This is a magnificent looking animal. I hope that the programs mentioned are able to save this species. It is a pity that many types of animals are facing extinction currently.

Wow, this gorgeous looks angry hahaha. Really beautiful specimen indeed. So sorry these animals can't live the wild free as they should be, without being in danger, and unfortunately humans end up being their worst predator. Do you know if there is any kind of foundation where people can give donations for them?

Nice informative post Aplau!

I have seen this Lion tailed macaque before in a local zoo, Tamil nadu. But, I am unaware of the fact that this is a rare species.

It looks really magnificient and unique in its own way! It's tail resembles that of a lion's tail; that's why it is named as 'lion tailed macaque'.

That's one ugly animal, I wouldn't fancy having myself around such beast. The look on its face gives me the creep. Anyways it's God's creation but as they are going extinct, I think if they aren't much of contributing to the ecosystem, why go through the stress of running programs probably be initiate artificial breeding?

In my own personal opinion, let's those ugly ass animal die off, there are better looking ones that could replace them. Please let no one bite off my head, it's my humble opinion. Lol.

Even though they're a rare species still, I don't mind or wouldn't probably touch them like they're the scary version of monkey for me. Like somehow I think I've already seen this kind of animal on a Disney show before, I just wasn't sure, but I bet this kind of monkey would literally be a villain, for sure.

Nelliyampathy, a small village in Kerala, southwestern India, is one of the greatest spots to watch lion-tailed macaques in what appears to be a relatively intact habitat. Many surrounding coffee and tea farms have been abandoned, and the landscape is slowly returning to its natural state. My driver, Joseph J. Erinjery, a gangly 27-year-old PhD student at the University of Mysore, notices a group of approximately 40 animals feasting in jackfruit trees and comes to a complete stop. The farcical tableau in front of us pits one of the world's tiniest macaques, weighing up to 20 pounds and standing two feet tall, against the world's largest tree-borne fruit, weighing up to 100 pounds and standing three feet tall. We have the biggest titles that you can do cross-play and view website here.
