Do you always go on holidays during Christmas

Most of us currently work on one website or another while some of us are engaged with offline activities as well. Do you always consider taking some days off to enjoy the period of Christmas or you work in a place where work continues during the festive period?

Christmas is a great opportunity for family gatherings and taking a break from work. A quality time spend with your family is never wasted. You have to reward yourself a break and spend more time with your family.

I agree with you on this that the time that we spend with our family members is never a waste. The thing is that we always have the opportunity to see those that we haven't seen in a long time when we travel for Christmas.

Okay no holiday but I do go to visit my grandparents since we have some form of a common get-together with the whole family.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Barida
A get together party is always nice for people to get to see relations that they have missed for long. This is a great way that you get to enjoy some good moments which is pretty cool as well. It was one of those moments that you get to feel good and nice as well.

Just like me. Usually, I have to keep working on my schedule, because I have freelance and also my regular job, but I always try to take time to go with my parents. We are a big family if you count cousins, uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, etc. So, Christmas season is the time of the year that we tend to get together, have dinner/lunch as a big bunch, and share our family time.

I also work up to the last week maybe date 22 December and then it is time to go to where the getogether is scheduled for the year.

Just like me. I'm always trying to fix my schedule, even if it means traveling on Christmas day. Honestly, I always try to get some couple of days off, but if it's not possible, I would do all that I can to be there with my family. You always have to make time for them, specially on holidays like this season.

I have also found must on the journey during the day of the festivities. It can be quite boring but done for a genuine purpose.

i think that Christmas is the time when you meet your friends and family and spend your time with them. I would say that this is th only occasion when you get the opportunity meet all your extended family and friends who may be living far from you. Once you enjoy the holidays you get recharged and energized to resume your Work.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Barida
Yeah, that is just it. I mean everything is not all about work and getting to see the people that we have not seen for so long is important. I mean we get to have relaxed moments which will help our productivity level when we decide to get back at work.

Well, I believe that we should at least spend the Christmas Holidays without stress and away from the busy schedule of work. So, I always grab the opportunity to take my days off and keep myself away from my usual task. I want to treat myself with relaxation. That's the only sure gift that I can give to myself during Christmas.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

amelia88
Allowing yourself time off to relax truly is a gift. As an adult I’ve come to realize I want less material items and more things like free time. Allowing myself some serious time to just switch off is one of the best gifts I can offer myself!

I agree with you that we should spend time with our families and friends during Christmas to avoid busy schedule in order to understand each other better

I think that most of the time I go off from my online and offline work to have some shopping during Christmas season since it is only once in year and I always take advantage of it. It is very enjoyable to go shopping during Christmas season because we all know that most people have lots of money because it is where bonuses of some employees are given.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

ballyhara
I tend to do this too if I have the chance. It's hard for me to fix my regular job and freelance, but whenever I can take some moments off, I just get some time to do some shopping, help out my parents at home with dinner and decorations, wrap the gifts, visit friends, anything to keep the Christmas spirit.

Christmas season is the most awaited time of the year. It is the time where most people have some extra money to spare. The time where almost everyone are free from their work so it is a great opportunity to take a break and spend your time with your family and friends.

For me it's a great time to work because most people are on vacation, so there's a lot of work around. I'm a part-time freelancer that's why I can schedule my working hours.

It happens only one day year and this forces us to enjoy it to the blast by going to outings having family gatherings and this helps so much enjoy the day together

I prefer to go into the holidays. Because going into regular holidays makes things easier for me and family. And we get to bond together. In such context, you can see that holidays are good for both spiriual and also for the health. So I think taking break from the work. And keeping in touch with the friends and the family is a good thing.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

knnon
Here it's a non working holiday so no choice. We usually just stay home and wait for company, or we go visit relatives and close friends who live nearby. But this year it's going to be different because we'll be going on a holiday on Christmas for the first time. I'm slightly excited but at the same time I'm not because this would only mean more spending.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Kakashi2020
I remember when I was still working in a company, working on holidays is either double pay or if the holiday is really important like if it's Christmas or New Year then I get paid triple.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

