Do you have skills/talent that have been neglected?

I used to draw during my elementary days. My classmates would come to me to ask to draw for them in exchange of money. I enjoyed seeing my drawings and earning from it. But when I reached high school I stopped making drawings and totally neglected it until I finished college. Lately, I just realized that if I just continue developing my drawing skills, it could be a source of income. I could work as a graphics artist. Or I could create a training video that teaches how to learn to draw.

How about you? Do you have any talent/skills that could be a source of income if you haven't neglected it?

Probably none as I don't have that very special skills or maybe talent that I haven't use at all in recent years. But what I can think of as of now would be my cooking skills as I haven't had a chance to cook anymore after my girlfriend and I had been on a not so long distance relationship. She really loves every recipe I cooked ever since we're still together on our workplace so I haven't cook anything for my self although I've been cooking some recipe for her when we meet for a date.

That's pretty cool! I'm a girl and I can only cook decently at best, and a guy being able to skilfully do it amazes me. Real patience, I believe, is needed to have the kind of taste that would really be awesome to the palate, and I obviously don't have that.

That too bad man but it seems that its not actually neglected, its just that you didnt have an opportunity to show how good you are in terms of cooking

It would be drawing too. I was really good at it especially with my lines but some how I just dropped it. There's also poetry. I'm what you'd call a lazy poet. I have these pieces of writing and ideas here and there but I never seem to put them together.

perhaps at my spare time I would start developing my skills once more and perhaps in the long run I will earn a living out of it.

I have always believed that I can learn any skill there is in the world, except drawing. I tried learning it back when I was still in school because this kind of talent is really needed to achieve high grades especially when making projects. Nothing came out of it, but what I lacked in this skill, I believe I made up in my designing skills. This is what I depended on to have good grades for projects from my elementary to university years.

I have photography skills. People who have seen my photography have always appreciated my photographs. I learned photography through self-learning and practice. However, my photography skills are neglected. I wish I could earn money from my photography, however, until now, photography is just a hobby for me.
I also have graphic designing skills, which I have never used to make money.

I also want to learn photography. Having a camera is actually one thing that I'm currently saving my money. I'm seeing people earn by doing photo blogs and others sell it to websites like istockphoto.com. I once bought image there for my website amounting to $10.

I agree here as well. This is another one of my skills/talents that I've failed to hone and make some money off of. I started photography as a hobby, and later on I went to take Digital Photography courses while I was in college. My friends and family always enjoy my photography when I post it on social media, and a lot of them recommend that I send photos in to contests and other competitions and perhaps win some money or just get my stuff noticed, but I never really cared about taking things to the next level. I just like breaking out the camera taking pictures for fun.

I entered a Photography class too back when I was in college and my prominent photographer teacher told me that I actually have potential if I choose to pursue the path. I see photography as a hobby only though, and not as something I would do professionally. I love taking pictures and I just post those in Instagram and Facebook.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Yeah Photography is a really enjoyable and relaxing hobby for me, so in some ways I wouldn't want to ruin that. This doesn't ring true for everyone, but personally as soon as it turns into a "job" the whole experience isn't the same anymore. I want to go out and take photos at my own leisure and just enjoy myself. Once you start putting deadlines on things and having to deal with clients and all that, it's a guaranteed way to ruin something I love.

You are blessed with that talent. I know that being photographer isn't that easy as other people think. We can learn everything if we pursue or focus on that thing. It is a big opportunity for us to enter the world of Photography. If i only have that potential, i will attend some classes to enhance the talent.

I have ignored the sketching for years. I am very busy with the work I do online and offline. i completely forgot how the sketches I used to make in the past. So getting back at that. I am also experimenting with manga these days. Hoping to get back my way of sketching. And hopefully that can work out as well. I am not sure if such talent can be properly viewed as well. I guess we are going to find it out in soon enough time.

