Craigslist/Yard Sale findings....what to do with them?

So one of the things that my husband and I like to do is search on Craigslist for free things people are giving away or go around town and grab up all the free stuff people lay out! Sometimes the stuff needs some work or just a little wipe down and then we see if we can flip it to make a few extra bucks.

We actually grabbed a bike the other day which was left out for free and it was in pretty decent shape besides the back end being wobbly. LOL We got it home and later on that day my husband and I parted it out. We took the brake levers off, the handlebar grips, the pegs, and the tires and I was able to put them onto the app Mercari, that I sell on!
My husband picked up a car seat that was laying out for free last week and i was able to clean it up and sell it for $10!!

We have actually gone around to yard sales when the weather was nice and we would find some pretty nice things and were able to resell them and make a few bucks. We went to a yard sale one time and my husband picked up an old Coleman lantern for, I think it was like 5 or 10 bucks and we cleaned it up, wiped it down and took pictures of it and posted it on ebay. We ended up making $40 off of the lantern!!!!

When your in a pinch or tight on cash, i think this is super easy and cool way to try to make some extra cash.....hey it has worked for us and is working for us!!

What do you guys think about this way of making some extra money? Thanks in advance for reading!

I think people underestimate the value of being able to do this. I know people who make over $500 dollars weekly picking stuff up for free or cheap and reselling it. Sometimes people will relist it back on Craiglist in a different town for more money and it works! People think we are crazy for picking up trash and cleaning it up but i have no shame in my game lol. That bike was a good find and if we would have had a pick up truck we would have grabbed the other one and the one in Gorham that we found. Bike parts sell man and they are easy to ship. I think in the future we should make sure we have enough space in the car to fit more stuff. Im always checking craigslist for free stuff here in NH. Today they have a ton of stuff that they are giving away.

I love finding things on craigslist and hunting though yard sales for bargains. I think that this can definitely become a viable business when you are able to fix something up and then re-sell it; but even when you are only hunting for something that you need or want, it is still a great way to find something.
This is also a good way to re-home an item that you no longer need, and just want it gone. Last summer, we found a backyard swimming pool on clearance at Walmart and bought it for about half price. We already had a smaller pool that was about two years old, but still had a lot of good use left in it. I listed it on Craigslist in the free catagory, and specified that the taker would have to disassemble the pool and take it home themself, and be able to pick it up right away, if they wanted the pool.
Naturally, I was over-run with people asking about it, but one family jumped right in their car, came over and happily loaded up the old pool and took it home for their children. It made me happy to see the old pool find a good home.

I wish there was this yard sale in my country or free stuff lying everywhere waiting for just a pickup. No shame at all, will gladly pick them up for a resell.I have been seeing this craigslist site online but have not really logged in even for once to see what it's all about.I think I will check it out right away.

Your so lucky you live in a Country that puts things up on craigslist for free. This would never happen in my Country. Everyone is always trying to make a buck, so no one will throw out their stuff. Interestingly this looks like an amazing way to make money especially if you have a good eye. The saying goes one man's junk is another man's treasure and this is so true. I love backyard sales, especially for books.

Hi there, I also like to look for interesting things in sales and buy them. I think there are a lot of useful and qualitative things that are sold at half-price but many people think that it's something wrong with that thing but it isn't. This way I bought a perfect super bright leds for my bike which has four modes and it illuminates the entire road when I'm riding on it. It helps me a lot. I can ride a bike even when it's raining because leds are waterproof and indestructible. I always had some incidents on a road because of bad vision and I was looking so long for led for a bike until I found one at a convenient price here https://www.amazon.com/Vont-Rechargeable-Illumination-Resistant-Accessories/dp/B078TB9TMK.