ballyhara
Yes I know that part. And I used to fall in that trap because of the money, But, eventually and due to some events that has happened, I found out spending time with my family doesn't worth that money, so I always take time to share important dates like Christmas and New Year with them.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

knnon
I guess you're right about it being a trap. I haven't tried going to work on a holiday, do they usually give you twice the amount of work? I think for some they choose going to work because family sometimes isn't really the best thing in their life. I know a few and I understand their situation.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

ballyhara
Well, usually in Christmas and depending on the kind of job you have, you may have more amount of work, because there are coworkers that don't attend the job for multiple reasons. And yes, sometimes people grow up in a very dysfunctional family environment, so keeping distance from it means more a needing that an option, totally understandable, but so sad anyway.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

knnon
I guess that makes it more stressful having to have more work.

Yes that's one of the reasons I was thinking. But of course there are some who'd prefer spending time with friends and other people just because they'd rather be with others.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

ballyhara
The whole point, is to enjoy these special holidays with people you love, doesn't matter if they're not your family. Obviously, being with family is the expected tradition, but as long as you spend the season with people that represent happiness, joy, and love to you, that's also valid.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

knnon
I think the holidays is also a good excuse to throw parties. There's one almost every weekend! My neighbor even threw a party 2 nights straight. How's the party scene over there where you live?

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

knnon
Yes the elusive triple pay! Do they still offer that these days?

I think there are people who would rather go to work than spend Christmas with their family. I think it would depend on what an individual is going through.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Back in the days when I used to work in the office, yes. They used to offer you a very good earning, for staying and cover those coworkers who took holidays. I did it a couple of times, and that's really exhausting, and the earning doesn't look that good in the end. Thank God my family is really a very nice one, and I don't want to spend special days working, instead of sharing good moments with them.

I always work, on holidays, on weekends. I don't have any day offs. That's the price you gotta pay for being self hired. But then again, when others work I take day offs. Ah, sweet life, hehe. I just work until I feel too tired to continue, then I take day offs, and it's totally random.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

You know, you remind me of me haha. We're exactly the same. I only take a day or two off if and when I'm totally tired or if sick.

I never pass when it comes to online work. If it's offline work the I'll be on vacation from the 20th until the 3rd of January but if it's online writing work, then I'll make time for it.

That’s a nice break away from your offline work, it certainly gives you a good amount of time to enjoy the festive season and being with family. I think a lot of organizations close over the Christmas period so many people get large breaks like yours - lucky!

In my field of work we don't have those holiday leaves. Our company is open 24 hours and I never experience that they are close for some reasons. We only have one day off at work per week. We also have those graveyard shift work so there are chance to work on a holiday even though it was Chtistmas or New Year. But this year I was so lucky that the holidays are exactly at my day off. We usually celebrate at home with my family and we never tried going out while on holiday because of the load of people and the traffic will consume a lot of your time. So we just bond together at home.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Goodness, I imagine it’s almost impossible to get time off over Christmas if you work somewhere that is open 24 hours. I hope that even if you have to work that the Christmas season isn’t as hectic as other times of the year.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

I usually still try to do bits and pieces around the lead up to Christmas but I try and leave Christmas Day itself work free. Especially since I have young children I try to keep those holidays as work free zones so we can really enjoy the day all together.

When I work from January to December, why wouldn't I take the opportunity which the Christmas season brings me to go for holidays and relax myself?

Life is not all about work all the time, rest is very important in the life we live.

I agree. I'm sure we'd all love to spend time enjoying the festivities. Because after that, everything goes back to the way it was. This one of the few times where everyone's cheerful and happy.

It's amazing how you get to see how much your family and friends have missed you all because you are too committed with your work almost all day in all through the year.

So, when Christmas comes, I would never give up the opportunity to use it and spend quality time with my family and friends.

I always find time for the holidays. It only comes once a year. So why not make it special? I spend time with family and friends while enjoying home cooked meals. It makes it very worthwhile.

It is always nice to go on a holiday, but we should always ensure that we don't spend so much while on it. This is the thing that we should always understand when we are talking about getting to enjoy the holidays.