Maybe we become a little rusty when we get no chance to practice our skills. But it is a good thing that you are trying to get back on sketching. Manga is one of a good choice to draw and make money because it one of the most popular where you can make comics and sell. Goodluck to you and I hope you get enough time soon to get back sketching again.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Yes. I have to get to find resources to promote it though. Because I am not in Japan. So promoting and getting manga to be liked by others would be harder. And that's where I have to scale my sketching skilsl with other options. I may sketch again right now so as to just start this process. Hopefully slowly things change.

You could also create online lessons how to do it. These days, any hobbies, talents, or skills can be sold in the internet by teaching other people. In my facebook account, I'm seeing ads about people offering an online course about creating a film, writing, drama lessons, playing guitars, and many more.

Agree. This can be real money maker. And also some people can benefit from your perspective as well. I am yet to get on the level of teaching though. So have to first reach there. I am starting with instagram right now. And then that following will be used for the foundation of the future plans. Hopefully this works.

Can instagram help me to earn money? Is it alike Pinterest?

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Think of instagram as facebook of images. Here images and video content is trending. And there are many models, sports people and celebs out there. And they earn money by endorsing the brands. So you can do the same. And this will lead to the erning good money. Think of it like pinterest but meant for your own images.

Yes, tutorial is also a good idea to earn from your skill. Especially now that there are a lot of online courses on the internet and some people loves to study and learn even they are at home. Aside from tutorial, you can also make students projects and have some extra bucks from it. I used to this before when I am still good at drawing, sadly now I feel different everytime I try to draw again.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

overcast
I think tutorial phase may take time. I have to sharpen my skills in due process. As of now I have noticed that Instagram has enough people. And they kind of like my content. So I have to work on that part. It seems like easy at first but there is a lot of competition in the market even among the designers.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

vhinz
It's really scary to start an online journey when you'rethinking about the competition. Almost all fields have people doing it already. We just need to be courageous to try what we can do. And consider competition as a challenge for us to strive to become knowledgeable in our field. And put in mind that we might have common ideas, but we have unique way of delivering it to other people. They might choose your tutorials if you could teach them in away that they could easily learn.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

overcast
Yes it is scary. But you have to jump into this thinking you have no other alternative. And you have to find out what is going to be the option if not this. Then things will start to make sense. And then things will start to change for you. That seems to be the way things are going on for many people who have made career out of online activities.

Is it possible to earn money by teaching people how to draw cartoons? If I use my own blog to teach the step by step, use the Amazon or any third party ads, do you think that my adsense earning would increase too?

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

vhinz
Yes it is possible. There are really online courses on how to draw cartoons. If you could create good training videos then you could possibly earn from it and could generate more traffic to your blog which will increase also your adsense earnings.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

peachpurple
Oh you should get back to sketching before you lost the skill. I have not started sketching yet because I am only familiar with drawing cartoons by looking at the image. Maybe I would start to sketch manga too. Which manga are you sketching?

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

overcast
I am more of sketching the horror content. So the manga would be more like those psychological horror. I don't like zombies and ghosts. So you can expect atmospheric horror. And hoping things would be a bit different. I am going to write and see how my stories work out in visual form. So far doing the work.

It seems we have the same upbringing for I was once good at drawing things while I was little. The thing then was that the pressure of coming up with academic made me neglect that skill of mine and sometimes during these days, I always wonder how far I would have gone if I continued with that.

There are many things that could really get our focus and totally forget what we used to be doing that could give us great benefits in the future. Like in my case, I'm an Information Technology instructor. I used to teach web programming, database, graphics designing, and other computer related subjects. It is my great desire to really become a good web programmer. But since I started reading blogs, following successful bloggers/writers, and also trying to create some contents, reading and commenting in this forum, my focus now is not primarily on web programming. But good thing I really aspire to become a blogger/writer. I just need to balance my activities so I could still enhance my skills in programming while developing also my skills in blogging.

At young age we could be easily influenced by our parents, friends, or other people about what they thought what we can do and we cannot do, what's good for us and what is not. Fortunate are those people who gets full supports from their family on the path they want to go.

