Do you like mathematics?

Hi guys! I just want to ask if anyone here likes math a lot. I just want to share my experience about how I hate math long time ago and how I suddenly felt liking it during my 3rd year high school to college days. When I was in high school, I hate math as in I hate it a lot. I don't understand anything about it. I was shocked when my teacher present variables. I don't how to deal with numbers together with letters and symbols. I don't know how to use them. But the time comes when geometry was introduced to us. After that, I liked math a lot. It's like solving puzzles and games. I've even given a chance to compete with different math competitions. So don't lose hope guys! Math gives a lot of fun. Just appreciate its importance in our modern world. Have a nice day and it's nice to hear from you!

I don't like it at all. I was so happy when I finished with school because I didn't have to worry about doing maths ever again except for a few simple calculations here and there. I understand having to learn basic stuff like exchange rates, calculating discounts etc. but the stuff like Pythagoras theorems is just silly really. I don't need to know it because I won't need to use that in the future. I'm sure others may have to use it but I don't so I shouldn't be forced to learn it.

That is exactly how I felt all through out my elementary and high school. In my country math is obligatory until we finish high school so when I began the university I was over the moon. I knew that no classes involved any sort of math. I just don't see much use in it. Sure, the basics of math is important and some things can help you evolve your logical thinking but going too deep into the details is pointless.

I am laughing at this because this is exactly how I felt too! I've been out of school for years now, and I still have nightmares that I failed college algebra! It's hilarious too, because in my nightmare, David Caruso is the math professor, and he is staring me down over his sunglasses as I cower at my desk. Actually, this is terrifying, not hilarious. I do not use complex math now, nor have I since college. I realize this is a shortcoming on my part, not being well-rounded intelligently, but the ship has sailed, and I think it's too late for me to improve. Plus, I would have to want to, and that desire is not there.

Yeah. I also agree in you that mathematics sub branches like calculus, and integral calculus should not be forced to be taken in college. I prefer business math than this calculus because it can be used in everyday life.

I liked mathematics initially, but later in high school I had integral and differential calculus. I had trouble understanding calculus. I had to take the help of my genius friends to understand the principles of calculus. I always got low grades in calculus and still find it difficult to this day.

I agree to your comment why do we need to study complicated math problems to solve if this will be of no use in our future? It is the funny thing about our education. I am an Information technology and i know i will never use those hard topics in math only basic calculations. But this may be a preparation for things in the future. Better to learn complicated things to be prepared.

Same to you because those formulas and other way of solving math problems algebra or even that calculus has no use in real life so why are we need to focus on that if in reality, it has no use

I don't like maths at all, and I think this happens to a lot of people. When I was in high school, I had many issues with it and every year was a nightmare for me as I tried my best and I was always failing this subject which was really frustrating because I knew I was doing my best and nothing worked for me, the math problems were impossible to understand. Fortunately, I survived and I'm happy that I don't have to deal with this ever again.

It's a bit of the opposite for me to be honest. I didn't enjoy mathematics at all but I was actually pretty decent at it. I got a B in Maths at GCSE. It's weird because I didn't really try my best and I didn't do that much revision for it either. Imagine if I had actually done some revision for the Maths exam. Some of the problems just frustrated me so much though. I'm glad that it's all over and I never have to suffer another maths lesson again.

The word nightmare really describes mathematics for me. Everytime the start classes in this subject this really gets me boring and feel sleepy for the reason that i can not understand what our teacher discusses. I do not have the talent to solve mathematical problems all i do is copy the answer from my seatmate that is why i passed the subject. Thanks to my bright buddy.

Have you seen kids today doing math as fast as a calculator? I've seen some videos of indian kids shaking their hands to calculate long equations. They use an imaginary abacus to solve the equations really fast and you won't believe they can solve it in a second. I personally hated math, but when I got to the professional stage of my life and knew about Microsoft excel, I forgot what Math is. Seriously, you don't really have to punish yourself solving all those problems when we already have tools for that. I get the point of basic math and algorithms but would you really be able to use them when you grow up? Yeah, who knows right?

