Our community has re-built a "Lifestyle Center" which includes a big new library, along with other recreational activities. I haven't visited the new facility yet, but I look forward to checking it out to see what the variety is like, and what else is there that's beneficial for my family Do you read library books?

I got my first library card way back when I was in grade school, and I have enjoyed libraries ever since. Because I loved horses, most of my early books were the Black Stallion series by Walter Farley (and beautifully illustrated by Marguerite Henry)and later read many of the classics, like Little Women, and Uncle Tom's Cabin, some of which were required reading for school classes.
Now, I have a Kindle, and mainly read from online books, some are from the online library (Overdrive app) and some are from the Kindle Store. While I do like library books, and they are free to read, the problem is that sometimes, you want to keep the book, and with a library book, it has to always be returned. Still, it is a good way to round out your education and learn new things, and i think that libraries will always be popular, whether in actual buildings, or in the online ones. We are not really close to the big downtown library here where I live, which makes it a special trip to go there and then another trip to return the books, so using the online library (even though it is a much smaller selection) works better for me.

I remember in a year during school days, the librarian used to tell me that I am the only student that can complete 3 library cards .

I was one of those students too. I used to read a lot. And this type of hobby continues into the reading. I have mostly the news sites. This is where I am reading the most. Curiosity and the few other science based apps is where I am investing the money these days. Those are some interesting time when I used to spend time on library.

I absolutely love going to the library and reading books. We have this amazing, very old and famous (in my country) library. It has been recently renovated and now it's even more beautiful. They've even added a whole extra floor so now we have a total of four floors and as many books as you could want! I remember when I first went to the library and how excited I was. I could never decide which books I want to read because there were always so many... from crime books, short stories, mysteries and more. They always have a ton of DVDs and other things to borrow as well. It's pretty amazing and I know that people have somewhat stopped visiting libraries and reading books from there but I still do it. I go at least once per week.

Back when I was still in the university, I also often went to the library to study. What I did was, I looked up specific books online, reserved them then went to the library and studied there for hours.

Yes! I love the library, although I don't go nearly as often as I would like. When I moved away from home to go to college, I quickly found myself at the local library signing up for my library card. In general, I try and use the library for all of my graphic novel and comic book needs as opposed to novels due to my time restraints currently. If I have a longer book, I'd like to own it so I can take my time with it, as I don't have a whole lot of time to devote to reading.

Our downtown library is gorgeous, with huge walls of windows that look out on the city, so it's a really peaceful place to sit and read if you have the time. Plus, I enjoy the fact that they work to keep places like libraries running so the public can have access to the knowledge and entertain it provides.

I still do and also consider it as a very good way to relax our mind. When I go to a library I tend to forget the surroundings and I feel like I am inside of the book that I reading.

I am not much into reading these days. Most of what I am reading is into the online ebooks. So that's how I am spending most of my time. I am also reading the content on the web. And hopefully that works out for me more effectively as well. I guess with enough time spent on this I am guessing it does end up helping me. I don't have local library nearby and I have to travel a lot distance. So surely library of books takes their respective time to work out. On that basis I'd say I read very less library content these days.

When I was a student, I used to visit the school/college library and read resource books. I used to borrow books from the library every week. I also went to the library outside the school/college. I was a member of various libraries including British Council and American Library. I continued visiting the library after I completed my university program. I was a regular at British Council and the American Library. However, after I discovered the power of the internet, I stopped visiting a library. These days, most of my research is done online.

While I was at the University, I enjoyed reading books I borrowed from the library and it helped me in passing most of my examinations. One good thing about reading books from the library is that it helps one to save the cost of buying the books new as well as help you to read the required text for your exams.

Oh yes, I do visit the library ever month to borrow those fiction books. My son's primary school has a mini library where teacher allows them to borrow 3 languages of books, English, Chinese and Malay story books. He has found lots of fiction books of Chinese language which had capture his interest in reading. A week later, the teacher will ask them to write down the summarize of the books they had read and what are the interesting facts about them.

I'm actually not a fan of reading books at a library. But back in college I remember going to the library a few times when exams are coming to review. Our university library is the only place I've known that time where I can peacefully study.

I do not have time to read any book anymore, but in the past, I was reading books from the library because it was cheaper in this way, a book is very expensive to buy. I was looking for the most expensive books in the library and rent them for a couple of weeks.
I was subscribed at a library next to my house and I paid around 4 dollars a month!

my country has both National and state library which is open daily for the public, so I take advantage of it when I'm less busy to read some books that are in stock that I fancy as well.

We do have some libraries over here but to be honest I rarely visit them. I used to go to libraries very often when I was still a student. Nowadays we can easily look for something on the internet. Moreover I prefer to buy eBooks now. Most of the times I can buy them at a much cheaper price.

Used to go to library a lot when I was a kid. Nowadays, I do like to go to Library, but unfortunately I can't do it here where I live. But when I go abroad, I enjoy libraries so much. I like to participate in all the activities, they have, get the card for frequent use, and bring my friends and relatives, so they can see all that they can get there. Not only you can rent books, but also movies, videos, magazines, brochures, and audiobooks. Definitively I do love libraries.

No. I would be interested to know who still does. With the advent of e-books who still reads books in the library. Speaking from my experience of libraries in my country all our libraries are outdated. Unless you're researching a history essay their books are not relevant to current times. If you want to read you're better off going online. You can even get some free library book.