"If we want something in our life that we think would be good for us, we should not let other people decide for us" - That's the advice I've read from a book.

I have two skills/talents that I've neglected in the past few years, and they are my skills in both illustration and music. I've been playing musical instruments in one form or another every since I was a child, and that is because my father is a musician. I eventually focused on playing guitar while I was a teen, and actually became really good, as I would practice upwards of six hours a day. Thing is I never tried making money using this talent, and as other work began to take over my life, my guitar started gathering dust. Same goes for illustration. I've been drawing for years, and my skills had peaked while I was taking illustration courses in college. However, I never tried doing commissions or selling any pieces, and the same thing happened as with my guitar. My drawing tablet just gathers dust now.

I, too, have been playing music for years. I was even in a few bands back in college which had some moderate local success, but I quit the last one to go off to graduate school. Sometimes, I wonder if I actually made the right decision or not in doing so. I have played guitar for 30 years now. My guitar, like your drawing materials, seems to be gathering dust now as well! It's is hard to know or to tell when to follow our passions as a vocation or as what people loosely refer to as "a hobby". I hope that, at the end of a long life and a career outside of the arts, that I do not totally regret the decisions I made in focusing elsewhere other than music and/or drawing.

I used to be a chess player in middle school. I wasn't exceptionally good but I was a decent player. So much that only the teacher could play with me in my classroom. It is my drawing skills too. It all started when I was a kid, when one of my teacher required us to draw map of the Philippines. I was surprised that time that I actually can draw exactly how it looks like. I also used to draw portraits, and my friends and family liked it a lot. But since I stopped doing it and practicing my skills, I feel my talent disappeared. Now, when I draw, my hand is shaky and I cannot focus anymore, I feel sad because of that. If only i did not stop praticing my skills, maybe I still have it now.

In my own experience yes, especially when I was in my college days. I used to sing I mean I know in myself that I can sing that I have a beautiful voice thats why I try to audition in one of the campus singing contest but then again I didnt make it so they neglected me and that was the most embarracing moment in my life

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

vhinz
Giving up for the first time we failed would make is forget our dreams and look just accept our fate.

I have read a story about a girl who wants to become a ballerina. When she heard that there would be audition in town, she enlisted and tries her luck. During the audition she tried her best to get in. But after her performance, the guy in-charge of the audition told her that she is no good. She went home crying and plead to forget her dream of becoming a ballerina.

Years have passed, she didn't totally pursued her dreams. She found a work as a sales clerk in a store. One day, she was able to meet again in the store the person who told her that she is no good and can't be a ballerina. And she asked the person if he could still remember her. She was answered with no. She told her that she was the girl whom he told before that was no good and can't be a ballerina.

Then the guy eventually remembered her and telling that she was actually good and could be a success ballerina. But she just let him decide for her that she don't have a future of becoming a ballerina.

There are maybe times in our lives that we will be tested by other people to really see how determined we are to achieve our goal.

augusta,

If you really feel that you have talent, but you think it's something being put aside by people... No matter what explanations they have for act like that, go on, persist and show them how wrong they were (but obviously the first reason you keep persisting is because you're doing it for yourself).

I love also drawing while i'm still a child but not to the extent that money is involved. I enjoy only things which could help my classmate out to draw somethings our teacher wants. After a several years past during my Highschool days, my mind changed and i forgot to continue my talent in drawing instead i focused to anything related to computer literature. I know there are some who just wasted some talents because they need to focus on other things that their parents wants for them and this is a sad reality that some have no freedom of choosing what they want to be. I have a talent also in dancing but i had no intentions to earn from that, i dance because i love it and i enjoy dancing.

We're actually the same like I used and loved to draw during my high school days, like literally I'm the best in the class each time we need to draw or pass some projects which has a drawing, my teacher would be just smiling and looked at me like I'm a star. My teacher even let me join a contest and sadly I didn't won but that didn't stop me from drawing until I got injured which forced me to take a different road but I do always remember that If something isn't for you, don't ever give up.