The food is not even my priority during Christmas holidays. There are lots of activities that goes on in the environment this Christmas season and I would avail myself to try as much as possible to make sure that I take part in all of them.

The general community football (soccer) is something that is very interesting and intriguing, I would never miss it.

Sometimes during holidays I am helping with my partner in cleaning the house or doing some house chores because I want to give time for my partner to relax for a while after doing a lot of work at home. I think it is a good way to say thank you to my partner during holiday season for doing a great job in attending our kids and taking good care of them.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Wow! That's helpful to have that kind of partner that will always be there for the kids. One thing that I have come to understand is that family is everything and the need for us to be with them during holidays is necessary.

Going on holidays every Christmas used to be tradition for me. That was until I turned 15. I sort of outgrew the whole idea of traveling to spend the holidays with relatives.
When I got older and moved out of the house, I started traveling back home to enjoy Christmas with the family. There have been some years however that I did not travel for the Christmas holidays.

It is all about responsibilities and being able to handle a whole lot of things as well. There are people that can't just leave their place of work for Christmas because of one reason or another.

I outgrew the Christmas tradition of spending it with your family. I'd rather just stay alone during the holidays because of the many hassles it brings. Public transportation is a head spinner during holidays. Not to mention, anywhere with your family is not an environment where you can relax and cherish your precious vacation time. At least for me.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Alania
Actually, no. Housewives don't have holidays, haha. But jokes aside, every god blessed day is a holiday for me. Because I wake up in our own house doing honest work and being around my family all the time. Plus I do freelancing as passive income. Christmas is just a holiday with snow for me, haha!

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

It is nice that you combine everything with working as a freelancer. Freelancing is one of the best ways that we get to meet a whole lot of people out there while learning one or two things as well.

I think it is not always that I would go shopping whenever there is a holiday season during Christmas because sometimes I am very busy with my freelancing activities as i have a daily income target that I want to reach out. I know it is good to go shopping but sometimes I don't have the money to do that is why I am just focusing on other things that would benefit me most.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Martinsx1
Personally, I don't do any serious shopping during Christmas holidays because I have actually done and dusted my shopping activities before the eve of Christmas.

With how hot the shopping mall gets in deep Christmas season, I wouldn't get my struggling under such circumstances all in the name of shopping.

I always want to take at least two weeks off for the Christmas holidays.I don't know how possible this will be this year because I'm not sure I will have enough money to be able to take some time off. Let's see how much money I will make next week and this will determine whether I will take the two weeks off or not. I might decide to cut it to just Christmas day, boxing day and new years and continue working or take a week off or post pond my holiday to the last two weeks in January. its definitely important to take some time off to recharge.

I believe it is worth it to always consider taking some days off to enjoy the period of Christmas instead of working during the festive period. It only happens once a year so why not take the opportunity to spend some time with your families and love ones, It is worth it. We people forget why we need to earn money. It's for our families, right? Instead of money, which we already have, let us give them our time and company during the holidays.

I always take time of during Christmas. I spend it with my family in our ancestral house. It is really important to teak time off even if it is not Christmas, giving yourself a breather would refresh your mind and would give you a clear head to finish your tasks when you come back to work. There was a period of time when I was working for a company in an industry where it is the norm to work during Christmas and the New year's, it wasn't wort it. Spend the time with your family, pamper yourself. You deserve it.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Definitely yes! In my family it is a highly celebrated holiday. Thus, no one of us works during Christmas. It's the only time of the year when we all gather together and have dinner, and share presents. However, last year we decided to celebrate winter holidays abroad, and we all went to Mexico. It was unusual to celebrate Christmas at the beach, though we really had fun. I think you have to get at least a day off to celebrate Christmas with your family. If you decide to go on a trip , check this site https://www.travelsafe-abroad.com/...laya-del-carmen/ for more information.

Yes and no. We try to make it every year in Alabama, but sometimes we have better plans. Of course, we make it up by attending other important family days like Thanksgiving or Easter. There are times when trips like the ones in Europe are a one time opportunity due to a great price you can find online. We are getting this exclusive trip to Greece this summer and already looking for things to do in Santorini. One of the most probable will be taking a couple of tours apart from sunbathing all day.
