Many people today are looking for a way to make money online by using some website, whether their own website, or a marketplace like Listing Dock. And Listing Dock is a great site to make money online with if you want to make money by selling stuff! I'm talking about actual physical items stuff. Stuff that you can buy and then resell at a profit.
This is nothing new! People have been buying and reselling since the invention of money itself. It's called arbitrage. The art of finding something at a cheap price, that you can then resell at a higher price yourself. You either buy the product first, then send it to your buyer. Or you wait for a buyer to buy it, then you buy it and then send it to the buyer. You then get to keep any profit that was made on that sale. Nice and simple!
Is it really that simple Mike?
Well yeah it is and doesn't have to be anything less as simple as that. Of course, you will have to find things you can buy and then resell at a higher price. And you will have to go about creating an appealing description for them. Obviously you wont want to put it up for sale at too high a price. This is known as extortion and isn't really ethical. It's not immoral to sell something at a higher price. That's just business! But you will want to be fairly fair in the pricing of the item that you're reselling. The higher your price is, the less sales you'll get. Especially if people are able to do some research and find it for sale elsewhere for around half your price! So you'll want to price it at price that isn't extortionately high but is going to make you a profit of sorts when it sells. This is particular good for high ticket items which sell for upwards of $10,000 dollars. As you can make a nice profit from that. But for items that sell for around $100 RRP, and you sell for around $150, you'll not make as much profit from it but it's still all profit at the end of the day.
Now when it comes to actually make a profit from the things you are selling / reselling on Listing Dock, it all comes down to taking action! Lots of people want to know how to make money and the read all the how-to guides and watch all the videos of gurus and experts telling them what to do and how they done it and all that. But many of those people don't take action! Then later down the line you hear people calling them gurus and experts guides BS because they didn't make any money from it. But they didn't put what they was taught into action! Today I'm going to help you to put this concept and theory into action!
You know, when it comes to selling anything anywhere, it's all about how you're selling it. When selling stuff on Listing Dock, you'll want to make sure it has a catchy headline. And a very thorough and detailed description. The more you put about it, the more helpful it will be to someone, and the better your chances are of actually selling it. The trick here is to make sure you thoroughly research the item you are selling. Check out other sites that have it for sale and look at what they're saying about it, what points they have bulleted and highlighted about it. The more you know about it, the better you will be able to write a compelling description for it and that will help it sell.
Creating Your Listing Dock Account
The first thing to do, is to create your Listing Dock account. If you have not done so already. This is super quick and easy to do. Just enter your username, email address and password and enter your full name and hit submit. Bang you're in! You can also list some of your skills here as well. Enter any skills you have in tag form, separated by spaces (IE: php, programming, design). This will help people find you who are looking for those specialist skills on Listing Dock! You can also join using a service such as Yahoo!, AOL, MyOpenID, LiveJournal, Blogger or WordPress.
Become familiar with the rules and regulations
Listing Dock is a professional marketplace. Like any marketplace like eBay, Amazon, there are rules and regulations you must follow when using that site. To make sure you are familiar with the rules and regulations. Check out the Listing Dock Terms of Service and Responsible Listing Guidelines. They only take a minute or so to read if you quickly skim over them but doing so will mean you're less likely to break them and get an infraction later on.
Improve peoples trust in you
Now you're registered and signed up, you'll be a Level 1 user. Listing Dock is a level driven marketplace where those with higher levels have more benefits and perks than those at level 1 for example. Also those with the highest levels are considered more trust worthy to buy from as you have to meet certain conditions to reach the higher levels. That will happen for you in time, and you can speed up the process of going from Level 1 to Level 2, to Level 3 by checking out the User Levels page and seeing what you need, or need to do, to get to those higher levels.
In the mean time, you can increase peoples trust in your by verifying your mobile phone number and physical address. Confirming your mobile number only takes a couple minutes. But confirming your real physical address may take up to a week as it involves getting a card in the mail with a code on it you have to enter. Once this is done though it will give buyers that much more confidence and trust in you knowing you've done that.
List your first service!
Now you're familiar with how the site works. And how to increase your user levels, it's time to list your first service for sale! This is pretty easy and straight forward. Just go to the Sell Something page and fill out all the required details. As said earlier, you'll need a catchy title, a good description also, and some images of the actual product that you're selling. Select a category and add some tags. Tags would be keywords of your product. Put your price that you want to sell it for and any instructions to the buyer. You'll need their address to send it to so use this field to ask for their address. Put here any other terms and conditions you have also.
If you filled in all the fields correctly, once you've hit submit, you'll have a service up selling your product at the price you put. If you want to make any changes to that listing at any time you may do so by editing it. You can do that by going to your Manage Listings page and then clicking the Edit link. You may see here a Bump link. The bump is just that, it will bump your listing to the top of the category every day. You can earn bumps by doing daily tasks on the site like logging in every day, completing orders on time, getting affiliate sales or by posting a discussion on the Community Discussions.
Once you make a sell, the money you'll earn will go into your account. You'll then be able to withdraw this money to your PayPal account. For that you'll need a PayPal account of course! Also the money you earn from a sale isn't available for withdraw right away. You'll need to wait for some time for it to clear first. First the buyer will need to either leave their rating/feedback for it which will speed it up to one day. Otherwise it's 5 days after you have made the sale that it will be available for withdraw.
Promote your service
Once your product service is live on Listing Dock, that page will be permanent, for as long as you are selling that product. So you should then promote this page to drive traffic to it. You would promote it the same way as you would promote anything on a website. You will want to make use of social media promotion and look into purchasing other SEO services for it also. You should think about SEO when creating your product listing. Try to find and incorporate some long-tail keywords into it and make sure it has a really good SEO friendly description so the Search Engines can know what it's about and well index it. This will pay off in the long run.
So, in a nutshell

I recently just added my first product, just last week, and I have made 3 sales already here which is very exciting. I can't wait to see how many more sales I can make.
And the added bonus of listing things here is that you can create discount coupons and also set the commission for affiliate sales. I made my affiliate commission to be 20% to encourage other people to promote my product Yes that extra 10% will come out of my profit margin but lets not forget that I wouldn't have made that sale if the affiliate doesn't get it right?
And I am also offering discount to my subscribers too if they buy my book after subscribing to my newsletter so there are loads of ways to go about this!
I am really looking forward to your next post, I am sure I will learn something new! Lovely MIke, you know I think a lot of people think that it will be so hard to start selling things online and really it isn't rocket science. I like the way you have set it out in a nice simple to understand format, and this is because while it isn't rocket science there are a few things that you need to do in order to get the sales!
