Car Seats and Jackets.....NOT SAFE!

So as the winter is approaching here in the United States, especially up in North Country, I just want to remind everyone that putting your child into a car seat with their big puffy winter jacket on is totally UNSAFE and can be dangerous for your child if you get into an accident.
I have watched many videos and read so many different articles and they all say the same thing.

I did an experiment one day because, Im like there is no way I can be taking off 2 of the girls jackets to buckle them up to have to put them back on only 5 minutes later! You know how long it would take just to get them in and out, jackets on jackets off, so i tried something one day. I put one of the girls into her carseat with her jacket on, tightened the straps, buckled her in, then took her out of the car seat and took ger jacket off. I then put her back into the car seat and buckled it up, there was so much space between her and the straps, i could fit my whole arm through! If i would have been in an accident she would have been seriously hurt.

Now, everytime they get into the car with big puffy jackets on they have to take their jackets off and then get buckled. I would rather deal with a sick child (because of removing the jacket in the cold) than not have one anymore. What I usually do is heat the car up before we leave or keep a blanket in there for them.

So please, take the extra 2 minutes to take the jacket off and then buckle them! Our kids are precious and irreplaceable!

This is an awesome topic Ermini! most people do not know the dangers of putting the car seat straps over the jacket. When you get a chance please share the special jacket that people can buy to keep the kids safe. Maybe even a video? Kids need to be safe while riding in the car and this topic will make sure of it at least in the winter anyway. Thanks for sharing and i look forward to more of this kind of stuff from you.

Everyone go to the website that Ermini shared you can actually buy specialized jackets that are for this purpose. They are a bit pricey but you can also see how they work on the video they offer. Your kids are not safe in the winter in the car seat with jackets on. As a father i know how hard it is in the winter taking your kids in and out. Having to warm up the car and then take the jacket off before seat belting can be a pain. Thanks again for sharing!

This information is very helpful for us who are driving with kids. Everytime i drive a car i always buckle them up to keep them safe and far from harm. Accidents happens anytime and anywhere and would be in danger if you will not practice proper usage of car facilities to keep us away from damages after an accident. Ermini is just concerned to us just to remind us that do what is right. Thank you so much Ermini we will never forget your concern godbless to you.

This is a very important piece of information and I'm definitely going to be taking it to heart as it's not a nice thing having to mourn the loss of a child knowing that you could have prevented it from happening had you just being extra cautious with how you get them arranged and put in a car.

Accidents can happen without ones consent and it can with just a split second and in a blink of an eye. So it is better to be very careful with how one keeps his kids settled in a car while driving especially with what they are wearing and what car position they seat it. Personally, I don't fancy having a kid in the car front seat, it's never safe.

That is true it takes time and effort, but I think it worth the trouble because we want and need as our kids to be healthy and keep their immunity without destroying it with medicines.
