    How to train a kitten to use a litter box

    We have a small kitten and he is having trouble learning to use the litter box. Can you give me advice on how to make this process easier for him?

    Your kitten will need to see this process demonstrated by other cats before he can learn. Also, there will be a communal smell that is surrounding a shared litter box that will instinctively train the kitten to do the right thing.

    Place your kitty a clean litter box and allow them to feel it. Put them in a few times and they will get the hang of it.

    And, be sure to keep the litter box clean and free of odors or they will mess up other parts of your home by mistake.

    Your kitten will need to see this process demonstrated by other cats before he can learn. Also, there will be a communal smell that is surrounding a shared litter box that will instinctively train the kitten to do the right thing.


    This is especially true if the mother is still with the kitten. However for an orphaned or abandoned kitten, you will have to rely upon another cat for this. It usually works better if the mom is there though as it makes litter training go easier as she can demonstrate that for the kittens.

    If there is a another grownup adult cat within your neighborhood or any mother cat around, I think you should sought the assistance of the cats owner in helping your little kitten learn how to use the litter box to her business.

    But if you can't really get an assistance of a mother or another adult cat already knows the drill, you simply just need to be patient with your kitten as with time from your training and display to her when she doesn't use the litter box in her presence, it would definitely understand one day sooner or later.
