Not everyone wants to turn their home into a haunted house and sell it out for the night and not everyone wants to! And if you happen to have some skills in the creation of costumes (perhaps you've been making your kids already for years) or you already have skills in the sewing department and can access all the different materials, fabrics and things to make them. • You can also buy old Halloween costumes online as well on sites like eBay and Gumtree. These are sometimes available in bulk buy shops and stores that bought too many and never sold them all. Sometimes if the costumes aren't of something that was cool last year but isn't any more and something evergreen then you're onto a winner if you can sell them all at full price. But you can also find and buy used costumes too. These are the costumes people wore out for one night and are in good condition still and can be cleaned or just resold if in really good condition. Or you can add to it and improve it in someway and resell it anyway.
  
• Regarding saying evergreen. What I mean is some costumes might be of something that was cool or popular for that year. But the following year not at all. So you don't want to buy tons of some customs like that and get stuck with them. You want to try and find costumes that are cool and always popular although it's good to try and stick with trends and what's cool or in for the times of the year you're in.
  
• If you're going to be buying and reselling used costumes. You would need to make sure they are perfectly clean but you could improve on the costume as well by adding something to it or making some alterations and improvements to it. If you are savvy with a needle and have sewing skills or a machine and all of that then you can offer hem, sewing and alteration services for people's old and used costumes. Just make the required fix and wash and iron them and add to them if you want and people will be willing to pay you nicely for that if it's a costume they want to wear or even sell. You can find many great ideas for the best Halloween costume ideas for 2016 online if you search around. Some popular costume ideas based off movies alone are Jigsaw, Leatherface, Chucky, Pinhead, Psycho, Carrie, The Predator, Frankenstein's monster, Ghostface, Count Dracula, Werewolf, Hannibal, Alien and other horror movie villains. Any villain from recent movies like Ghostbusters or of course one of the Suicide Squad characters or something.

Take something simple like this Ghostbusters Slimer costume. They are selling like hot cakes on Amazon and eBay right now! Because the movie is this year. Some for up to $111! If you could make 10 of these and sell them at $10-20 a pop, that's $100-200 quid right there. Considering how you could make a slimer outfit quite easily from a couple of large bright green bags and a painted face on it and away you go!