When I was a kid, I used to draw and I'm good at it. But now, I don't draw anymore and I'm not a good painter as well. I guess I'm the type of person that when I'm good at something and neglect it, eventually, I lost the skill that once I'm good at. I'm also a good programmer but forgot that as well. Here in the Philippines, we have a bad trait called "Ningas kugon". It is a Tagalog (our native language) idiomatic expression which means very enthusiastic at starting out but lose enthusiasm soon after. And I honestly admit that I have that trait also. I used to be good in drawing, playing chess, playing guitar, martial arts when I was young. Eventually I lost interest in those skills. Hopefully I won't lose my aspiration of becoming a blogger/writer.

No. Until this moment, this never happened to me. However, sometimes I think that some things that I can do well (like writing, for example) are relatively undervalued because they are viewed only as a "hobby" and not as serious work.

Honestly, I have to say that I hate when people subjugate the work of others with such a wrong look. It's so annoying (not to say another word).

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

We could not really please everyone. Some people will admire our works, others will mock us. What we need to do is just ignore the people that doesn't like us and focus on others that could be happy and inspire by our works.

Every time I hear negative comments from other people about me or my works, I'm challenged and became courageous to strive for improvements. It helps me to become motivated and determined to enhance what I can do.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

This is exactly what I do, I completely ignore those types of people. Do you have skills/talent that have been neglected?

I'm the type of professional who likes to receive criticism, as long as they are well-founded criticisms because in my point of view, when there is no coherence in the comment, it's a pure waste of time.

Yes, I thing it is also my case. I can relate to it a numerous realms like swimming, playing the recorder, dancing or singing. I used to sing a lot but because I did not receive any appreciation I stopped. As you may know, when a craft or a sklil is not practised our brain tends to give automatically such a brilliant performance as it had been used to give and the ability becomes rusty. Every now and then I sing for myself but it is not that epic´anymore. As far as the other skills are concerned, I, sadly, have to admit that their fate was similar to the singing.

It's not really a skill, but I used to be really good at short sprints. I was pretty quick and usually almost always won the 100m when it was sports day or if we were just running around for fun. But once I got into college, I never really bothered to run and I became a bit lazier as well especially with things like exams where you had to spend most days inside revising. And because of that, I have neglected the running side of me and unfortunately, I have gotten slower since.

From your responses to my question, I could see that almost of has a talent/skills that undeveloped as we grow up and years of lives passes by. These days, we could see people that are successful in the skills/talent that we use to be good before. And here we are, just watching them in awe and clapping our hands for their great successes and sometimes we said to ourselves how we wish to be like them. Where in fact, we could be really like them if we were just determined and courageous to hone our talents/skills despite other people's discouragement.

What really separates us from them, is the burning desire and a firm decision to realize what we dreamed of no matter what insurmountable challenges we face along the way of our journey.

Hmm... now that I think about it I think that I would have to say music. I can play the acoustic guitar pretty well but I have been neglecting it more and more over the years. I remember when I first got it. I played it literally till my fingers started to bleed because I was so in love with it. I always played it at the parties and smaller groups - everybody enjoyed it and people told me that I got talent. Sadly, I never pursued that way since it seems hard to get noticed. There are many really talented musicians who barely make any money.

If anything, I've been neglecting my skills on the drum set for the past couple years. I practiced regularly in high school and was improving quite quickly, but I quit playing drums when I moved out of my parent's house to attend college. I found myself in an apartment and unable to take my drum set with me, so I was only able to play when I returned home to visit my family.

I've since moved into a house and have purchased a drum set again, and have slowly been practicing more and more. I'm at a point where I don't want to practice on my own anymore, and would love to be part of band. I feel that would help push me to improve in even greater lengths.

Yes, and that is programming. I like to program anything on computer what ever might be, and it is always been my favorite hobby. Another thing I'd abandon was painting, and instrumental music. I always wonder I really don't feel to excel in music that's why I never do music training again. I use music instrument, for five years experienced, and I really proud of it, but the only thing I regret is to improve it, and no one appreciate my talent.

