Product Reviews, How Do You Do It?

So my kids sometimes get sucked into youtube and they watch these toy reviews of kids with a whole bunch of toys unboxing and playing with all of them! They actually have lots of views.

What I am wondering is...are they getting paid to do these reviews? Do these kids just really like toys and just do the review for fun?
Is there a way to contact these companies to be hired to do these reviews?

I'm curious because I catch my girls, sometimes, trying to do reviews and I think it would be cool to have them do some reviews!

I do some reviews, sometimes with my kids and sometimes not. Sometimes I review something just because I love it and I want to share about it.

Other times I do reviews and add my affiliate link for people to buy what I have reviewed and yes sometimes the company pays me directly to review their products or company.

So there are different reasons... also remember some people have a monetized channel on Youtube so they might just be doing it for the Youtube income Product Reviews, How Do You Do It?

My channel is also monetized but I focus mainly on my websites and I use my Youtube channel to back up my websites rather than as a main source of income Product Reviews, How Do You Do It?

Well I have a product review page on my website which I share on social media and it is clearly shown on my website too. Then I registered with Webfluential which is turning out to be a really awesome website.
It connects influencers with people that are looking for marketers to help with campaigns.
I have gotten at least one really cool job each month with them for 3 months. The latest job I am being paid $230 just for social media campaigns to help them spread a message. Not bad huh?

This is not bad at all! Me and my wife have been trying to get into this for years and have not been able to figure it out. I see so many Youtube channels of people doing reviews and making money at the same time. From what i understand they send the product to you for free to do the review and then you get paid from Youtube for the views. This is the ultimate business free products and getting paid at the same time. I am going to sign up to this website and see if i fit in here. Thanks for sharing Lynne i appreciate all your help especially now. Thanks for sharing!

It is a pleasure, any time!

I forgot to say that yes a few local companies have sent me some products for free, in the hopes that I do a review, I still have to get around to doing one for a company called BeeBee Box!

Let me know at any time if I can help you get started. I would think the best thing is to get started with doing reviews. Until you are doing them nobody will approach you to do them Product Reviews, How Do You Do It?

So whatever toys or books you have lying around the house that you love, whip them out and do a review. You can then monetize your channel, plus until people start sending you things or paying you, you can affiliate with Amazon or other stores and pop your affiliate link on your videos....

Just search for any affiliate programs... eBay has one too. I bought a tutu for my daughter from eBay and then did a Youtube video of her and wrote a review of it... so yes I paid for the tutu... like $4.99 or something and then I have content for my website. Product Reviews, How Do You Do It?

This is pretty interesting, I'm reading all the replies and getting more and more into it. Looks like a nice way to make some extra money, in a comfy way. My cousins are game addicted, and my goddaughter will love to do reviews of her make up and toys. I used to check some review videos about toys, before buying any for them. But this is so much better.

Oh yes! Doing Youtube reviews can really turn into a full blown business! First, you will get ad revenue from your youtube videos, the more videos you have the bigger the paycheck will be at the end of the day.

Apart from this, you can get sponsored merchandise from toy companies as well as straight out money for making the reviews. Unboxing videos are really popular nowadays and for some reason this is a very efficient marketing strategy to implement so all the toy manufacturers want to get in on this.

The real problem is getting those contracts happen, you need to have a really large audience and subscribers for big companies to agree with sending you toys and paying for the reviews.

that makes sense though to have to have a following in order for these companies to give you toys and merchandise to review! thanks for the insight Christian!

I have watched some of the Youtube reviews , usually for some gadget that I either just bought or that I want to buy. After I got the new iPhone, I watched several videos, but there were more like a tutorial than a review of the product. I think that making tutorials can be a good idea, too. Sometimes, we have had something that stopped working right, as an example, the vacuum cleaner, and my husband watched several trouble-shooting videos for that type of vacuum cleaner, and then he was able too fix ours and get it working right again. Most of these videos have ads at the beginning, and I know that it helps the person make some money. I have never even tried making either a review or a tutorial video; but I think that if you have something interesting to say about an item or product, then making a you tube video would be a good plan.

I have watched many review videos on youtube. Sometimes if I want o buy something I watch some reviews about of that item, because I want to make sure it was real and effective or it was worth it to pay. Maybe for me, before you do reviews you should use it before you give a review for you to know what to say to those people who will watch your reviews. And make sure you're being honest on your review.

I only review products that I have used. When I review products, I only review products that I really liked. I don't bother with products that I did not like. My main motive of reviewing a product is to recommend a product that you can trust. I don't like giving negative reviews. I have watched reviews on youtube, sometimes I feel like they are giving a genuine review and sometimes I feel like they are reviewing because they think the product is of high value and they can get views on their review videos easily.

I definitely agree with you. You must always be honest about reviewing a product. In that case, reviewing would be easier because you dont have to tell things that are not true. It would be more effective to the costumers if they can see the genuine review of someone than those who obviously doing the review for cash.

My friend is having tons of products to review from different companies, she had the opportunity from free reviews she did on her youtube channel and other companies love it and started sending her
products for review.

So start a youtube channel and review some products you have at home for a start, you could monetize with
Google AdSense and other affiliate marketing program.

With the explosion of e-commerce, product reviewing has increased especially with retail giants like Amazon, that sell so many products, you are spoilt for choice.

Apart from Youtube, they are other ways you can review products. Companies like Product Report card can send you free samples to try and pay you up to $150 for your review.

You can also join the Good housekeeping testing panel or the Johnson and Johnson friends and neighbours who can send you products especially children's products.

They are many companies that send free product samples. I'm not sure how this would work if you live outside the USA.

As I know, you can earn money in YouTube but it has some rules and regulations on what you should shoot to earn money. They have some conditions to earn money from them. And I know someone who makes money just by giving reviews in opening toys. They really earn real money from it. Now, they have many subscribers and views. This kind of stuff looks easy but you need a lot of effort to do it.
