what is your favorite natural wonder?
My favorite natural wonder is the Angel waterfall in Venezuela, is majestic to see it, it is the biggest waterfall in the world is located on the Canaima national park. Is amazing how nature can have this attributes that no one can do. The movie up was inspired in the Gran Sabana and you can see the waterfall in the movie. I wish I could go there one day. What is your favorite natural wonder? Why?

Thank you so much for posting our one and unique Angel Falls. Yes, the UP movie was based on this beautiful place, but also Canaima itself have been a location for another movies, like Dragonfly with Kevin Costner, and Point Break with the amazing Venezuelan actor Edgar Ramirez. What most people don't know, is that you should rather visit it while on raining season (june to December), otherwise the long trip trough the river is harder. This destination should be on the list of every tourist, hope someday it will be.

That is wonderful. That's why the falls really looks familiar. Because its the Angel falls. A lot people of people say that really looks majestic. And it's very enthralling when you are there.

My natural wonder is the pyramids of Egypt, i mean the great pyramids , The greatest architectural design of all time, in which up till now i don't know if anyone knows how it was built, who drew the plan, how it's was erected, and up till this day even the great archeologists and Arab architects can't produce a replica of that.
I really love the Pyramids, some say it was built by the Anunakis using water and space technologies or something like that , and they applied Archimedes principle of flotation to align the bricks and stone to form such an edifice. In which they used for transporting golds to palnetX also know as niburu after every 36,000 years. but i don't think i buy that bull crap tho.

Authord,
I have always wanted to cross the ocean and visit Morocco and Cairo. I have always wondered what it would be like to see the Great Sphinx. Whether giants, the Nephilim, the Annunaki, or man himself built these monuments, it would be pretty awesome to one day travel there from America and see them in all of their grandeur in person. No one really definitively knows how these great structures were built. Tha being said, they are not natural wonders; although, they are wonderful.

Man, we would be really good friends because we have same interests hahaha. The Great Sphinx has been on my dream list since forever, always have felt like pyramids are a must too. Unfortunately, not very wealthy enough to fulfill my list. And the closest I have been to Morocco is the small portion they have at Disney's Epcot Center, in the world pavilion in Orlando Florida. Not even close enough but I can say I was in touch with a part of the place.

ballyhara,
I hear you here, lol. I also really want to visit Angkor Wat and the pyramid structures of Machu Picchu; I doubt that I will ever make it to these exotic destinations (at least exotic for a guy who was born in Alabama), but I am drawn to them for some reason. It's not from watching Ancient Aliens or anything--ever since I was a kid, and I was born in 1972, I have been obsessed with pyramids, Atlantis, ancient cultures, and legends, myths, and histories of all sorts. So, if that is up your alley, we definitely would have a lot to talk about. Epcot is close to me, relatively speaking; I guess one day I could settle for that.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

ballyhara
Oh Cambodia, yes we are speaking the same language for sure. I think that is why I like Lara Croft's movie hahaha. And yes, Machu Picchu would awesome too. I'm not that far from Peru, but is not really easy or cheap to go down there. Yep, I would safe tons of money to get near of what Atlantis was, I do love ancient civilizations and places surrounded by exotic environments. At Epcot the only pyramid you will see is a very tiny representation of a Mexican one, at least it will give you the feeling that you have been close to one.

Except, the pyramids aren't a natural wonder, right? They're more of a man-made/constructed wonder! Though I do agree with you that they are wonder structures, especially given how long ago they were built.

Back on topic, I guess my favorite natural wonder is Angel's Landing in Zion National Park. Yea, it's not SUPER great, but it's accessible, especially to people who live in the US. You don't need to be a rock-climber or any gear. There are these metal poles inserted into the rock along the trail that are connected by chains that help your climb. And when you get the to the top, the view is AMAZING, and you have have a nice, flat area to rest or to have a snack break!

Well, but it has not proven to be man made or so they so, i was just referencing the conspiracy theorists. And yeah i do think it was made by men, but you can't rule it out from being natural until proven otherwise with solid fact!

Pyramids also was my favorite one! I guess humans years ago had access of vast knowledge of our universe. I am amazed with the accurate architecture of three pyramids. I think the pyramid itself had a
mathematical calculation to measure stars. In documentary I'd watched,
it points out a constellation where some alien visitors taught us of how
to build massive buildings, such pyramids.
I don't know, if it is true or not, because most of the scholars believes it. Time will
tell, if the theory might be true or not.

I have not yet been to many natural wonders in the world, well depending on what you would consider natural wonders. I've been to a few waterfalls, but mostly smaller ones. I would very much love to visit the one you mention in the post, especially now that I know it's the one that inspired the film "Up" as that is one of my favorite films. I would consider volcanoes to be a natural wonder and I have had the opportunity to hike on a few volcanoes. So, in this case, I suppose my favorite natural wonder that I have been to so far is Mt. Etna, the active volcano located on the island of Sicily in Italy. I was stationed in Sicily many years ago in the Navy and you could see Mt. Etna from base, so I looked at it every day. It's rather magnificent to see the plumes of smoke rise, especially at sunrise when the sky is pink, or the occasional bursts of lava. It's also fascinating to explore the volcanic rock fields and see some of the buildings that have been buried on the mountain.