Even so, I am still happy that, I have a lot of new talent skills have been discovered. I am currently working on computer programming enhancement. I really love this new habit, because it makes me happy when I program a lot of systems, so it also gives me points of experience to create new level of programming.

I think I can sing quite well. If I had trained, I probably would be a star. Sadly many parents in my country don't believe in the arts as a way of earning income. If you try to pursue it when you are at school they discourage you and kill your dreams.

They are many footballers, artists and musicians who till this day live with their talents and dreams buried deep in their hearts. A wise man once said always determine your own destiny. A lesson I am only begging to learn.

This is so easy. I just learned baking cookies and making fondant cakes only through youtube. From what I gather you are creative and can draw. This is a good foundation into making fondant cakes that you can sell to others. Start by baking cookies and pack them beautifully and send them as holiday treats to friends this coming holiday season. This is a good way to advertise if you are planning to venture into this baking business. Remember though, whatever you are planning, try it and afterwards assess yourself if you loved what you just did. Otherwise, if you are only doing it because of the probably income, chances are, you will burn out and just move on to the next.

My precious talent that I was neglected is my skill on drawing so I can relate with you. I love drawing when I'm still in elementary and high school, I can still remember that I was part of Art club in my school and we compete to various competitions and different schools but everything change when I went to College, I start to neglect my talent in arts and as time gone by my skills just dissapeared and lost its track and I totally removed it in my system which I'm not happy about. Maybe because I focus more on my academics than my skills, I guess that is really how the worlds you must give up the other for you to achieve the other one. I lost my talent in Arts but I excelled in my academics finishing on top of my class. I have already found my passion which is numbers. God bless and thank you everyone.

I was the best, I won many awards for that, but right know, I can't even draw well, even if I try and try, it will still not be like the good old days

I see myself in you. Art is also the talent I have neglected. I grew up to be an anime fan so I started to love drawing and I developed my talent in arts when I was in elementary. I also love painting. I paint in bond papers when I was in college. I only do it for fun so I didn't had the idea to monetize it back then. I didn't know that painting is profitable. Paintings can be really expensive.

I neglected such talent because I pursued a career that is more in demand where I can land on a high paying job. I got so busy with work. We often work overtime. I was so busy working that I never had time to do my hobbies and develop my true talent. I ended up getting burned out at work and I got so frustrated when I realized that employment is not the right vehicle for me to get my dreams. It's actually business. I wish I didn't neglect my talent and monetize my paintings. I can earn even more there while I enjoy developing my artistic skills. I started a business so I can have financial freedom one day. When my business kicks off and give me passive income, I will definitely paint again. This time, I will monetize it while doing it as a hobby. I suggest that you don't neglect your talents in exchange of a job that won't make you happy at all. Pursue financial freedom so you are free to do the things you love while developing and monetizing your talents and hobbies.

Our talents, skills, or hobbies could also give us financial and time freedom if just developed it to its full potential. I'm seeing many people achieved great successes because of their talents, skills, or hobbies.
Almost all can be digitized and sell it to other people. There's really high demand for this. Even just creating youtube videos about our hobbies could be monetized. The talents, skills or hobbies each of us used to have before can be found in the internet shared by other people who committed time and great effort to hone it. And they are enjoying the benefits of it.

Well, I've neglected every skill that I've had. I'm a good drawer, I'm good preparing desserts, I'm pretty good playing football soccer and I have other skills that I've never used as a source of income because I'm not an ambitious person. I'm not in love of money, I just want to learn a lot of stuff and to enjoy the experience.

I am extremely good with websites, but I have a hard time working on anything but my own websites. Back in 2003 I was offered a job to design websites that started @ $40k a year. But I turned down the job due to my mental illness. Its way too stressful to work on anything but my own websites!

