Is eBay good for selling?

eBay is well known to many people for buying and selling items. But I was wondering if eBay is the best place to sell stuff? It's probably one of the best platforms out there considering how big the marketplace is and how many potential customers there are if you try to sell your products/old items there. But I read that they have some fees that are quite high and adding that to the PayPal fees, can you really make a decent profit from selling there? Do you guys have tips to maximise the profit I make selling my items there?

I've heard good reviews about eBay. Probably you need to up your rep first before selling all throughout the site market. I would however, recommend trying amazon. And also, don't you have any local or nationwide online market place on your country? I am assuming there is because, it is really popular now.

We have quite a lot of local online marketplaces over here in the United Kingdom and a lot of nationwide marketplaces as well. I think the problem with them though is that the people that use those always tend to try and haggle on the price. I hate that because when I put a price down, it's usually as low as I can go and I don't want to be bothered by people trying to lower the price even more.

Ebay was good but they didn't maintained their site and the service. Instead they are just cashing in the money. And Amazon eventually took off. And they seem to be doing lot better in that case. You can see that ebay seems to be a good marketplace though. But not sure how long that remains the case.

Ebay was good for selling, back in the days when ebay was still ebay, but now i can’t say for sure whether it's still cool to sell on ebay, and make huge profits , because it's already saturated and i have been scammed they once, you should try other big online markets with good credibility, like amazon, or Alibaba

Yeah! It's easy to get scammed on eBay! I've seen a lot of people who got scammed and never get the actual products. Most of the time, the content on the packages are just a garbage. I think eBay should fortify their security so their customers will keep using their service, otherwise, they'll lose business. Amazon and Alibaba for me are best and so far, safest to buy or sell a product.

I stopped using eBay long time ago, and I can clearly say that they are already out of market, because I don't actually know what will drag me to eBay, when I can get that at Amazon or Alibaba and have piece of mind.

This is my sincere observation,eBay is one place we can get varieties of products at a cheaper rate too but scammers have turned it to their hubs where they take out their frustration of lack on innocent people, they are just there to scam people of their hard earned money .The ultimate problem of ebay is just the security aspect, anyone can list anything, get peoples money and walk away without traced.

AliBaba is a bit more specialist so I wouldn't recommend it for everyone. Amazon on the other hand is definately a great site although their fees are a bit too high especially when you compare it to the eBay fees. I have also been scammed quite a bit on eBay when I was selling some online gaming codes but luckily for me PayPal had my back and made sure they couldn't scam me out of my money.

I think that eBay will stay one of the top sites to sell things on. But yeah, I did read some complaints about the annoying fees that they have... I am not sure how high they are because I have personally never tried selling things on it. With the years though, eBay also got some stiff competition with companies like Amazon. I think that recently Amazon has gotten better and better with allowing people to sell things through their website and the affiliate options.

eBay isn't bad by any means since it covers a huge market but you can also try your luck on Amazon Is eBay good for selling?

Amazon has offered a better option unlike what we have with eBay where you have to sell higher to meet up with some cost. This is the reason I don't usually go with eBay when I'm doing certain purchases at the moment.

Many years ago I did sell a handful of items on Ebay. At the time I don't think their fees were overly extreme, but it was a rather long time ago. Member ranking definitely played a part in how much traffic I had. Plus, a lot just depends on the item you are selling and the demand for it. I wasn't familiar that Amazon was a place now where an average person could sell items. Sometimes it's good to have an option to sell a few things online for extra cash and I think Amazon would be a better option to do so.

Ebay is decent for selling. However, I prefer to use Amazon as I have more trust in the Amazon support services. I am currently using local online store sites as well.

My sister has a very small business of his own, and she thinks exactly the same. From her own experience, she says Ebay is a good platform, but Amazon gives her offers a better service. However, her best allies are social media sites, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, have been amazing for her. So far, her best clients have come from those sites, and she likes the fact that she can interact with them.

I had a friend who sells her handmade craft items and greetings cards at Zazzle and Ebay. She had payments from both sites and the income is good. You need to know the percentage of deduction from the sites , increase your capital first before you set the market price for your items.

I've not heard of Zazzle before and it seems it's going to be a good place to sell stuffs as well. Understanding everything about the pricing and how much commission to pay on a site is what sellers got to consider as well.