I have seen those on television before, 2 kids, they are brothers and they also shake their hands upon calculating the answer. I was really amazed how they can easily calculate those set of number within seconds. They are like human calculators. I am thinking now, is it the shaking of the hands that gives them extra knowledge in math? Just kidding. Do you like mathematics?

I've seen that video Do you like mathematics? That was really amazing since not all people can do that. I also think that finger calculation is achievable if you put a great amount of focus to learn it. I think children can learn this faster than adults can. If you want to learn finger calculation, you can visit this link.

I can remember enjoying Math when I was in high school. However, when I entered college, I hated it so much. In my opinion, simple Math is enjoyable, but when it becomes too complicated, I will quit immediately Do you like mathematics?

This honestly just blows my mind! An imaginary abacus What? Anyway, I never have had to use complex math in any of the jobs I have had in my post-college life or in my college life, or, come to think of it, I never used complex math outside of the classroom in my entire life. There are people who incredible with the language of math, and I wish I were one of them, but I am just not.

I have never been good at math or math related activities. In my sophomore year of high school I had to take algebra to be able to graduate years later. Spanish I had no problem with. I was in honors English and had no problem with any other subjects except my struggles with algebra. My algebra teacher saw me struggling with the mechanics of it all and sat me down and told me she would make sure I got thru it and passed. Her name was Mrs. Green and everyday I thank God for sending her to help me. I know it sounds crazy, but she really helped me see the math and not be overwhelmed by it.

No, I don't really like mathematics. I have never been particularly good at it. I've had some issues with it in the elementary school because we had a teacher that didn't know what she was doing and never explained anything. So, unless you were naturally good at it you simply had bad grades there. That's why I started disliking mathematics. Once I entered the high school I continued to have problems until we got a brand new teacher. She was so good because she explained EVERYTHING. If you ever had any questions, she answered them without any hesitations. She taught me that math isn't as hard as we all think. Regardless, I am still not a big fan of it Do you like mathematics?

Not only that I love Mathematics, I teach Mathematics as a subject in schools. I had been in the teaching of Mathematics and Further Mathematics for the past sixteen years now. I happened to be a Mathematics trainer across classes in both the middle schools and high schools and have trained and produced so many Mathematics champions among gifted children nationally.

I also teach Mathematics and Science students who want to sit for entrance examinations into the universities. I have so much passion for bringing the best out of children in the area of Mathematics and that has been my vision for more than two decades now.

I think you're actually the first person in this thread to say that they like (actually love) mathematics lol. It's great to hear that you are a mathematics teacher because it is so important to have someone that is actually passionate about the subject teach it especially to kids who may not appreciate or like the subject at all. Have you ever had any problems with kids not giving enough effort in lesson due to their lack of interest?

I can't forget in a hurry how my mathematics teacher then in secondary school used to flog me simply because I have less interest in the subject as of then and he even went to the level of asking my parents to encourage me to start studying the subject for he sees a big future in me on the subject. I never had to agree with him on that and I struggled with it till I entered the university.

It was just a coincidence that the course that I was admitted to study was economics and it had series of calculations in it both in mathematics and on statistics. I had to force myself to fall in love with the courses and with time, I got to start enjoying mathematics.

I didn't care for math myself when I was younger but I am glad I learned it in school otherwise I wouldn't be where I am today. As much as we find it obnoxious and boring as kids, it comes in handy when you're an adult. Paying bills, making purchases, calculating your hours worked vs. pay received, figuring out the tab at a bar or restaurant, etc. Granted, most people in life won't need the heavily advanced stuff unless they're studying to be a NASA engineer or an accountant. But the high level basics and a few other things thrown in are definitely needed. Particularly, multiplication, division, fractions, addition and subtraction.

I don't know now because thanks god the carreer I studied in the university wasn't related to mathematic but I dedinitely wasn't good at it before so I don't think I'll be good now... Honestly I didn't find the point on nothing besides the basics operations, unless you are going to be an engineer you are not going to use that for the rest of your life!