Oh, that was really a great opportunity many people are trying to get an web developer job. I have created my own website also but I'm not extremely good. There's need for me to learn more. Creating training videos on how to become a web developer could also be a source of income.

Since I was a little kid I was really "fond" of money so I tryed exploding every single little hability I had or that I would learn with time. I even try to explode some of them that I didn't actually had, lol, I even learned how to draw just because I wanted to make and sell Henna tatoos.

In our busy adulthood, the things we enjoy doing when we were young are suddenly left behind because of far bigger priorities we set. Sometimes these are also shelved when we are not emotionally able. But the good thing is, these talents are engraved in us that when we decide to tap into it once again, we will find that lost bearing again and will be able to enhance and develop them once again. So don't stop trying and who knows, this might just be a hobby to you back then, but you might see an opportunity for it now.

Bakery is my other hidden skill, or I would say cooking in general, but mostly all about desserts and pastries. Unfortunately, I work a lot, so I don't have time enough study or prepare myself for it in a proper way. Mostly of what I know is self taught, looking for recipes, cooking, trying variations, and agree or disagree. So far, I've helped my friends and relatives on their birthdays or family reunions, by doing sweets tables, cakes, brownies and bonbons. Definitively I would to learn more about it.

I always wonder about this. I love driving and I think I'm good at it but to be a professional driver, take part in rallies and stuff like that you have to practice since being a child and have a lot of money. I think there are many people whose talents weren't discovered because they lacked the money.

Yes there are people that they chose to work to earn money instead of honing their talents/skills. Sometimes the lack of money kills the talents/skills that a person has.

Yeah, I have neglected my drawing skills, I was a good drawer, back in my college days, but I just neglected it and now I'm regretting it, I just feel like renewing the good old days, but it's gone, even when I try and try to perfect on it. But it can never be as good as it was in my college days.

I used to be a good baker back then, when I was in my twenties. I sell my brownies and cupcakes on my friends and neighbors. Even at the offices near in my vicinity. And to my surprise, they loved it! But when I got pregnant to my first born, I decided to stop because I have to focus on my motherhood. Yes.,there are times that I neglect it. I miss baking! Sometimes if I have much time, I still baked on especial occasions.

When I was in my younger age, I decided to study how to play piano. However my attention was diverted when I started working. Since then I wasn't able to practice playing the instrument even if I have one to use to. It's one of the things that I miss doing. I also have other interests but I really don't have spare time to spend doing them that's why I miss my childhood and my teenage days when I still have lesser priorities. But it doesn't mean that I'm complaining of the things I have at present. I just wish I still have time to enhance my skills and practice my talents. I know that these are God's blessings and I should be doing something to improve the abilities that He gave me.

Now that I'm reminded, I'm thinking of having a refresher for music lesson.

I think it's never too late to learn again what you love to do when you still young. There are people who started doing things at their 60s and they still manage to enjoy and become successful.

At first sight, age can be a great barrier but I think when there is a great willpower to really want to learn or to return something from where everything has stopped, the things are going to show themselves in a way that you can handle (and be satisfied with).

I have not experienced being neglected for my skills at work but I did for a number of times while applying for a job. I never dwell much on the pain aspect because there would always be someone better than me. In addition to that, I always tell God that I'm going to do my best and he will do the rest. So if ever I still didn't get hired, then it's not for me. God has a different purpose then.

I was also neglected by my cooking skills. Well, at home that is. :=)

Yes I have a lot of skills and talents that has never been made use. I can draw. I can write. I am creative and do all my work with precision and hard work but these things have never been made use. I have discovered these skills and talents way back when I was a kid. In fact I have joined a lot of competitions to enhance such skills but because of the line of work that I do and the oddity of using them from time to time. I get lost track of them but lately I have been doing some blogging and created a facebook page community group that enhances writing skills and art work. It is just knew and recently created hope it will do will with people like me who has what it takes but just not given the privilege but I know it is not to late. Hopefully I can still make use of it in the future.