I wish to visit Malaysia "Pulau Perhentian, Terengganu" , it is one of the scenic place where you can breathe in cool, fresh sea air, the blue coral reef, wacth the "sampan" float , the fishermen catch the fishes and the turtles conversation, I wanted to watch how the turtles laid hundreds of eggs. That is what I call nature.

wow, amazing view, will really like to visit there too, i love this type of open places, by the ocean sides, getting undiluted air and breeze first hand. unlike the normal air we breath that are already dilute or should i say, have been already recycled by the people who caught it first. took it in and released it to the environment.
I love this place, a very nice place to relax and cool to off.

Wow--that beach and that water are pristine. They don't make them like that here in Georgia or on the Gulf, that's for sure. Although my pale skin would fry like bacon in the sun, I would love to spend a month at this place just enjoying the view, the water, the chance to write, and the chance to relax. I bet this place is amazing at night as well.

I actually watched a TV show not long ago where they were discussing and presenting the natural wonders of the world. I didn't know about 2 of them but hey, I'm not ashamed to admit it! Anyway, my favorite is undoubtedly, the Rio de Janeiro one. I'm talking about the iconic "Christ The Redeemer" statue. I think that everybody has seen it at least once from pictures but I have also seen it in real life. I traveled there in 2014 with my partner. It was the most amazing trip of my life. I still remember how glorious and powerful this statue is. You are left completely speechless in its presence. For me, personally, the most beautiful natural wonder in the world.

For me, it has to be the Amazon Rainforest. It's just crazy to think that there is land in another country that just has these tall trees for miles and miles. It's quite sad that people are cutting down these trees and ruining some of the animals habitats but hopefully, something can be done to stop this before they ruin and destroy the whole rainforest. I would love to visit it one day when I get the chance especially to see some of the animals that live there.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Carmilina
It is not scary? I heard a lot of not so good news about it, the place is so good but still there are creatures that they say that are very dangerous.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

JoeMilford
I have always been interested and fascinated with this place; however, I am more than just a little bit scared of it. The spiders and the centipedes which I have heard live there are enough to make my skin crawl off and enough to keep me from stepping one foot into this primordial world. I agree that it is a crime how much of this ecosystem is being destroyed. I too would like to see some of the animals that live there, but I do not want to see the animals that live there who would also like to eat me in too close of a proximity, if you know what I mean.

So far, in my lifetime, the most incredible natural wonder I have ever seen, years ago, was the Grand Canyon. My girlfriend and I flew into Vegas from Atlanta. We got our hotel, and then we rented a car, and drove down to the canyon where we stayed one night at a bed and breakfast. We took a helicopter flight over the canyon--it was my first time ever in a helicopter. It was such an overwhelming and majestic experience, and it was also a humbling one when you realize how ancient this amazing wonder of nature really is. It was a life-changing experience.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

thisfreespirit
That sounds like a wonderful trip. The Grand Canyon is one of the locations on my bucket list and I really hope to make my way there someday. It's almost silly that I haven't yet, since I've lived within a couple states near to it. I think a helicopter would be a great way to be able to see it, to just hover over top of it like that. I'm rather, okay I'm really, afraid of heights, but I think I would try to brave the fear to be able to see the Grand Canyon in that way. I don't think I could do the donkey ride down, that I know would be too scary for my fears!

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

JoeMilford
The "heights" are not as bad as you think. I am afraid of heights too, to an extent, and I get dizzy at times over this. However, once you are on a plateau and looking out over the landscape, you focus more on the expanse spreading out before you and not so much on the chasm or the canyon there. The grandeur of the canyon isn't just the canyon itself; it is also the terrain around it and the plains and mesas which were also formed around this incredible phenomenon.

One of the most beautiful wonder here in our country is the almost-perfect-cone-shaped volcano which can be found here in the Philippines.

There are still many wonders here but personally, that one really stood out in my opinion. It's not like you can see that on other countries or places. And mind you, it's not just a mountain, it's a volcano.

Philippines have a lot to offer when Natural Wonder is concern especially if you love beaches. There is a lot of beautiful sand bar in the Philippines but my most favorite is Isla De Gallo,Romblon, Philippines. Would you say that the Northern Lights count as a natural wonder? Because if so, I would have to say that the Aurora Borealis is without a doubt my favorite natural wonder. It is so very eerie yet incredibly beautiful at the same time. When you look upon it, it is like witnessing some sort of supernatural event. It fills my imagination with wonder and amazement anytime I see it, be it in person or on screen. It is a visual manifestation of the magnetic forces constantly at work around us, so not only does it stimulate my mind in a creative sense, but also from a scientific perspective as well.

