What was your favorite book to read as a child?

One of my favorite books to read as a child was The Lord of the Rings. The book was so rich and detailed, with all these amazing characters. My other favorite was Sir Nigel by Sir Authur Conan Doyle.

oh! I was a huge fan of these books when I was a little kid. So much more enjoyable than the cartoon version. The books were always fun and full of imaginative stories and colorful characters and good life lessons. What was your favorite book to read as a child?

The Velveteen Rabbit.

aww! Yeah, I remember reading this book as part of a summer library contest. It was beautiful but sad as I remember it.

I loved the Shel Silverstein books.

In the fourth grade, I memorized a Shel Silverstein poem and recited it as my mother watched. It was one of those 'parents visit school' days. She was so proud of me. I was so happy that she was pleased with the poem. What was your favorite book to read as a child?

When I first started reading books, I was still reading the Little Golden Books, and my favorite story on there was The Pokey Little Puppy. I loved that story when I was a little kid, and I could just about quote every page by heart.
Once I started school, our teacher used to read books to us every day, and my favorite one was called The Black Stallion by Walter Farley, from which the movie of the same name was eventually made. There was a whole series of books by this author, and after I finished the Black Stallion series, then I started on the Island Stallion series, and it seems to me that there were other series in the wonderful horse books written by Walter Farley, and beautifully illustrated by Marguerite Henry.

Well, since English isn't my first language, I couldn't speak/read anything in it. I always read the translated books in my native language.

I remember that two of my favorite books were actually The Little Prince and the fairy tales from Hans Christian Andersen. I must have read the Little Prince like 50+ times as a kid. I just loved the whole book and the cute illustrations. At first, I didn't understand all of the hidden meanings but my mother helped me. It's still one of my all time favorite books. Everybody should read it at least once and think about the lessons that you can learn.

Snow White, my all time favorite book. Fairy tale book was my kind of thing when I was a child. My mom uses to buy me story books when I was still a child, and the story of Snow White is one thing I really love and maybe can never forget. I have read Sleeping Beauty, Thumbelina, Pinocchio and a lot of fairy tales too.

When I was a child I read Hans Christian Anderson and Grimm Brothers. My favourite story book was Rapunzel. I always wished I was that prince. I also enjoyed frog Prince, but I did not want to be a Frog. As a teenager, I read Arthur canyon Doyle and RL Stevenson. Some of my favorite books from my childhood are abridged version of Kidnap, A Tale of Two Cities, Treasure Island, Great Expectation, Count Monte Cristo etc.

I read one of our local book written by one of the most influential writers of old, Sir Chinua Achebe. The book is things fall apart that took time to explain how our cultures and traditions happen in this part of the world. I must say that I enjoyed reading that book while still young.

Oh that's a hard one, based on the fact I was always reading what I could grab. But for sure, the Brother's Grimm fairy tales were my favorites. And I mean all of them, I was a book eater as much. Also, Tom Sawyer by Mark Twain was a very dear one, I got really scared when kids were in the cave, and Joe was there too.

I'm more like the type of kid that likes to read comics but I also do love reading fairy tale books, where I'd be imagining myself being the guy and I would save all the princess that are probably in danger. What was your favorite book to read as a child?
