Can you tame a wild animal?

As much as I love wolves, I know it would not be possible to tame a wolf, even from a cub to be a domesticated animal. The natural instincts are too strong in the wild animal to ever be suitable for indoor or city living. And, to make things worse, the wild animal would be miserable trying to cope with such a cramped indoor living space when they are accustomed to being in the great outdoors with miles of free space to roam.

I think that it would be really hard to tame them. I would not want to. Too hard to do.

I would not want to tame one. Even if you get them tamed they will always have a wild side to them.

I think that they are tamable but I would be afraid that they would end up flipping out once and hurting someone.

True domestication takes generations and often is the result of selective breeding, (to get gentle traits) which is something done mostly with dogs. You cannot just take a wolf out of the wild and ask it to be a dog. They will not act the same.

It is hard to tame a wild animal. It can be done but it would take a lot of time and effort and there will always be a part of wild in them.

And, even if the wild animal learns to live around humans, they will never be truly domesticated only cohabiting. For instance, a lion might tolerate humans but I doubt they would ever lose the natural instincts.

I don't think it's going to be 100 percent possible to tame a wild animal. It's not in their nature to be domesticated. Even if one actually thinks he or she is already successful in achieving this probably by getting a baby tiger cub and having it trained at home, to some extent the cub would seem perfectly fine and well settled as a home animal probably a pet. But I can guarantee that one day, it's animalistic wild nature would kick in and I would be sorry for anyone around that day.

It's going to be like trying to surpress a bomb fuse until you are no longer successful in doing so and it blast the holy hell out of anyone or anything within its proximity.

I would never want to tame a wild animal, a wild animal is thought to be free and live in the wilderness. I think if we would take a wild animal and put him in a cage we would kill him slowly, these animals need to be free because it was born free.

Well, from the name wild,I don't think it can be tamed. It will continue to be what it known for wild.I can't just believe anyone can get to the forest and even pick a baby tiger or lion to come and tame let alone the matured ones. This will be calling for trouble.

It might take awhile, but i don't see why not right? they can still understand all you need is to be patient while teaching them. I saw a lot of lions and tigers from the wild made friends with a man and they love him.

Personally, I met a friend who used to own a lion. Yes, a huge gorgeous lion. Don't know exactly how did he get it, but I know his father was a vet, so I guess he was guilty. Anyway, his family owns a farm, and obviously the open space was perfect for the lion, at least while he was a cub. So, everything was great, until he became a young adult lion, and problems were bigger. But yes, the lion was well tamed, was like having a big cat, who used to weight a ton. Eventually, they took him to a reserve, where he lived for many years, and my friend's family used to visit him, and believe it or not, the lion always knew them, was unbelievable.
