Chocolate Rice Krispie Cakes, Perfect for Easter!

Easter is just around the corner which is a perfect time to get your baking heads on! Having kids I always look for something simple to bake with the kids for Easter and with this one there really is no baking at all, it's just a simple recipe and perfect for both adults and children.

Ingredients

Rice Krispies
Chocolate for melting
Easter candy such as mini eggs

Method

  1. Place the chocolate in a tub and put into the microwave for 30 second bursts until the chocolate is completely melted
  2. Place the Rice Krispies into a bowl and add the melted chocolate into a the bowl and mix until all the chocolate and Rice Krispies are mixed together
  3. Once all mixed together share out the Rice Krispie mix between cake cases.
  4. Place the mini eggs on top of the Rice Krispie mixture and place the cakes into the fridge for around 20 minutes for the chocolate to harden
  5. Take out of the fridge and enjoy!

These are perfect to hit the spot when you get a chocolate fix too!

I suppose those mini eggs give this the Easter flavour. May be it could be done at other times as well by replacing the Easter eggs with some other candy. Seems a simple recipe but I doubt if I will get rice krispies here

It's even better if you replace the Rice Krispies with cornflakes. Especially if they are the honey ones which makes them even better when you top them with chocolate. I love the Rice Krispies ones as well but they are nothing on the cornflake cakes. And when you put some mini eggs on top, they are just absolutely beautiful. I just can't stop eating them!

Ok, now I want to cook this recipe, and have a chocolate craving right now! That sounds really delicious, and I guess kids must become crazy about it. Also, it seems like you can give them different shapes, once they are more consistent by being on the fridge, so maybe you can give them Easter eggs shape. Definitively going to try to cook this for my cousins, and I will let you know their reaction.

This is a fun and quick way to make little cakes! I think I might try to make it, not only for Easter but you can change the recipe a bit and it will work for other holidays too. The only thing I'd do differently than in the recipe is to melt the chocolate in some other way, I am afraid of burning it in a microwave.

I personally have tried many types of recipes of this kind and I love to cook them, especially when I want to make my children happy with something good, prepared by me. In most sweet recipes I use chocolates from openthe.world/ because I tried other kinds of chocolate and I didn't like it as much as it was received in taste and appearance. In general, I am a very demanding person and I always choose only the best, regardless of the price and I have never respected the people who save everything they buy and do not think about the quality of the products.