I would say that it is definitely worth looking into. I have never bought or sold anything from eBay because Amazon has literally everything I could ever ask for, but the way I see it there is a reason why it has been around for so long. I have friends who are collectors and often look for many obscure things on eBay first before they look elsewhere. They personally cannot praise that website enough, so if you were to ask them, I'd say that they would definitely recommend eBay for both buying and selling. Give it a try and see for yourself, it's the best way to tell!

Our family sells retail on Ebay and we have been doing it for a few years now. So far it has served us very well and I haven't really found a suitable replacement for it up until now, not that I am unhappy with their site, but just that it's always better to have a backup. I heard that fees might be higher in the US or that the high taxes there might make it a bit more difficult to turn a profit, but I'm guessing it's not too bad since there seems to still be a lot of US sellers there. We pay fees to appear higher on search results, but the price is worth it for the revenue we get in return.

We sold many stuff using ebay in the past years, sometimes I buy products from local manufacture and posted it in ebay or amazon. The only thing that, we do stuff was asking help from
people, who have knowledge of how to market our product. We gave them
commissions worth of his service and marketing.
In eBay's reputation, sellers and buyers can give feedback to each other after a transaction been made. Merchants would sell items/products at lower prices. Then hoping that buyers will give them any positive feedback for reputation, you ask for it, or offer to offer more feedback in exchange.

I think eBay is great for selling. I've heard of many success stories from close friends and people I'm acquainted with online. A friend who uses eBay to sell regularly mainly targets niche areas such as collectible shirts and hats. He has turned a $1 hat into more than $200 of profit through eBay.

Currently, I'm using eBay for purchases, especially items that I can't find anywhere else (imported goods, mainly). Though a word of caution if you're thinking of selling on eBay: don't try to list expensive stuff on there as it's easy target for scammers and whatnot. People say eBay and in return PayPal often side with the buyer than the seller, even if they are scammers.

Well, i can say from my experience that eBay is great and fast and secure too for selling or buying.
I usually buy stuff cheaper from other websites and sell it on eBay and make money by doing so.And also if someone is scamming you, you can report them and they'll give you the money back.
So this being said I think that eBay is worth trying at least once and maybe get stuff cheaper.

Ebay is the go to shopping buy and sell site, i think ebay have security system that ensures transaction is secured and safe from fraud. It is very convenient way of selling used or new products because its online, you dont have to go out and rent a space for you to sell stuff. Its free advertisement right in your fingertips.

I've heard different kind of reviews about eBay. Some of it is good and some are bad. Some say eBay's product are untrustworthy and most of them are fake. But some says even if its fake its good item to think that the price is cheap. That's why before we buy we should really make sure if it's fake or original if its good quality or not worth it to pay.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Yeah, I have read that there has been quite a lot of fake products on eBay. I know that quite a lot of people have been scammed in the past which is a shame but I do believe that overall the site is trustworthy if you use your head. A lot of the times that these products are fake, the description will have something in a tiny font about this. In that case, if you didn't read it and bought it, they won't give you a refund.

The site is standard in terms of transacting businesses and that's the core reason they are still at the top of the e-commerce online market. However, when it comes to pricing, they are quite far when you compare with other sellers.

yea,eBay is a good place in term of selling any thing but just like a market that it is,you'll meet both good and bad people.I tell people that is place is not bad, what makes a place bad are the people in it.When trying to sell in eBay you have to be careful because they're a lot of fraudsters and scammers there.I'm writing from experience.

I have not sold anything on eBay, but I've got friends that did business on the site and they have given good reviews about the site. So, I think the site is one you can sell products from considering how they try to protect the customers as well as the sellers on the site from any issues.

One thing I know also about eBay is that they are a household name when it comes to E-commerce and they will do everything within their might to protect the good reputation they have built over the years.

I have never sold anything on ebay even though I have two digital products listed on ebay. I am trying to sell domains and websites on ebay, however, I have not found any luck. Nevertheless, I believe ebay is a good platform for sellers. If you have items to sell, you can sell on ebay, even if you don't manufacture products, you can acquire products and sell via ebay. You don't have money to acquire or manufacture products, no problem, you can start dropshipping business on ebay.

i think for me ebay is good. ebay is a legitimate website buy/sell market but like other people say amazon offer much better greater good service to their seller and buyer but for me it really depends on the user which he or she is prefer to use for selling or buying.

