50 Legit Ways to Make Money Before Christmas from Home

With Christmas coming just around the corner, everyone is battening down the hatches, tightening the old purse strings and cutting back to save money so they can buy their loved ones Christmas presents. And if you're trying to save money, or looking for ways to make some extra money for Christmas. I'm going to post 50 Legit Ways to Make Money Before Christmas, from Home! I'll do 50 different posts and then link them all together. And each method is a tried and tested way and confirmed working way to make money.

So with that said, here's money making method #1.

1. Hold a Yard Sale.

Every year, we have more and more junk just piling up in our home or garages. We get given electronic goods or something else altogether that eventually gets consigned to the back of the closet or wardrobe or stuffed in the attic to be long lost and forgotten about. And many people have old DVD's, CD's, bikes, power tools or even kitchen appliances that they don't use or even want or have a purpose for anymore.

So how about holding a Yard Sale?

50 Legit Ways to Make Money Before Christmas from Home

There are several people on my street that do this. So once or twice a year, usually leading up to Christmas, they'll put everything they want to sell out on their front yard and sit out there with a flask of coffee in some deck chairs and stick price labels on everything that they want to sell. Then as people walk past, they can mosey and browse through it all and see if there's anything they like.

They don't usually sell all their stuff. But what they don't sell they just pack away again and then put it out during another Yard Sale at another time of the year.

The best times to hold a Yard Sale are coming up to Christmas in December. But the warmer months can be good as well as there are more people walking about.

However as the purpose of doing this it to make some extra cash for Christmas, now is a good time to go through all your old stuff and see what you no longer want or need. And start listing it all down along with how much you'll take for each item.

You could put a sign up in your front yard to say there's a sale on. Although people will be able to see that. But you could also advertise it in your local shop windows. Whether it's the local corner store or some high street shop windows. And you may even be able to place a small ad in some local newspapers or magazines to drum up more business too.

Got a gazebo? Due to it mostly being wet and rainy this time of year, it might be good for you to put a gazebo up and place everything you want to sell under it.

It's not essential, but it can create a better focal point. You could even create a large banner to let people know that there is a Yard Sell on. Just in case they wondered why on earth you've decided to display all of your unwanted obsessions on the front lawn lol.

So that's Christmas money making method #1!

Have you ever held a yard or garage sell?

What tips can you give people that want to do it?

Thanks and best of luck!

Mike.

This is great people actually make a living doing this. We have a few yard sales a year and its profitable, we mostly sell new things and some used things we pick up for free around the town. Some tips i have is to check your local town ordinance about having these types of sales before you do them. Some towns do not allow these types of sales and some towns only allow up to 3 a year. I have ways of getting around this for those who want to make a living from the yard. If your neighbor has a yard sale you can ask them to help and sell some of your stuff. Make sure you give them a cut and im sure they will have no problem helping you do this. If your neighbor and you get together you can host double the amount of yard sales a year using each others homes. The other thing is i would not put sales on anything price things based on what people are driving you will be surprised how much more you can get for certain things.

yes, having a yard sale is a perfect idea!!! When I was growing up my mother and grandmother used to have yard sales every couple of years to weed out all of the things they have collected over the years, or stuff they no longer have any use for or need! LOL my mom is one of those people who likes to buy things she think she'll use all the time, end up using it one or two times and then itll make its way to the basement or attic for a few years until it is time to have another yard sale! LOL

my husband and i have had our share of yard sales too. there was one summer where we set up everything every weekend and sold quite a bit of things. This summer i think we had one 2 or three times and i made $20 bucks the first day! that worked for me!! but now that it is snowing and cold here i like to put my stuff up on those buying and selling apps or even craigslist! once the weather gets nice again, i will be having more yard sales!

The yard sale is a good opportunity to make money in any period of the year because people are always interested to buy old stuff. I know a man who bought a painting from a yard sale and after a few years, it was proven that its painting had a value of over a few thousands of dollars and he bought it with only a few dollars.

I have never done this before. Ithink it's a great idea and I would love to do it but sadly in my country would be very insecure having people you don't know come into your yard, because thieves might take the chance to enter your house and rob you. Insecurity in the streets It's pretty hard these days in Venezuela so unfortunately I don't think it could be a choice.

I haven't really thought about taking up such measures in trying to realize money during Christmas period and as much as I haven't done it before, I wouldn't fail to attest that it looks very interesting and might actually be very helpful in helping one make a good living.

Maybe I would subscribe to doing this upcoming year and see how much I realize in order to decide if I would make it a regular routine and a source of making a reasonable amount of money at Christmas periods.

That time period has lot of business ideas going to work. And some of the time you can see that money making takes a lot of time. You can see that yard sales and the online ebay. It seems to be working for some of the people. I think on that note I'd say christmas can be a good time to try it out.

This is actually amazing for those people who need to sell their old or vintage items that they don't probably need. I remember selling items like this one but mostly are new items, like we did sell pants, shirts and even shoes. We did sell like half of it because people who did look, saying our items are probably expensive for them.

I think Yard sale can be a good idea. Though it can be hard to pull the sales. Some of the time yard sales require us to have items that are worth buying. And it can be good enough on the build up side. You have to be really clear on that part. I have personally noticed that some of the time it may not always work out for many different type of the holidays either. So depending on how that works it may work out eventually.

Well, there are actually a lot of great ways to get some ''additional'' money to your salary. Especially when you need to get some more money before a certain holiday just like it is Christmas in this case. Well, i don't really think that the yard sale is the best idea in this case. You cannot make it a permanent thing. While there are a hell a lot of side hustle ideas which might help you earn more money on a daily basis without putting in a great effort. However an yard sale would be a good idea, in order to entertain your kids in a way.

Hi Mike, what a cool post! My family and I will soon move into a new house, so earning some extra money from our current home sounds like a great idea, particularly before Christmas. As you can imagine, moving into a new house is quite expensive, so I've been trying to avoid as many expenses as possible. For example, I managed to estimate the approximate cost of my future home free of charge on the https://www.boutiquehomeplans.com/cost-to-build website. In other words, if you're willing to do a bit of research, you can save a lot of money and spend them elsewhere. Cheers!
