Is your family into art?

My brother was an illustrator and my dad always painted (oils and acrylics), but I never got into drawing until I was well into my teens. And, though most of my time was spent writing, occasionally I would illustrate something. Just before my daughter was born, I got back into art by doing charcoal and pastel type paintings and even sold some of my work. It was really fun.

My Great Great Grandmother painted oil paintings for YEARS, then her son (my Great Uncle, who always wanted me to write), walked in her footsteps and painted oil paintings right up until he died. My grandmother tried painting, and she didn't do too bad, but her sight is too poor now to grow her practice.

We are not into arts. I met a person today who is good in mural painting. I have seen his work from the side of the wall of a house.

Most of my family are singers which is a beautiful art form of it's own and I dabble in various mediums including painting and crafts. I am not professionally selling any of these things now but might if a friend suggested it. I would not know what to charge for such a creation or how to go about selling it though.

Yes my family is into art, my grandfather happened to be a sculptor. He tried to impact the skill onto my father but he wasn't just cut out for it. During holidays, both my kid brother and myself tend to spend quality time with our grandfather while he does his work and from such visit and time spending we both picked up quite a few knowledge about his work.

Although I wasn't that concentrated in it like my junior brother was. He learnt quite a great deal from our grandfather that he is capable of pulling off a a new project without needing anyone's assistance unlike me.

During festive periods, he takes up the task to make gifts for our family members and it's very crafty what his creativity can bring into creation. I just wish that I paid more attention when our grandfather was alive. He wasn't able to pass the torch directly to his son, our father but has successfully done so with his grandson.

Nobody in my family has anything to do with art to be honest and I am not the best at it but I do some things that require some artistic sense. I think artistic sense and some technical things can be learned, you don't have to have the talent in your family.

I must say that the work of art is something I miss so much at this stage of my life. I mean it has been a great experience I had while growing up in which I always do paintings and drawing during break hours at the school while I was still in the primary. I never knew that I won't be into art today.

I guess no, I think I'm the only one who loves art in my family. But I did noticed that my mom can draw well and better than me but she just do it whenever my sister has a project, so literally I can say that she's not into art.