No and when I say no, I meant capital NO, I seriously don't like mathematics. In fact, I despise it with passion. I can still remember during my college days the amount of struggles that I had to pass through just to simply pass my mathematics test and exam.

It wasn't a funny experience but I am glad that I managed to scale through and believe me when I say it, that nothing is ever going to make go near mathematics test or questions as just a site on a mathematics questions immediately gives me headache.

I do manage to to handle some statistics because it's a lot more easier when compared to pure mathematics. It's not that stressful in solving, just a clear logic would be very helpful in solving any statistical test.

Definitely not and possibly Never! Mathematics and numbers in general were never fascinating to me. I hate Geometry and Trigonometry when I was in High School, while having a Calculus subject on College seemed like a huge Cross on my shoulder. To be honest, memorizing a cellphone number of my friends, family and even my own Social Security Number are very hideous to me. If I could only hide from Numbers, I will definitely run away ha ha ha!!!!

I love mathematics because I can use math in my everyday life. I believe that all things around us are consist of numbers and measurements. Finally! The first to agree with OP. I love math but don't get me wrong I don't believe what you say about all things around us consist of numbers and measurements, other than that I totally agree with you. It is as you say it is, a good enchancer of your logical thinking. Back at school, most of the time math is everywhere. Being an electronics engineer I'd learn to really go deeper and love math even more. Also I found out that there is no pain in analyzing them and the more deep to get the more exciting it gets!

I used to hate Math. I feel one of the biggest problems in Math class these days is all about learning how to do the calculation. In a world with computers we should be learning the concepts of what math does and how to use it instead of focusing on how it actually works. Not to say that learning how it works is not important because it definitely is, and learning how to do some of the hard calculation is important but I don't think it should be the central focus. When I deal with math I don't have to think about doing the calculation because that is what the computer is for. instead I deal with writing the equations in a form that will get me the result that I need. Back in college I once wrote a program that used an iterative loop that would draw a hemispherical spiral point by point. Because I had an intuition of trigonometry and algebra I was able to derive the correct equation off the top of my head to get the coordinates of each point. Technically I did not need to know how to multiply numbers(or any other arithmetic) by hand to be able to write those equations, I just needed to understand what the arithmetic was doing for me. Today most math classes focus solely on hard calculation and it's the least fun and interesting aspect of mathematics. I failed many math classes because of this, but today I spend a great deal of time doing things that have to do with math because it is an incredibly useful and amazingly enjoyable discipline.

Right now I don't hate math but I never really loved it. When I was in grade school, I was terrible in math. I got a failing grade when I was in second grade, which prompted the school to call for my parents. Afterwards my sisters helped me every day to study it. Growing up, it is a struggle to get by with it but I managed to lift my grades up to an acceptable standard grade. Now high but not failing, just somewhere in between. So when I became high school, I decided to step up a little and make small goals in terms of my grades. I did better and passed my college entrance exam. In fact I was good enough to study engineering. I thought it would be easy because I knew the basics of math, so I enrolled in the field of civil engineering. Then I realized maths in engineering is another whole world to maths all over. I was struggling to pass each subject that has numbers. literally struggling semester after semester. But what I do possess is perseverance, I was able to pass my engineering until the end of it and passed the state board given by the government to recognize me professionally. One thing I am certain, I don't love math, but I don't hate it either. No one is incapable of learning math, they just don't want to learn it and work for it hard.

I'm a math hater as well, until now! I don't even know how I passed all the math subjects that I had from being an elementary student until I graduated college. My eyes would sore when I see formulas and those x's and y's really sucked big time for me! I remember doing something fishy with my report card when I was in elementary because I was afraid to show it to my parents since I got a 74 for math. Good thing my teacher understood the situation so she just changed my report card. I really hate math until now. I honestly admit that I am a math hater! I'm the queen of math haters! LOL. I guess math doesn't just like me as well.

I am in neutral. I don't love Math neither hate it. I don't find it difficult nor easy. Some says I am good in Math, but for me, it is just average. When I was in first year high school my teacher in Math chose me to be the representative of our class in elimination round for the contest, It was a good experience, though I did not qualify for the next round. After that, my classmates always tease about it. Maybe it is something I will always remember whenever I hear Mathematics. If there is one thing I love about Math, is that you don't have to do much projects and research, haha.

