DIY Homemade Aloe Vera Soother For Those Really Bad Sunburns!!

I'm sure we all love the nice weather, especially in the summer time! But what we don't like is getting that awful sunburn from not wearing enough sunscreen or forgetting to put it on. I am guilty of this and end up in LOTS and LOTS of pain. Sometimes that aloe vera stuff they sell in the store is too expensive. I have a recipe of an all natural, no chemical sunburn soother!

What you will need:
1. 2 tablespoons of avocado oil
2. 2 tablespoons of coconut oil
3. 1 large tablespoon of beeswax
4. 1/4 cup of aloe vera gel
5. 2 tablespoons of witch hazel extract
6. 10 drops of soothing essential oil (peppermint is recommenced)

What you need to do:
1. Melt avocado oil, coconut oil, and beeswax in a double boiler until all is melted. Transfer the melted mixture to a bowl and let cool for 20 minutes.
2. Combine witch hazel, essential oil, and the aloe Vera gel in a separate bowl.
3. When the oil mixture is a little warmer than room temperature, start whisking it. While whisking, pour the aloe mixture in SLOWLY until it is all combined. Continue whisking it until it gets to be like a lotion texture.
4. Transfer the lotion into an air tight container and store in a cool dry place. The fridge is a great place for it, the extra coldness with give more relief!

Apply to your sunburn and let it soothe you! LOL

Oh lovely. I actually just mentioned Aloe in your previous post about making homemade lotion and I hadn't seen this post yet!

We have a burn pharmacy sitting right outside our front door. I can confirm that Aloe Vera is absolutely the best thing you can put on a burn.

I have burnt myself a few times and I just open the door and cut some Aloe Vera and squeeze it onto my burn. It works well for a sunburn too and also for any skin irritations too.

Another cool use for Aloe is that it tastes awful! You know those nailpolishes they sell that tastes shocking and is supposed to help you stop biting your nails? Once again Aloe!

I was attracted to aloe vera among the various ingredient that you have recommended. I am an aloe vera fan too In fact I was a distributor for aloe vera based products marketed by an American Company,.
The products were expensive but quite effective. They have products for internal consumption as well as for external application.
We have planted aloe vera in our garden and those leaves come in quite handy.

I really love this piece of information because sunburns are one of the major things we experience here in Nigeria. We have a terrible weather conditions and the sun here is not friendly at. It's as if it has an evil agenda against us all here.

So therefore, this post is definitely going to come in handy with how to handle this menace of sunburns. It has practically ruined most of the people I saw it affects on their skin, and the site of it on one's body is not a good site to behold.

I have been using aloe vera for a long time. I grow aloe vera in my backyard and when I want to use aloe vera, I pluck the aloe vera leaf, peel the outer skin and get the gel. Aloe vera can be taken internally as well as externally. Aloe vera is very effective against constipation, burns, cuts, and wounds. Aloe vera is also a natural mosquito repellent. Aloe vera has anti-inflammatory property. It is also very effective against sun burn.

Aloe vera is a medicinal plant, it has been in use in my family for many generations and we have grown this plant in the backyard since generations. Generally speaking, we don't make juice or drinks from Aloe vera, but we use it as needed, for instance, if we have constipation, we take Aloe vera, if we have sunburn, we apply Aloe vera, if we have cuts and burns, we use Aloe vera.

I remember the time when we go to the beach. I didn't follow my mother to put some sunblock to avoid sunburn. And of course after we swim in that beach, I've got sunburn and we don't have available lotion for sunburn that time. The pain ia really there. So I will give five thumbs up to homemade aloe vera. I don't need to buy to the store different lotions everytime we go to the beach. I just need now to make it and it is pretty convinient.

Too bad I can't get all this ingredients since I have never come across some of the ingredients mentioned. But I like that it is possible to make a soothing lotion for sunburn just at home.

I intend to get a sunscreen. Because although I have melanin, I still get affected.
