What are the standard sizes for banners sold?

I want some banners designed for my blog but not sure if I could hire someone as the size that I need is very odd. What are the typical banner sizes which are sold online? Could I request a custom size for a banner, even if it's not the usual size sold by that person?

I can't see why you couldn't have it sized to suit your blog. Just provide the Seller the the specs you require, and it shouldn't be a problem. Be sure though, to give them the right numbers, as it needs to be accurate to fit your blog perfectly ;)

One major thing you've got to do is to talk with the person designing your banner on the sizes that you need for your banner and I don't think it is going to be such a huge task for he/she since they can always fit into what the clients want so as to deliver good services that will make you come back next time.

Having a banner of a size you want wouldn't be any problem for an SEO expert. just give the person the specific and the person would work with just that.

Banner sizes changes per website. For example banner size on facebook page is different. And banner size on the wordpress website is lot different. You have to check editors such as canva where you can find the value for some of such designs. And then from there itself you can do the banner design and the editing. It can give you some options for the banner editing and export into the format of your choice. You can also check out the documentation of the wordpress, facebook pages etc. And then decide on the banner size. Don't try to find one size fits all thing here. That may never work at all.