I love mathematics but mathematics subject itself doesn't like me. I tried so hard to learn mathematics well because i love engineering course and thats my ambition in life. I focused on it by reading books regularly, watching in youtube and reading online but it doesn't work. My mother told me to keep learning that subject but my mind is not capable of learning more things like cosin and other complicated problem solving. It triggered me and made me quit so i changed my mind to take computer courses and stopped my self forcing to things i cannot understand.

It is so ironic my friend. You love math but it does not love you, while some people hated math eventually became engineer. I knew some people who rants about how difficult math is, how it makes their mind stress on solving problems and some even say that if only they can remove the subject, they would. It's kind of funny because now, some of them are succesful engineers.

I ran away from the maths during the high-school. But later I had to take things in hand. And I had to make the hard choices. And that's how I have managed to do the stuff. Maths is good if you want to get into science, accounting and other streams. I have found that as you start to like maths. More and more different options for you open up. That's how the things are going to be there as well. You may notice that maths is often the starting point for many when it comes to handling the future degree prep exams and the course. So it's not optional and should not be optional anymore.

I think more emphasis should be put on practical applications. Most of the teachers in my high school would just throw a bunch of numbers and equations at us to solve with little explanation on how this work, could be useful in the real world. Mathematics is one of the subject I enjoyed when I was in my high school days it is very fun learning it because I am a person that loves solving things that I don't know the answer. Being able to solve the problem makes you cool since some students can't solve the problem so your going to teach them on how to solve and in that process I made a lot of friends. I also love things related to mathematics like rubrik's cube, sudoku, board games and others. I was once been chosen by my teacher to compete with mathematics though I was not able to win but, I was able to learn things that i didn't yet learned so it was a great experience. Mathematics has steps and formulas if you know those two you will able to solve any problem. Enjoy solving mathematics.

Nope, I don't like mathematics, it was very hard when I was in school o learn and master all the formulas and you had to be punished every time you never got it right. They say that there's a mathematical equation that explains just about every aspect of our lives. I'm not sure how true that is but math has proven itself time and time again in one form or the other as being beneficial. Whether it's just simply calculating figures or determining the probability of something based on existing trends, this allows us to flex the mind muscles and in return opens up new ventures and avenues by which we can expand our way of thinking. To every aspect of life with which we can learn we have an opportunity to develop our minds which will in turn allow us to enhance our way of life. This is so much interwoven into our lives that we take it for granted. How many glasses of water do we need to drink per day to feel hydrated, how long can we hold our breath underwater, how much does our heart rate speed up when we walk as opposed to when we run and which distance and pace we need to apply to achieve this. What category of storm bearing which wind speed should be aware of the most to determine our safety or danger zones and which shape and size and which land mass the storm will cover based on it's sized and projected path. All of this entails some form of mathematics which guaranteed is of invaluable use to our lives.

I am definitely an English nerd, but that is not to say that I do not like math. However, I must admit that I am terrible at it, and I think that even have what they call a "math phobia". I am not sure if math tests give me panic attacks, but I remember being very uncomfortable with that material, and I was so happy when I passed College Algebra and was "done" with math forever. I think mathematics is a beautiful language of its own, and I wish I understood it better, but it has never been my strong suit.

I love Mathematics or Math in short since elementary to college. The reason of loving it is that you don't have to memorize sentence by sentence like Science and History. It is just more on practice and if you know the formula, for sure you will get a perfect score. That's why for me Math is the easiest subject. I'm not really good at it but at least I don't get low grades in Math.

My uncle was a Mathematician and I remember when I was in elementary he told me that if you want to be good in Math, study well in English too even though it is our second language because the module of teaching in school is English. The instructions in Math subject is English. He also said to me that if you are good in English then Math will be very easy because you can be able to analyze the problems which is written and instructed in English. My uncle also said that he has a student who is good in solving math problems but sometimes that student got wrong answers during exam because of his poor English. He misunderstood the instruction so he got wrong answer.