Yes, I have a talent/skill that has been neglected since 2013. I am a Mathematician, specially endowed in training and bringing the best out of children. I trained and produced more than twenty champions in the field of Mathematics within10 - 12 years, but wasn't appreciated at all. Promises were made, but were never fulfilled for once.

There came a time when I thought about my life and decided to quit this job. Since 2013, I have stopped training children considering the fact that the job was not rewarding, though I am planning to start a school of my own where I will be able to carry on with the mission.

The field of mathematics is really complicated that's why only few students in a class have interest in learning it. Being a mathematician is really a great skill and producing children that are best in mathematics is really fulfilling. Maybe you were just been a part of institution that doesn't really appreciate your value. Starting your own school is good because you will be able to use your full potential and could help lots of students. Good Luck!!

Like some people mentioned and spoke of above, I regret neglecting my innate talent for drawing, sketching, and art. it was such a passion of mine as a kid, and I drifted away from it with work, school, writing, and other just "life" occurrences. I've gone back to this over the years, in fits and spurts, but I can't seem to stick to it or enjoy it as much as I once did. and my writing has pretty much overtaken all of my creative life. I do still play a lot of guitar, and I love music, but I am honest enough with myself to know that I am not talented or dedicated enough to pursue that as a career. I think that we all have hidden and revealed talents which we have not had the time or inclination to develop, and this is an unfortunate predicament of surviving in the modern world, I think.

I am an artist and I accept commissions. I also draw in Illustrator but I'm still starting to learn. I have been rejected on some artworks that I've made for commissions. Some are even fully done when they rejected it. It is so disappointing but I would have to work on it more so I can be able to work on it full time.

I used to imitate people who sing when I was young and I felt I could really sing well but I never put much focus into it. I also used to draw well when I was 12 years old. I remember my classmates could not draw, so they could ask me to draw for them before the teacher came to check assignments. I still look at my old exercise books and admire my drawing because it was so perfect. I also like dancing and I still do. I am planning on enroll in a dancing school after finishing school.

Probably a lot. When i was younger i had a thing for ending halfway some sort of skills i started developing interest on. I did drawings too back in high school and made a lot in exchange for it.

Lost talents to me are like a road gone bad or too dark to see what lurks ahead. If you believe in destiny like i do, then you'll understand that those so called lost talents were actually distractions.

Yes. I used to draw a lot and I think I was fairly good at it and could probably have made it good enough to become my profession, but unfortunately it just wasn't what I really wanted to do and it's not really something that I excelled at more than my peers anyway. I guess I could have just done something with more of an identity or my own personality in it to compensate for the lack of skill, but it just wasn't my interest so I stopped drawing altogether years ago and I haven't drawn more than a few doodles since.

Yes, I do have some skills which I am not taking advantage of. As a teenager, I used to be very good at Soccer not until I realized other girls my age didn't really like the same thing. This meant I'll always get to play with the boys and get teased by the girls. Now as a teenager at that time who cared about what most people thought about her, I gave up playing soccer and began showing more interest in painting my nails. Years later, I still want to play football, but I know I could've been better if I'd been consistent.

There was also a time I began showing interest in Table Tennis, and boy! was I good? Whatever happened after that, I can't really recall. I think I gradually lost interest or my passion for it and found interest in something else. Nevertheless, I still have childhood memories of competing against adults in Table Tennis, and embarrassingly, winning them. Thinking about it now, I could've ended up playing one of these sports at a professional level and turning it into a career.

Asides sports, I do have a creative side that used to make dresses either knitted by hand or sewn with a machine. If I'd tried to improve myself, I would've probably turned out to be a very talented seamstress. Now there's something common to each of these, I'm good at them and seem to be excited about them for a while, not until I lose interest and find something more challenging to be good at. Amongst all these, the only skill that has been a part of my life is my writing skills.

