A pet safe cleaner?

Is there a pet safe cleaner to use on the carpets that won't harm a pet?

I need something to take the smell out of our carpets from when our puppy was being potty trained. I don't want her walking over the chemicals on the carpet and then licking that off her paws. I am sure carpet cleaning solution could be toxic for a pet. Give me an alternative please.

You can safely use all natural cleaners such as vinegar to clean and neutralize the smell from a carpet or upholstery. The vinegar will gently clean the surface without fading color.

i dont agree with caitlin natural cleaners as vinegar cant clean dogs or even cats better use chimical product you can try some of as seen on tv products

Some of the commercial cleaners for carpet can contain a bleach type substance which can injure your pet.

You need to stick to a cleaner that is tested to be safe around pets.

You should also be very careful what household cleaners you use to clean your kitchen and bathroom floor as many times a cat or dog will walk over a wet floor and then clean their paws and fur. This can lead to internal injuries if you were using some type of wax or bleach. All natural cleaners are actually best even for house cleaning especially if you have pets.

I was going to suggest Simply Green cleaner for use in your house and near your pet care area. However, having Googled this product just now, I found out that it contains a substance that is known to be harmful to the pet and human health.

So you should avoid that too, even though the bottle label says that it's safe for use around pets.

In the past, I used diluted dish detergent mixed with water in a spray bottle for generic cleaning.

This works if you have a pet as the dish detergent is not toxic. It couldn't be, otherwise it wouldn't be safe enough to use on dishes.

And the bleach will also attract the pet to go to the bathroom there more because the smell is not really inviting to them and smells more like their own urine.

I think natural cleaners are best for the pet if you have the health and safety of your pet at heart. Be very careful about bleach, as much as it even very harmful to human if mistakenly consumed, it's equally that same inimical to pets.

It's going a very horrible experience should you out of carelessness be the cause of your pets demise. I doubt if you would ever be able to forgive yourself.