Well as for me, as long as you memorize the multiplication table and you know how to analyze the problem plus you know the formula, I can assure you that you will pass this subject.

I have struggles in mathematics and i can't do the complicated ones. I find mathematics helpful but the learning curve is really hard for me since i was young and until now i'm having problems with complicated math formula's. I do want to learn and relearn the basics until i get a hang of it, Since its a part of our daily lives. Although mathematics is not that required when it comes to programming it is still handy in dealing with manual inputs of formula's.

I don't know why but I love mathematics so much even when I'm still on my preschool days hahaha. I just love solving and coming-up with the right answers in the end, it is so fulfilling. Actually during my high school days I favor more Science rather than Math but as soon as I went to college my passion for numbers arises and still now I live Math and I'm proud of it. I just realized maybe the reason I fell in love Science before is that because it has a lot of Math too particularly chemistry and physics. Oh I love chemistry and physics so much. Love the memories in High School. How nerdy I am hahahah. God bless everyone and thank you for this wonderful question.

Scratch that, I think we would still be in Stone Age if some of our genius ancestors haven't discovered this. I used to frequently curse at these mathematicians who made so many equations for this and that when I had to memorize them to solve this and that back in high school. I hated it. Period. Exclamation point. Now though that I don't have to anymore, I get to see and appreciate how amazing their discoveries came to be, and despite me not being a science geek, I am a history geek, therefore, I love reading biographies and watching documentaries of early scientists and mathematicians. Without them and all their brain wrecking equations, this kind of world we are living now would only be a fantasy. I may hate the subject to the core (I actually had pretty good grades, but I just don't really care for it), but I still see its significance.

Hi, Cromatemaybe you will laugh but I hate mathematics, I always did and maybe I should be ashamed but when I was in school all my grades at mathematics could not pass 6. I wasn't a stupid kid and I did have good grades at chemistry or literature, etc. but not mathematics.
I guess not all people can assimilate mathematics, and to like it as well.

I used to love math when I was learning Algebra in middle school. That was the last time I remember loving math. I was good at Algebra. Unfortunately, once Calculus kicked in, I was back to loathing it. It was fun when I understood the concepts and was able to solve a complex problem, but when I didn't understand the concepts, it was frustrating to no end. It's been years since I completed my education and I have yet to use Calculus in everyday life. What a waste of stress and mind power.

At first I really don't like it because my mind is already closed since I have heard a lot of scary things of it being difficult. It has already been registered. However when I reached my college days, I have realized the value and importance of studying it. I opened my heart to it and begin to provide time studying starting from scratch. I was able to appreciate the application of the subject in everyday life and lately realized that all what was said is difficult is becoming easy. Every time I learned something new, I considered it as a part of my adventurous world. Calculus rocks!

Yes I like mathematics, but math doesn't like me. Haha! Joking aside, I like math because its very logical and it has a definite answer. It is so satifying to solve a math problem. I like business math because you can use it in everyday life.

Yes, as a matter of fact I took up bachelor of science in civil engineering. Always love mathematics. I love to solve problems involving numbers. It kinda give me a different sense of feeling.

I remembered when I was in Elementary Grade, I don't know how to divide, but then I told to my self that I need to learn Mathematics. That's Is why I am more Interested to Mathematics subject, in fact I took up elementary teacher specialization in mathematics right now.

Wow that is nice to know. You make the subject you are not good at first and then make it to your advantage and learn it well. Now your trying to pursue a teaching career which specializes in math. That is amazing. Good luck in your journey.

Congratulation on having to teach math as your speciality. Now let's make every children believe that there is no harm in loving math, they just need to relax and give it time in order really understand it. I'm sure they'll have fun learning it. Because most students that I know when I was in college that didn't have math in their course answers "because there is no math" when asked why they chose that course.

p.s This is just my opinion so please don't take this as critism on how you teach children.