Yes, I would consider these a natural wonder as well. It is nature painting like an abstract expressionist across the sky with ions and electromagnetic flare, so, that's pretty wonderful, if you ask me.

I like our natural falls here in Philippines, still not yet discovered. We always visit such place just
to relax, enjoy and having outing at the same time. The falls was so
big, it could fit a yacht on it. The falls will be found in kidapawan, Philippines. I recommend tourist to visit out there, but follow the basic guidelines before doing trip. The location consider minor danger for foreign visitor because some area would be the nest of rebels.

The municipality invite everyone to visit and have a vacation in the area. I consider that place the most beautiful, if ever I rate it, I would give 10/10 because it was amazing such nature still exist.

I'm not sure if hieroglyphics fit into this category. We're still not sure who created them. Aside from the Niagra falls, I find them amazing. Perhaps we can say they are man made but done on a natural wonderful level! I gather there may be discoveries yet to be revealed and this is a natural mystery that I can't wait to see unfold.

The Wildebeest Migration at the Mara river is my natural wonder, it's the most spectacular place to be during the migration of the animals from the Serengeti in Tanzania to the other side of the river into the Masai Mara in Kenya. The Wildebeest are accompanied with Gazelles, Elands, Antelopes, and Zebras. The animals move in hundred of thousands in search of fodder and good grounds for giving birth to their offsprings.

Known as The Great Wildebeest Migration and recognised as a Seventh Wonder of the World, it happens annually. The crossing becomes spectacular since the river is infested with crocodiles. After crossing they also have to survive the many encounters of the Big Five Cats which are attracted by the large number animals to prey on.

My all time favorite site is the stonehenge in England. It is so incredible and I like to hear bizaree stories behind it. They say that the rock formations are man made but how ? Archaeologist said that the site is constructed on early 3000 BC and it's very impossible that the peoples on that age manage to built it. Also Archaeologist said that it's a place where they bury human remains. I will end this before I tell some conspiracy theories. lol

I like the Amazon Rainforest that much considering the fact that when one imagines that there is another country somewhere that has just trees and miles in it. I don't understand though why people cut down those trees and making it hard for animals that feed on grass and even birds to experience difficulty with living their lives to the fullness.

When I am financially okay, visiting the Amazon Rainforest is top n my agenda! I like nature because of its calm nature with the natural breeze around.

I'm from the Philippines so I am going to promote the natural wonders from my country. I would say my favorite natural wonder is the Mayon Volcano just because of its almost perfect cone. There's nothing like it. It has a violent history and has killed hundreds of people but that just adds to the wonder of this volcano. When it's not "angry" and not spewing lava, it's a sight to behold. You can even swim in its crater. My dream is to someday be able to climb it.

I'm not really the type of adventurous person but I would to see first what my country offers me. It's better to know the treasures of your country first before diving into another country's treasures. After that I would love to go to Maldives or in Hawaii. I would love to see the freshness of these islands. It may be overrated but nature's wonder is still a wonder.

I live in India and can say that India is certainly a land of wonders. India is full of incredible temples , rich mythological background and picturesque landscape. I will mention a few natural wonders in India.

1) Amarnath caves is considered among the holiest shrines in Hinduism. This natural stalagmite formation takes shape due to the freezing of water drops that trickle down the roof of the cave on to the floor beneath. It then rises vertically from the floor and waxes with the moon.

2) Valley of flowers located in western Himalaya of Uttarakhand welcomes people with a wide range of vibrant blossoms, winsome network of streams dotting refreshing meadows. It makes a picturesque sight. The background of snow clad mountains further enhances the beauty and appeal of the place.

Mount Everest

Mt. Everest. The tallest mountain in the world soars almost five and a half miles into the sky and pierces the jet stream with its iconic summit. Embarking on an expedition to Mt. Everest can be the pinnacle of a climbing career and deserves all of the personal support and guidance that RMI offers.

RMI's small, exclusive team is led by tenured RMI Guide and Everest veterans. RMI's guiding approach on Everest differs notably from many other guide services as we intentionally keep our team small. Instead of running a large expedition with many climbers, we focus our attention on leading a more personal climbing team, concentrating our resources on each individual to ensure the safest, most enjoyable, and most successful experience possible for each one of our climbers. RMI's Everest Expedition has one of the best climber-to-guide ratios on the mountain.

I always walk with my eyes pointed to the sky, and I bet you are asking why. This is because, time has gone and time has come, but I have never been able to fully comprehend, or rather accept the fact that birds actually fly. I think this is the only thing that makes me think that life, is maybe, just maybe an illusion. I am always fascinated by how they move forward in the air without jet engines. It just makes me wish that we had wings, but all I am left to do now, is just to watch and smile.

My next destination is the Grand Canyon, and I'm not going to stop here. I want to travel, it doesn't matter on foot, by car or by plane, I want to travel because this activity makes me happy. It makes me feel alive, and I advise everyone to live in the moment.
