Oils, acrylic or water color paint?

I have used oil paints before, but they are very tricky to work with due to the consistency and taking so long to dry. I like the finished look of oil paint on canvas as it always looks so beautiful. I like how fast acrylic paint dries. However, the finished look of acrylic paint is matte and dull, so I don't like that very much. I have seen many beautiful water color paintings but have not figured out how to paint in water colors yet. I think that I need higher quality water color paints to work with.

Please give your opinion on all oils, acrylic and water color paint and which is your preferred medium.

Most classic paintings are done in oil rather than acrylic. Oil stands the test of time and never looks old. Even the Mona Lisa was painted in oil.

Liquid paints are not my medium. I don't like the loose texture. And, I haven't been able to master painting so far. I like the structured texture that you can create with pencil drawing.

I like to create sketches on various medium for hobby and profit. Many times I will just give the item away as a gift.

This has been a good way to save money on gifts.

I don't really use a wet medium for my sketches though I've used pen and ink for sketches. This is almost as good as using pencils

Mixed media is the big deal nowadays and most art is a combination of techniques not just oil painting anymore. No one is an oil paint purists in the way they were in the old days.

At one time, I did not like the messy nature of liquid paints for art. Lately though, I am getting into this style of painting as it's very free and flowing.

I am not an artist, however, I enjoy painting. When I paint, I use water color. I am also art buyer, I have not bought many art works, however, when I buy I prefer to buy acrylic. I buy paintings done with acrylic color because the acrylic color is durable.

I use watercolor when I paint but I must say that I am not a professional in painting, this is just a hobby for me and I am painting only when I get bored or I have a bad or depressive mood.