It's not that I really hate math. I am just simply mathematically challenged and I don't enjoy being overwhelmed by numbers and formulas. I'd really love to be good at it, unfortunately I don't have the knack for computations and stuff. Heck, I'm still confused even while having the formulas provided and with a calculator in hand. It's no different than looking at chinese or russian alphabets, it does not make any sense to me. If not for my good cheating buddies in class, my good acting skills, and my "i'm just doing thils for the pay" instructors, then I have have failed pretty much all of them. Now that I have long graduated, math to me is like the ex that you never want to see again but you keep bumping into.

Yes, i like it because we can use it in our daily lives, without Math, you will lose!

But Mathematics as my subjects during my highs school and college days, i won't like it at all! it's very disturbing for me, why need to compute algebra, calculus, geometry and trigonometry? I'm not studying engineering or planning to be a scientist, my course is too far from this.

We only use basic mathematics everyday, addition, subtraction and division, if i will buy stuff do i need to compute like in an algebra class? For me, my Math subjects during college days was there to extend the education process, honestly we can be engineers by focusing only on the basic math for the course, why still need to have 5 years of study? In our 5 years of study we only focus on Math? no its a mixture of subjects.

This is only my opinion, and others who loved mathematics, you have my high respect.

Thank you!

Yes! I do love math! because every math problem is like a puzzle. Whenever I solve math problems I feel like I am solving a puzzle. Plus for me, math is easier than other subjects like chemistry, history etc. because in math, you only need to understand the process, and once you do, you can already apply it in many kinds of problems. Also, the approach in solving math problems is applicable in solving any problems. Understand the problem, know what is given, and asked for, then think of the approach to use in solving. It is not true that you cannot apply math in your life, you use it almost everyday in different levels, you may just not notice it.

I don't hate math but i don't love it either. I just understand it. But there are times during my schooldays that i lost interest in math when i don't like our teacher. I find it hard to understand whatever explain she did. So all i can say is, understanding math sometimes depends on the instructor. When your already not that interested in math and you encounter a not that good instructor then you will really have a hard time.

Schools have managed to make a whole generation hate mathematics as well as the other disciplines like literature. I can't say that I understand mathematics, but I'm confident that it's possible to master any mathematical subject easily, any time, the secret is in the approach, maths works by building facts, one upon another, it doesn't allow any gaps in its knowledge base.

I don't know about that. Here in America we still have our generations of accountants, financial advisers, business managers, etc. Fields of work where you have to be pretty good at math as all of those careers involve managing peoples money. I think the 'math gap' certainly exists. Which is where you have people who don't get math easily and hate it... and people who easily get it and take on jobs and careers where they utilize it. There's not much in-between anymore.

Honestly like math specially that complicated one, because i realize that the complicated mathematics arithmetic is not applicable in a real life job majority of the math knowledge that you have the subtraction , addition , division and multiply is the only math cores that always used in daily bases even in the office.

I don't really hate or love math, but since it has always been a requirement annually, I always put my best into it. I dont' really have a problem with it, since I understand it all the way from simple arithmetic up to differential equations. It's not really hard for me since I learn how to speak with numbers, lol. The real key to mathematics is like in martial arts, training. Find problems to apply your knowledge and try to train your brain solving it. In that way, you will encounter many possibilities in math and will learn many techniques. Even though there are many complainants of mathematics, there are also many fanatics of it. Just be smart and accept math with your heart, and math will also accept you, lol.

I agree with you. Math is not just what it might seem. Love it or hate it, Math has been of great help to us humans for centuries. I am a great fan of mathematics and those great mathematicians. Not just because of my profession now but this has been innate of me. I found fascination with numbers when I was kid. Turning high school, it amazed me more knowing how it could be applied to a lot of things surrounding me. I might try to understand those who hate math because they just naturally hate numbers and variables and their incapability of comprehending it from their upbringing. However, those who emphasize that math is overemphasized and not that useful to everyday life, just keep that to your confined mind. Everything around you, yes including air, is a masterpiece of mathematics. Furthermore,

1. Without mathematics, manufacturers can't design structure, functions and materials of your beloved IPhone.
2. Without mathematics, there would be no codes and algorithms used by scientists to develop programs such as your beloved Facebook. Not to mention the fact that computers are run with binary numbers.
3. Without mathematics, it would be hard to formulate the right amount of ingredients of the medicine that you might desperately grasp in your dying days.
4. Without mathematics, you will not be able to see the perfect structure and design of your house or your house at all.
5. Without mathematics, there would be no perfect equation to balance the thousands of forces applied on the airplane you got into during your lovely vacation in Europe.