I also like to draw during Elementary but I neglected that skill during High School. As far as I could remember, some of my classmates before during activities, they always call for my help when it comes to illustrating things and stuff that they can't draw. I was also an active participant in poster and slogan making contests before but when I entered one during High School I lost my confidence because my co-competitors were better than me and so I decided to just neglect it and never entered again. However, I still enjoy things that are related to drawing like creating templates for posters in Photoshop. I guess I've became more of a cyber artist. However, if you ask me to draw now I guess I won't be able to have the same product I make with computer with a product that I make using pencil and paper.

I think that in my case it is various playing musical instruments. As a child I would play the piano or the guitar a lot for ages everyday. However, my parents didn't support me in this activity and threw the musical instruments away so I have never developed it. If I had attended some courses I would have been able to play both at concerts or in my free time. I still like playing the piano but it is occasional and quite rare. It is pity that my effort and time didn't go into such learning at the time when I was so interested in it.

Mine would also be playing musical instruments. I used to love playing the guitar when I was in high school. But when I reached college, I didn't have enough time to play music because of my schedule. I think I can still play some songs that really stuck with me but not as good as I could back then.

As they say, you use it or you lose it. But I think if we practiced things or skills that we are good at before, we could easily relearn them now. Do you have skills/talent that have been neglected?

Dancing. I remember when I was still studying, I was one of the top dancer in class. Back in high school, every morning when my aunt and cousins had gone to school (for I lived with them those times but I study in a different school which is just a 10 minute walk from home), I would set the radio to high volume and dance my heart out for I was left all alone and was supposed to get for school. I would always end up late and would missed Flag ceremonies, I would have to pick plastics or garbage that were not thrown properly on trash cans before they let me in. (haha the feeling of nostalgia) Now I never get to dance, I guess I should get back to it.

The only talent I have is dancing aside from that I have no more talent. When I was a kid dancing was just for fun I didn't take it seriously because I thought there's no career for dancing. I'm kind of envy those people who have many talents or skills because you can really make money on talent what you enjoy most. There's a dancing choreographer here that works in TV entertainment and she's very famous now and owns lots of dance studio. I guess if you really passionate about your skills or talents you'll make a difference in your life, enjoying and not regretting that you pursue your dream.

Yes. Sketching and painting. I used to be so in love in painting and sketching natures.
I have several drawings when I was a kid. But then, I lost them.
I lost them when a storm hits our country. I cried trying to find my "treasures" but I am not that glad to see them again.
Since then, I never tried it again. I don't know why but I lose the excitement of starting to draw again.

Yeah, I do. I have always loved drawing and it happened that my father neglected my desire of becoming an artist. He thought that everything related to art is a waste of time. I have never left my passion because someone thought it is not worth it at all. I remember that since I was a teenager I had no inspiration and it was hard for me to draw a person. I was copying drawings from the internet. I grew up and saved some money for drawing classes. There they taught me to draw a human body correctly with the help of a drawing mannequin. I could prove my father that this passion is more than just a hobby.

It seems to me that everyone has such a thing.First of all, I always loved cards, they attracted me.I tried to look for an explanation on different sources and for example here https://thetarot.guru. Thus, various methods and types of divination on tarot cards began to appear. After graduating from high school, I do not know where to go further to study and my old friend advised me to try toro cards to determine my future fate. Cards prompted me to go to the designer and I really liked this idea because since childhood I liked to draw and create something unusual.

If you think that you have some problems and the doctor says that it is nothing, and you don't trust him, better go to another doctor. I can suggest also taking all the analyzes from the last doctor. I am also a doctor, a Dialysis Technician. I work b making the analyzes in the laboratory and sometimes even professional medical equipment can't detect a disease that is in your body. In this case, I would suggest you wait a little bit, and if it gets better, the doctor was right, if not, you will need to repeat all the analyzes and visit again the doctor.

And I also get paid for it by playing soccer and computer games. But I was also pretty good at drawing, if you think about it. But I didn't develop that skill. I guess it can be attributed to your category of neglected talents. But actually, it is not very difficult to develop them. There are different ways to do it, from educational games to hard training.