I think it is indeed good for selling. You can sell a lot of items. But you may need to watch out some of the local rules. For example you can see that india has rules of taxation. So that's something you may need to watch out too. It'd be not reasonable in that case to consider ebay selling to be any good in that case. I'd say try and get the items to sell one at a time. And that should be also more than enough to get you started. I think Amazon FBA is also worth taking a look at. You just need some items to start with.

Ebay is one of the best e-commerce platforms available. The best part is the auctions done you get good prices if you win a bid. The only problem is when you will have to wait especially a month or more to get your item especially if it is for free shipping.

Depends really on what you are selling and in what price bracket.

If you're selling cheap trinkets, you probably cannot compete with Asian sellers who are able to keep the prices down with low cost of living and state subsidized postal fees, but if you are selling something more expensive then being a "local seller" is obviously working for your advantage.

I would still like to recommend niche-specific sales platforms if such can be utilized, as you can probably find buyers much easier.

Yes ebay is a good for selling and buying products online. Ebay is founded a long time ago so we must say that the business transactions on the site is good. For some reason maybe there are some inconvenience that the buyers experience tend them to find other sites like amazon. But on my opinion eBay is fine.

I haven't tried eBay but, what I heard it is not that bad. Many people prefer eBay rather than Amazon. For me, I have tried Amazon and it is really great and secure there is no doubt. I also heard about Alibaba and seem pretty effective you should investigate and try it if you think it is a good idea.

Better than Amazon for sure. Ebay is a good place to sell niche items, and things that only a select audience would be interested in. Just be sure to keep the price as fair as possible. Otherwise you won't sell much. You should also stick to selling high quality items like electronics clothing or jewelry or old valuables. Anything else is a waste of time.

In my experience, Amazon is better. I have a little secret to share to you guys. Most of the items that was being sold in ebay came from another online selling site called AliExpress. It is cheaper in AliExpress than ebay so what they do is that they post items from AliExpress to ebay and give it a higher price so that they will gain income. In short, most of the items in ebay came from China because most or all of the seller in AliExpress is Chinese and most of them are bootleg or class A products.

I have been selling goods on eBay for quite some time and I really like the experience. I never really had any problems selling on eBay. Sometimes you can have difficult customers but I am always trying my best to resolve their problems and can say that I am successful as some customers keep coming back. However, I am currently developing some new products and expect to sell them on two new eCommerce sites that I have discovered.

Ebay is one of the best sites that there is for selling items and buying items. One of the best options is the fact that you can auction your items off and start the bid of your choice. I have successfully sold many items on eBay and I have never had a bad experience. If you do decide to sell on eBay just make sure that you get your products to the customer in a timely manner and you will be fine. Your first payment will take some time to go through, but it is well worth it after that.

Yes, eBay is great for selling items online. You have a huge market for items you are selling on eBay due to the fact that you can reach buyers living in many countries. It's integration with payment gateways like PayPal is also something adding to its appeal. Buyers have a secure way of paying for the items you are selling.

Ebay has been there long enough to prove that it is a good selling site. Every major selling site has a 'high' fee for everything. But I am sure there are a lot of sellers on ebay or in Amazon that profits well from selling. Review your 'capital' and project your probable conservative profit from using them. This is the first step to determine if it's worth selling your item.

I already have an account on Ebay but i'm still trying to figure out the shipping cost for my product. I have products that is quite affordable but when i tried to add it on the shipping cost the odds of selling it turned low. It doubled the amount and i'm still trying to figure out how i can cut the shipping cost. Although it's a more of an external thing, selling my products on Ebay might take sometime until i figure out what are my options.

Well, maybe ebay used to be a good trading platform, but now, in a pandemic, it's a terrible choice. Now any online store will be a terrible choice ... The fact is that the price for delivery can reach several thousand dollars, and this is definitely not profitable for the buyer. And besides, the ebay is losing more and more visitors every day. Amazon is engaged in monopolizing the Internet market, so most of the buyers are now at Amazon. Also, do not forget that both ebay and amazon have a system of coupons, which also depend on the final cost of the product. I personally often use coupons when shopping (I usually find coupons at DontPayFull). If you just have some things that you would like to sell and forget about them, then you can use the local site for selling used goods (Usually every state or even city has such sites).

Well. Depends on the scale of your business. The second it is considered a medium (scale and probably even earlier) you will need your own website. It will affect positively your sales, but don't abandon eBay. Having several sales channels is always a good idea. And with a bitcoin merchant account, you will be able to accept crypto as payments.