There are million other stuffs from which mathematics is being owed. It's actually more valuable than you or than any single person there is.

I want to be an engineer, specifically, civil engineer so I have to love math because that career is only based on math. I've always liked math since I have memory, when I was a child I wanted to study pure math because I was good with numbers and I wanted to be a math expert but I realized that math started to become harder, the numbers started to disappear and the math problems had to be solved with letters only so, I preferred to study engineering.

These days I actually like it far more than I used to. When I was a child and a teenager, I absolutely hated mathematics. This was due to my perspective. I didn't like it because I just looked at it as awful school work, and because of this I barely paid attention in class. Because I didn't pay attention, I was bad at it, and because I was bad at it I looked at it as awful school work. And so the cycle continued.

It was only in college that I realized I actually liked math. Perhaps it was because I had taken a break between college and high school, but getting back into math felt a lot more fun. I stopped looking at it as school work and it felt more like a puzzle solving game than anything else. I still don't love it, but I've learned to like math a lot more since then.

As for my study now, I proclaimed that I am graduated to math subjects due to the fact that I already finished all of my math courses. Starting from arithmetic, algebra, trigonometry, geometry, differential and integral calculus up to differential equations, I have conquered them all. Honestly, it's very tough to even pass one of them for others, and here I am, laughing at them, hahaha. You only find math as difficult because you are lazy and lacks appreciation of the subject. Just learn to insert some effort into it and math won't be in your way.

Mathematics is very important subject, it is a practical subject, you will require the knowledge of math for your entire life.

A lot of students really find Mathematics as a hard subject and I am one of them. I do agree that problem solving and formula memorization are really hard and I did get headaches and have sleepless nights because of these. But instead of hating it, it has become one of my favorite subjects. I love it when I am challenged to get the correct answers. I think it helped me a lot when I did not pressure my self to understand it and also devoted my time to really study my lessons. Plus, I enjoy classroom discussions with my previous teachers who were really good in teaching Math.

Absolutely. That's when on my third and fourth year high school as I've got my highest grades on mathematics. Guess it was thanks to my professor on that year, which is a Civil Engineer and practicing his career for more than 20 years I think. He retired and then teach on his wife school which is our head principal during that term. But as of today though, I'm kinda losing interest on solving complex mathematical problems and I rather take the easiest way around to solve and calculate most problems I encounter in every day life.

Well, I hated mathematics back in my secondary school days, because of the people I had around me, I mean the dumb heads I flock around with, they keep on saying how they hate maths and so on, and I was a victim of the evil energy. Till I started moving with people who love maths and that was I started loving maths.
So be friends with people who love maths and you will get to understand it's simplicity.

To be honest, math I would say is my most favorite subject of all time ever since I was a kid. Maybe because the achievement I get whenever I get the answers right is so extraordinary or overwhelming thinking that wow I have answered this math problem myself, it's like an big achievement for me. Even though I never becomes best in math in my class but I am included in top 5 but mathematics really brings my dead soul back to life whenever I am in school. Now, that I'm now in college my primarily math is accounting and actually I feel in love with and I'm trying to think about being an accountant someday or I will just continue building my own business. I have also a tutorial service for math especially college algebra, business mathematics and accounting the reason why my life is no far from mathematics. Math is basically my life hahahaha. Well thanks and God bless everyone.

Absolutely not and I think whoever invented the calculator should win a noble prize. I remember the hardships I went thru with College Algebra, Calculus and Trigonometry. The nights I spent practicing and applying formulas were insane. Now that I am part of the working sector the X and Y's did not prove to be vital as I did not get to use them in real life. I mean you don't tell the cashier that your money is 2x+y2/y3+x3 when ordering a meal at McDonald's.

