I was always loved coffee but had to stop drinking it when I was about 20 years old, because it was too hard on my nerves. I tried taking up the coffee habit a few years ago and just felt so jittery. Coffee tastes really good but I can only have decaf now.

Actually, that's amazing! I've been a heavy coffee drinker this past few months and get on edge a lot.

Do you have a method for dealing with the jittery nerves feeling? My sister suggested that I take Vitamin B supplements as that is good for smoothing out the nerves. Maybe you have tried it?

Do you use cream or sugar with Vietnamese coffee? I haven't drunk any coffee in a long time as most of it tastes very bitter to me. I would like to find another coffee to drink that is not so high in caffeine or bitter tasting.

At one time, I thought it would be fun to have hazelnut flavored coffee. It took me about a month to finish the entire canister. I was so sick of the flavor after that, so I have not had any flavored coffee since.

I don't mind coffee with sugar and milk, it's very sweet tasting. Are you addicted to coffee?

Believe it or not, I don't seem to get the jitters. I've been drinking coffee for so long that I think my body has become accustomed to it...lol Sometimes, I do get headaches when I haven't drank coffee for a day or two, so I find I have to reload when that happens.

I would love to be able to drink coffee again. Maybe I can find coffee that has lower caffeine content.
Or, maybe just one cup a day would be fine.

I can go about a day without tea, but then I get a headache. I think it's more related to dehydration, which causes headaches. Some people who drink lots of tea or coffee, get a chunk of their water consumption from that, rather than plain water. I've gone cold turkey before, like when I was having a baby. And, it can be done, but I'd rather have caffeine than not, even just a little.

I was reading how coffee can help prevent depression. Maybe the caffeine in coffee is beneficial, though possibly there are other mystery ingredients in coffee that benefit the body.

Coffee has a lot of minerals that are beneficial to the body.

One cup of coffee contains:

  • Riboflavin (Vitamin B2): 11% of the RDA.
  • Pantothenic Acid (Vitamin B5): 6% of the RDA.
  • Manganese and Potassium: 3% of the RDA.
  • Magnesium and Niacin (B3): 2% of the RDA.

one good benefit of coffee is that it somehow regulates the sugar content of the body thus preventing diseases that are related to excessive sugar like diabetes and other related illness.

It's sadly ironic that I can't drink coffee as it makes me too nervous and hyper. I have blood sugar issues sometimes and it would be good if coffee helped with that. I can't drink it anymore though. Are you addicted to coffee?

its better if every ingredient is stated in the label so that one will know what he is taking in his body. not comfortable with this mystery ingredient, . as per the depression, it may be good for that. i will research more on this.

Maybe a few sips of a gourmet coffee would be alright on occasion.
Though this past week I have difficulty even drinking diluted tea. It's starting to make me very nervous and on edge. Maybe that's a good thing, not needing caffeine anymore.

Caffeine is more likely to affect your body depending on your metabolism or hormone levels.
You might experience an extreme elevated feeling from coffee or tea when you drink it on an empty stomach, so it's best to only consume after you've eaten at least once for the day.

Coffee is good but too much of anything can wreak havoc on your nervous system. Just use coffee or any other caffeine containing liquid in moderation.

That seems almost unbelievable that coffee contains so many important minerals.

I'm going to double check that source.

It seems outrageous to think that coffee has any redeeming properties. Millions of people drink coffee, so it must be pretty good for you. Otherwise coffee would not have such a fan following.

Are you allergic to coffee? It's not impossible. If you have allergies to other beans or legumes including peanuts, then this could be a real possibility.

Just want to ask, if we try coffee for example 1 cup.. can we got addicted just like that?

According to Wiki, you can get a mild caffeine dependence by drinking as little as 100 mg of coffee (or tea) a day. That means you would suffer a withdrawal after stopping, such as by experiencing headaches, grogginess, moodiness, etc.

It's a smarter idea to avoid coffee (or just never start drinking it) unless you really need it to stay awake on the job. And still there are better ways to stay awake such as by going to bed very early; taking a shower or going outside to breathe the fresh air when you feel tired.

I started drinking coffee a few years ago and now only drink one cup of weak coffee a day. It's just enough to help take the edge off any drowsiness I might be feeling when I wake up. Then I'm good to go for the day. Are you addicted to coffee?

Not many people are so lucky enough to have such a good metabolism.

I need a little more than weak coffee to stay awake.

Maybe I am becoming the same way. I was a heavy coffee drinker for much of my teens and into my twenties. And, then my system changed and now I cannot tolerate large amounts of caffeine. For awhile I was able to have four or five cups of tea daily. That was true during this past year. Then this week, I started noticing how jumpy and nervous that I would get after just one cup of tea.

I wonder if maybe it would be best to just cut out caffeine all together. I have done it before. Maybe I just don't need it anymore.

I am going to switch brands of tea to see if that helps or change to decaf tea. I feel the need to drink tea. I don't know if it's a craving for caffeine or just needing to hydrate.

I'm a coffee lover I must admit, and yes I'm addicted to coffee, I think everybody is. I know that many people start to drink coffee as a kid, for example my sister, and she has been drinking coffee since then. In my case, I didn't like coffee until a few years ago when I started to drink it and now I enjoy it. Now I drink a cup of coffee every day at 3 p.m. I don't need it in the morning and this cup in the afternoon is enough for me.

I started drinking tea when I was a boy. Tea was the preferred drink for all time and all occasions. However, during the winter, we used to drink tea. I don't know why my parents served tea in the summer and coffee in the winter. later, when I grew up, I began drinking coffee more. I tried various kinds of coffee, from espresso to cappuccino, and latte, and I settled with espresso. I like my coffee strong. I take 6-7 cups of coffee in a day, sometimes more. I guess I am addicted to coffee.

Really got addicted to it. Although I only drink 3-in-1 ready to mix coffee and I stick to only one brand. I don't even try to drink black or any heavily caffeinated coffee as I have low tolerance on caffeine. I also only drink in the morning and the afternoon cause its really hard to sleep at night assuming I drink past 6 in the evening.

Since my childhood i never drink coffee because i don't like the taste and someone told me too much drinking of it is bad in health so better i stop to avoid getting an addiction in to it. But when i started working in night schedule, my co-worker suggested me to drink coffee to keep me in the mood and to avoid sleepy feeling. Since then i getting addicted into it and so far no side effects only i can't sleep well during my rest days and i think this is the effect of coffee addiction but i do not want to stop because it helps me to keep active in work and get into focus. Coffee is the best alternative way also for people who doesn't have time to eat breakfast.

When I was a kid, I am always wondering what's coffee taste like? So the time I reached the right age to drink some coffee, I tried it. It is so delicious! It always complete my day. I drink for three to four cups a day. And I didn't notice that I get addicted to it. But because of the side effects of drinking too much coffee, I control drinking it. I also try to drink at Starbuck's coffee. They offer the best coffee I ever drink and I want to taste more of it.
