Would you go back to just having three lives in a game?

Do you remember when you used to play a game and all you had was three lives and there were no respawns and once you had lost all your lives you had to start the whole game again? I remember this. I remember playing games such as Mario, Sonic and even Alex The Kidd and having only three live (sometimes more if I had collected some through the playthrough) and if I lost all those lives.... back to the beginning I went.

I feel those kind of games were a lot more chellenging back then. You had to take your time and be careful if you wanted to fully complete a section of the game because if you lost all your lives, you had to start again.

I would love to be able to go back to having just three lives, being able to go back and have that challenge to stay alive or have to start again I feel makes things a lot more interesting.

If you could go back to having just three lives in a game would you?

I personally think it depends on the game. In some games, there is no difficulty level and it makes it hard for gamers to complete the story arcs. In fact, you can try more than 10 times and still get stuck at a certain level. Therefore, having the choice to pick difficulty levels would be great to show the mastery of the game.

I don't really like having limited lives in a game although it makes the game more challenging - yet making you pissed at the same time lol. I mean it's a good way to train your reflexes and all but the purpose of a game is to have fun right? Then why limit yourself? Of course we can always stop playing if we don't want to but what if we really want to. Sounds weird but that's how I feel.

I guess having limited lives is fine if the game is not too difficult. This is why we should always have the choice to choose difficulty setting prior to starting a game. One thing which games can improve on is to reward skilled players on the way they progress in a certain game with little damage taken or even speed of progress in the game.

A lot of these modern games have actual stories now which is why they decided to get rid of the lives. Add to that the fact that most of the time, games are played by a large variety of people and there is a massive gap between the youngest players and oldest players. Because of that, they just removed the three lives aspect to ensure that everyone has a good time when they play the games. I like it like this, to be honest. If people want to have some sort of a challenge then they could always just change the difficulty of the game from normal to hard.

Yes of course, because it is much more challenging and you can brag about it if you finish it with all your lives left still full. Most of the games now have unlimited life but its boring unlike when you only have 3 lives, you will be extra careful while playing.

Yeah of course, I like to be challenge and be entertain at the same time. 3 lives can be much enjoyable to play because there is a risk why playing so really you will think a lot before doing a thing which can be helpful in real life since you really need to have a plan before doing something because it can cost a lot when you are doing things rapidly and don't mind things which can might happen in the process. Having 3 lives in the game can teach us some various life and business lessons that we need. Hahaha what a connection. Thanks and God bless everyone.

Three lives in a game is usually found in arcade games. It is a style of game that encourage player to value the life of their characters for them to be careful in every level of the game.

Good point actually. When you have a very limited amount of lives, that's make the game more challenging, you will think twice before making any move, and you will try on and on until you get your goal. Well, at least that used to happen to me when I was a kiddo and only have 3 lives while playing.

Yes! I believe that is one of the reasons why I have developed my perseverance in doing something. Three lives in a game and you're really careful and strategic. Three lives means Mario games back in the old days. Afterwards, when you spent all the lives, either you strive from the beginning or just give it a rest.

Yes! Definitely! Just like the old times when I was a kid. Those kind of game was more challenging to play and would require focus, concentration and strategy to be able to survive the levels. I remember playing a game where you need to insert coin to play, and if you are a good player to survive levels, you will only spend 1 coin till last level. I missed those time. Would you go back to just having three lives in a game?

Well for yes because if its the only way to pass the level in your game then yes. In fact if youll go back you will have more time to think for your strategy in order for your character to not to die.

While I like today's game I definitely loved retro and vintage gaming. Back then technology wouldn't allow for better graphics and gameplay so the content of the games was nicely done. I miss those days but that's not to say that there aren't quality games being made nowadays

I think having limited lives is actually better. In fact most games that I played during my childhood had limited lives. This actually make the game more challenging. Each time you fail you will actually learn from your mistake and try to rectify it so as to win the game. Gaming can help in improving your analytical skills. I believe that the harder the game is the better it is.

I suppose I wouldn't go back to every game having only three lives available but yes I wouldn't mind playing a handful of games like that. The old feeling of nostalgia hits me right in the head. But of course, the game must be good and have a good plot also

Ye why not, sometimes knowing that you have a spare life can make you play without worries and in some cases, you may even play better than before. I do play CSGO, Minecraft, GTA, San Andreas etc.

I can still recall those games I used to play during my childhood. It was very frustrating to lose as I had to start the game all over again. I prefer games where I have unlimited lives as I can enjoy the game and not stress myself while playing. Moreover, sometimes it takes a very long time to complete a chapter in a game and if I have limited life and I lose then I will have to start the game all over again. That's discouraging.

Oh man, I think it depends on the game, but the idea is pretty interesting. I think also that there should some games like Grand Theft Auto that should have such things like this (approximatively), the rest should be arcade games. If I will play very hard games and I would have only three lives, I would leave gaming forever because my nerves could kill me. Also, I should implement something like this on my Minecraft server, that should be great. I just need to fix something with hosting from https://fortunelords.com/best-minecraft-server-hosting/ and I think I will do it after.

Honestly, I like the new gameplay more. It gets kind of annoying when you play a lot, earn a lot of game coins, and then die and lose everything. I am sure a lot of people will also relate to this. I think that the gaming industry is evolving in a better way and that we don't have to get on its path. By the way, if we already speak about games. I was wondering what opinion do you have about the https://skincashier.com/ platform. A vlogger was recommending it. And I was thinking of also trying to sell skins, but I want to hear your thoughts before. I will appreciate any help you can provide.
