the world with their technology. Because of bill we have the personal computer. Because of Steve we have the iphone and because of Marc we have Facebook. Things we can't imagine living without now.

I do believe that superheroes do exist. But the real superheroes for me are not the one who has mask and cape, doesn't have superpowers but are capable of saving peoples lives from their misery. Real superheroes for me are the people who never get tired of helping people, inspiring people and snatching peolple from the hell. People who are not afraid to go down to lift someone up, people who are not mighty but strong enough to protect the weak. But most of all, real superheroes for me are the people who never get tired of praying and helping just to bring the lost souls back in the arms of God.

Exactly! Anyone who has a big heart and isn't afraid to help and do what's right. Those are the real superheroes these days. Strength comes in many form, it doesn't always mean physical strength. I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks that our everyday heroes are real heroes.

True!
But the problem is the fact that many people nowadays became extra pragmatic, and wouldn't want to risk their skin for anyone. But we are humans, we can't be just based on material facts. Homo erectus is named after a man, who dreamt of something greater and wanted to construct it. He didn't see the world only pragmatically, because if he did, then he would've sat around the campfire in the cave throughout the entire day.

That's the sad truth, that not everyone is willing to help out. That's why heroes among us are so rare. Only a few individual can possess the quality to be selfless enough to risk their own lives just to help out someone else.

I consider America's Navy Seals as superheroes the way you describe in your post. Superheroes that don't get the glory because they can't really go shouting and telling folks all about what they do!

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Yeah. You are right. You can consider them as heroes. I remember a statement that says, real Soldiers don't fight because they hate who's in front of them but because they love who's behind them. They are not fighting for their own. They sacrifice their lives to protect their people and that's enough to consider them as heroes.

Yes. Soldiers are heroes in my book too. Risking your life each and every time you are deployed, not knowing if you are gonna be able to see you family again. They give us their all, for freedom. So that we can enjoy things such as posting on this forum.

Oh, I agree completely. Usually a superhero is seen as someone with superpowers, something extraordinary that a human cannot possess. It's not true, we're the greatest heroes out there. Each and one of us can be a hero. Power of the will is something we all have and thanks to it we can achieve great things.
For me a superhero is a father who works all day to provide to his family, or a mother who tries her best to raise 7 kids.

I think I consider some scientist as one of the superheroes because they doing some great inventions and studies into certain things that can benefit us the most. I really admire their knowledge and patience to study everything that they want to know which an ordinary cannot do. They are equipped with vast equipment and resources to do some research and formulate some solutions to some problems that the world is facing now especially on the cure of some illnesses that until now have no clear solutions or medicine.

I agree. I also appreciate their works that could help us to have a better future. To think they are the ones who invented technology, and that really helped us a lot. Their discoveries are still talents and gifts that not all people can achieve. And because of that, they can be considered as heroes.

I think we have a lot of superheroes in the world already. Maybe not in the all-intelligent, all-rich and powerful kind of of way. There are people who are touching and saving lives with the little and huge acts of kindness they indulge in. You do not have to be tech savvy and or rich to be a superhero. You just need yout heart to be in the right place and you could end up being someone's real life superhero.

Have you guys seen Superhuman, the TV series hosted by the late great Stan Lee? Well there were a lot of people featured with unexplained powers. What if such powers were enhanced by tech gear? Well my guess would be, they'll become literally superheroes.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

I mean it could be possible, but people are a lot less braver nowadays to be superheroes. Everyone became so pragmatic, and the whole white knight thing is fading, sadly. With the modern technology it would be possible to make all the cliche sueprheroes, but I think the scientists would just prefer to make a super strong robot.

There's a big chance that technology could be a reason for someone to be a superhero. With the continuing advancement of our technology, it will definitely make our lives easier. I appreciate those heroes who used technology to help other people, especially Black Panther. I am a fan of Black Panther, he showed that even though you have so many things to be proud of, you can just stay quiet yet you are helping other people in your own way.
