Do you like gardening? Are you a green thumb?

When I was young growing up, I had a fairly large garden. The best part of it was that it used to back out into a really large field and we'd spend many a summer holiday playing shooty bang bang or hide and seek and building dens and swings from the trees. We'd even have bonfire parties where all the local community would come and we'd cook jacket potatoes and bangers on the fire and let off fireworks. Great memories! But my old queen really used to love her gardening and would plant and tend rose bushes and things like that. And my dad planted a plum and pear tree and a goose bury bush which used to flower every year and we'd have these massive, delicious and juicy plums and pears and that, it was awesome.

And then when I got my first place, (a ground floor flat) I had my own small garden (although it was pattioed). But there was a small area at the back that was just basically mud that I planted some nice bushes and mini-trees and things in it and I planted and potted a lot of herbs as well like Mint, Parsley, Peppermint, Chives, Oregano and Coriander and the like. It was really nice in the summer and we'd always go out and cut a few sprigs off and have them in our salads and that. Plus the smell was really nice but we did used to get a lot of bugs and bees and things!!

That was my first taste for gardening and I know it has a lot of stigma attached to it in that some people think it's a woman's job but that's not true! Gardening isn't just for women only. And anyone can enjoy doing it. It gets you outside, in the fresh air, in the sun and it can be very rewarding as well when all your hard work comes to fruit!

I only have a small garden right now and it's all pattioed. But one day I'm hoping to get out there, dig up the slabs and lay down some nice turf and maybe plant some fruit trees and herbs and things like that again. It's just so relaxing doing a spot of gardening and it can be very rewarding later on when it's all growing and looking great.

Oh my gosh, how can gardening be just a woman's job? I suppose mowing the lawn would be the man's job then? LOL

Well I can mow quite nicely. I am also quite a goer with a chainsaw. Not in a crazy ass way, but I can certainly chop down a tree!

But back to gardening. I LOVE it. There is just nothing better than going outside and getting all dirty digging in the garden. Growing up my parents had a small holding and we had a massive veggie garden. We grew so many things, not to sell but for ourselves. Tomatoes, strawberries, guavas, lemons, mielies (damn what you call it? Corn?), potatoes... you name it we had our own.

Now my parents have gone bigger, from that 2 acres small holding to a 350 hectare farm. I guess the gardening gene is in me?

We rent now so I don't want to mess around with the owners garden, plus I don't want to put a whole stack of work in and then have to leave it behind. It is not about the work, it is that I will struggle to leave it.

So yes I have some pots around our stoep (verander? porch?) and I have cherry tomatoes, origanum, rosemary, sweet basil, coriander and parsley growing. It is not much but it is mine. I dream about the day we buy our own home and I can plant them in our own garden!

Yes I do enjoy garden plantation, ever since my childhood my mother trained me to appreciate the importance of agriculture and told me never to let go of it all the days of my life.

I'm taken to agriculture for a very long, and even at this moment, I still don't see myself as being able to ditch agriculture and my garden work as I enjoy both of them very well.

Mostly, I love growing vegetables and fruits in my garden, they seem nice and lovely when taken good care of without having to be going to be market to buy the vegetables since it's already readily available in my garden. Stress saved.

I am really a fan of gardening. We have a garden in the house and I am the one who takes care of it. Even in school, I help in gardening. I don't know why but everytime I see a disorganize garden, I offer my help.

I have my garden that I mostly plant all the native green plants and it always a delight for me to plant more.My crops are organically cultivated, I don't add chemicals to my plant,I just add natural manure and there all blossom favorably. The good thing about my vegetable plant is that despite the fact that I don't make money from it but I eat very fresh vegetables all the time I need to cook with green plants.

I love gardening, but I don't know how to grow plants. Because I'm new to this business. I admit that I wasn't attracted to gardening before. Because I lived in a big city, had a good job, and went to parties on weekends. And during the quarantine, a lot of things changed in me and I wanted to move to the countryside and start my own garden. Well, I think this is the best decision of my life. And so I want to ask you for a couple of recommendations and tips about various blogs about plants. For example, this blog caught my attention https://www.hobbyplants.com/pothos...-the-difference/, I liked the pictures and detailed description of plants and information about how to properly care for them. This is exactly what I need. But if you have some tips for a novice gardener, please share them with me.

I just love the garden and everything that goes with it. For me, it's something of a relaxation and a way to achieve pleasure through eye contact with the flowers, trees, and manicured facades. A garden can look fantastic at any time of year, especially if you have a greenhouse in the winter where you could grow flowers and other plants. One important aspect of gardening is comfortable tile that would be easy to walk on and still look very neat! I'm truly ecstatic now that I have a beautiful walkway, incredible flowers, and admiring looks from my neighbors

I really love irises, blue and black (rare). It is possible to grow irises 2020irisconvention.org on any soils, but they like more light loamy and sandy loamy ones with a neutral or slightly acidic reaction. And if your site has acidic soil, then irises will grow well, but they will not bloom. In addition, irises growing on acidic soils can get sick with such a dangerous disease as bacteriosis. Therefore, liming of the soil is necessary. You can also neutralize its acidity with ground chalk or wood ash. If the soils are heavy, they can be significantly improved by adding sand, peat, or old 3-5 year old compost. We improve peat soils by introducing organic matter, or you can add soil of a heavier composition.