In my early school days i was great in all subjects. I used to score over 92% in all subjects. I then had an illness that interfered with my learning. I had a very bad school attendance and my maths grades dropped so much. I ended up hating maths because while i could school over 90% in other subjects i never passed 40% in mathematics in all my school years. However, now that am a grown up, i want to learn mathematics just for fun because i believe its a very great subject and mind blowing.

I just learned mathematics when I was on my third year school. And the person helped me to understand and like mathematics wasn't my math teacher. It was my classmate who is really good in mathematics who taught me. He helped me understand algebra. And from then on, I could easily relate and understand topics that are related in mathematics. My mathematics teachers are good in mathematics but the way they taught was really difficult for me to understand. So based on my experience, you could learn and enjoy mathematics of someone will teach you on your level of understanding and in a way that you could relate that into real life situation. Take for example algebra, it is really useful in any areas of life but if you don't know the application that in real life, it is so hard and daunting to study.

I used to hate maths and fail at it horribly when I was in my lower grades. When I got to my upper grades, my parents decided that I should go for tuition, so that maths doesn't negatively affect my final grade. My tuition teacher performed magic. My mentality totally shifted. I started to love and understand maths. I scored an A in it, to the shock of my teachers and parents.

The trick to maths, in my opinion, is the teacher. The more simple and exciting the teacher makes it, the more you enjoy it, understand it and excel in it

I love Mathematics. It's actually my favorite subject. Math has been a best friend to me since I got a perfect score on my exam when I was in Grade 1. I know that a lot of people hate this subject because they don't like numbers, logic, and formula but I appreciate those things a lot. I love numbers. I also love critical thinking. Another thing I love about Math is that I experience true learning because you don't need to memorize anything in Math, not even formula. You learn by applying and its repetition turns into mastery and retention. That practice makes learning easier rather than mere memorization. I may not remember everything I have studied about my Math subjects but I can remember it easier than my other subjects once I have my recap on it.

If you think that Mathematics is hard and complicated, then think again. Mathematics only requires analysis. People tend to judge a Math problem right away. Usually numbers are incorporated with Math but when they see letters, and other unfamiliar signs, some find it already confusing. They stop and give up, leaving that "Mathematics is hard," impression. Mathematics only deals with logical steps in solving the problem. You need to look beyond those letters come up with a formula and that's it. Formula saves the day.
Actually what only makes Mathematics hard for me is memorizing the formula, the rest, will all be easy. But there are actually other ways to avoid memorizing. You just need to strengthen your foundation with Algebra, Trigonometry and Geometry for you to easily come up with answers in every Calculus and other higher mathematics problems.

Yes! Math is my favorite. Ever since I was young as 1 year old, I'm really into solving. My mother was a great teacher. She made me so good at Math. That is also a reason why I love Math. Because I'm good at it. The only problem is when I grew up and every year, I have different teachers teaching me. Most of them are horrible in teaching and I hate it. It's like they're just teaching in the school for them to be able to brag about how they're so very good at Math. I hate that I don't even just a tiny bit about what the teacher is teaching. I became horrible at it and that is how I found my new teacher, which is now my best friend.

I don't like math at all, I was never good at it. I was abke to understand some stuff during elementary school but after that all is a blur. I managed to get through highschool with a little extra help from a tutor, but I was glad I finally could get away from maths and I chose a college where there was no math on my schedule. I think it's native, understanding math, considering most kids hate it and they don't manage well, I saw rare cases where colleagues really liked math and I can say that I respect them, because they kinda have a gift, being able to understand and like math.

I also don't know much about mathematics, so I can say that I don't understand it at all and I don't like it. But this is not a problem at all, I even have my own small business because of which I deal with a bunch of numbers. I just use a percentage calculator at percentagecalculator.co.uk which helps me calculate a percentage of the amount. Two percentage calculators allow you to calculate the percentage of the amount, as well as find out the percentage of the total amount. I've been using it for a long time and it saves a lot of time, and besides, I wouldn't be able to calculate it myself. There is also a section under each calculator that explains how to work with amounts. So I think this is a great way out of a situation where you don't understand math
