What are the qualities of a good voice over person?

I need to hire someone to do voice overs for my instructional videos. I don't feel confident in doing the voice overs for myself. Also, I don't have the right audio equipment. How would I go about hiring someone to do a voice over?

Also, what qualities should I consider when hiring someone to do voice overs on a video?

Vocal quality would be the most important factor for me, when hiring someone to do voice overs. If the person's voice sounds good to me, then I would likely hire them for the project. This is a purely subjective factor as what sounds good to me, might not sound good to you. Just judge the vocal quality based on your own standards and what you feel your project needs.

today most of the job depends on the voice as business process outsourcing sector, first they check the voice then they hire candidate and most of the area is required good voice like that films, speaker, re presenter etc.

I would say that the best qualities that a voice over should have are voice quality and clarity because it so important that your audience will clearly understand what is the person is saying so that they can follow and learn listening from it. Even though you can use some subtitles, It is still necessary for me as a listener to see those words coming from the source. Well yeah , basically these are the qualities I will consider whenever I look for a voice over. Thanks and God bless everyone.

I strongly recommend that you go for a female to do the voice over for you because I believe woman's voice tend to have a great influence and more appealing to people's minds. When getting a female, access the options at your disposal and determine who is more confident that wouldn't be having difficulty with words while doing the voice over.

If you noticed, even most electronic gadgets that gives audio instructions are programmed to offer such instructions using a female voice. Have you bothered to ask why it's only female voice that they use? Does it mean that male voice is not good as well? Well the answer to that is because female voice tend to be more appealing hence it's preference over a male voice.

I think there are some specific voice qualities which makes a good voice over artists. The voice has to be soft. And it needs to be properly spoken on time. And this way one can add some good quality over videos. You can see that most of the radio and the background voice over artists have some nice voice. And they do it through practice. You can see that such type of the voice over persona requires effort on the voice side. I think with enough practice this is definitely doable for sure.

Everything will depend on the voice and maybe the tone of the voice.So you look at for a person with the kind of voice you want.What's the tone you want .is it husky, baritone or melodious or thrilling.you make your choice and hire the person.

Everything depends on the clarity of the voice as well as how fluent your hired personnel in doing the voice overs for your products. just do some test with what they can do before settling on anyone.

I think the number 1 quality should be how fluent and articulate they can be . Ask whoever is applying for the position to give you a demo. Also choose the voice depending on what the video is about. A good example is you don't want a baby voice, to give instructions do you? That will take some authority from the instructional video. You also want a voice that's upbeat to keep the video from being monotonous.

The voice you are looking for should be pleasant to listen on a record, cristal clear, not excessively loud, a voice that can attract the attention of your listeners and keep them interested in what you want to show. The person has to be fluent, make the phrases sound easy and understandable.
