My favorite sport to play is basketball. Mostly because you can play it in the winter or the Summer. In the Summer you can play at your local park or basketball court. In the winter, find a local gym or 'Y' to play at. Other sports such as football, soccer or softball can only be played in the Spring or Summer months because they are 100% outside games.

I love basketball but my height wouldn't afford me any chance of playing it because there are some sports that requires good height before you would be able to take part in it. I'm 5 feet 11" inches tall which is not good enough in my opinion to pursue professional basketball career, so I just resorted to following the sports as fan.

That's not true actually. The NBA has had two point guards under 6 feet tall make quite a name for themselves over the last 20 years or so. Mugsy Bogues and Isaiah Thomas.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

sonnyisabeast
Sorry, but I have to just say this. Mugsy and Isaiah are both great players, but I have to add Spud Webb. He is the smallest player to ever win the Slam Dunk Contest. I think he's 5'6" or 5'7". Ans speaking of Slam Dunk champions, another small NBA player is Nate Robinson, I think he won this two or three times, he's just an inch or two taller than Spud Webb.

Basketball is very popular in our country and courts are very ubiquitous, so I grew up playing basketball a lot with my cousins and friends. I only got to play other sports at school, and even then, only few people wanted to try the other sports.

Basketball is fun to play but people of my age don't really play, nor are their courts around here so unfortunatley that kind of lets out playing. I used to enjoy it when I was younger. If there was a senior league around I would play perhaps.

Mine, as well. This sports is not just for fun or anything related to sports , it's also a good way to lose some of your fats and probably to gain some muscles on it. I'm usually the type of guy that is a fond of any sports that is actually all about being physical, like it makes you focus more on the game and gets your inner competitiveness comes out.

I can play many sports like tennis, badminton, table tennis, badminton, frisbee, softball, baseball, billiards, and many more but I love basketball the most. In the Philippines, I can say that this sport is the most popular. There are literally courts per barangay. Every barangay has at least a basketball court in there community. As a Filipino, we all love to compete and enjoy. Basketball gave that to us.

Nice. You're literally a sport lover or an athletic kind of person. You know how to play all these sports you mention above? That's fantastic, I only play badminton but not that often. I also play billiards before. But I admit I am a weak, I mean my body can't take it. I envy those girls who are good in playing volleyball. I want to learn playing it as well, the only problem is I am not that athletic and so my body can't make it.

That's very right. Basketball is very flexible. You can play it outdoor or indoor. Beside that, the game is just pretty cool. Especially, when the game is on the line. It is fun to watch a very close basketball game.

Same dude, even though I am nearsighted, I still love playing basketball, it feels good shooting the ball to the basket and winning. Winning is the best part of it like after the struggles the elbows the physicality of the game doesn't matter as long as you win it really pays off.

From young ages my favorite games were only the gambling one. I was playing with my classmates cards, etc. I don't consider it as a good hobby or occupation but I liked only that one. From my 15-16 ages I've started playing clubvip777.com on my father's account. And I don't regret because now I'm already 20 and I have on my bill 35000$. I think it's not bad for a student to has this cash. I'm planning soon to buy a new car and some presents for parents.

I found this thread by accident, but so I wanted to remember my childhood that I had to tear the child away from the gadgets and go for a walk. Recently, my husband gave him a tablet, at the age of 7 it is normal to have such a thing, but in my childhood I did not have this and it is almost impossible to spend time with a child, he is constantly busy with gadgets. As a result, instead of showing him a Christmas tree and what an active sport is, he hooked me on https://brazino777.com/pt/ and we sat down together in our gadgets, although there are role-playing games where you can play against each other and this is so cool, we've never done anything like cooking instead. It's good that sometimes in bad weather it replaces games in the courtyard with games on gadgets.

While my friends were doing sports, I was earning money. Since early childhood, I have helped my father, and I think I made the right choice. Sport is good. I have a lot of respect f?r people who play sports. But I respect hardworking people even more. Regarding sports, I like bowling. And if professional bowling brought me as much money as I would like, then maybe I would be an athlete. And if you earn so much in bowling, I don't consider this tweed sport. Now all the money is spinning on the Internet, so you need to play games in which you can learn how to make money.

Swimming has always been my favorite activity. I live near to a beach but unfortunately, I can't go swimming every day due to my ever-increasing responsibilities. However, since I don't work during weekends I try to go for a swim in the morning. Swimming is an all body exercise and if practiced regularly can help to keep us in good health. Moreover, swimming can help those suffering from depression and other mental ailments. Therefore, swimming is a wonderful sport which contributes to our physical and mental well being.

In my original comment here, I talked about how I was never really a sports person and the closest I came to enjoying a sport was when I played volleyball and badminton in High School. However, I never really took swimming into consideration! I was just thinking about competitive sports. Now I have to say that swimming is definitely a sport that I enjoy as well. It's one of the few activities for me that are actually enjoyable and still provide a great workout. Unfortunately, I'm sad to say that because of where I live, I can only swim in the Summer when the outdoor pools are open. My small town doesn't have any indoor pools…yet.

I used to love going to thewater and swimming when I was a kid, but then I almost drowned when I was 7 years old so I kind of avoided swimming for a while. Specially during summer in our country, when some of my friends enjoying the under water views, and I'm just here, near the shoreline, playing with sands. What sport or game do you love playing most? My favourite sport to watch and play would have to be football (that is soccer to you Americans out there). I just have loved football from a young age and I actually tend to not miss many of the games that my favourite time (Chelsea FC) play. I had actually never missed any of their games for years until this month when I had to move so I missed quite a few of their games since I didn't have internet at the new place

Football is one of the two sports I love watching, the other one being tennis. Ironically, even though I play a lot of sports, tennis and football are only two of the few sports I haven't even tried. I mean I've played football just passing or penalty shooting, but I still haven't played an actual match.

Football is also my favorite sport. I don't play football these days, however, when I was in school I enjoyed playing football. I wanted to play forward, however, my teammates always made me defender or goalkeeper. When I was young, I went to the stadium to watch football, however,l these days I watch on TV. I am waiting forward to watch the World Cup. LIke always I will be cheering for Argentina.

I'm looking forward to the World Cup this year as well especially because of how boring the Summer period is since the Premier League is over then and there is no other football for us to watch. I don't really have a favorite sport or a game, but recently me and my friends have been playing 8 ball pool, which is really fun and can be quite competitive. There is the occasional banter between us, but it's all fun and in the end our relationship is stable, well sometimes not quite as much, but that's normal when you are playing against someone .

When I was still in college, pingpong is my favorite game. Playing this game improves hand-eye coordination. It is the fastest indoor ball game. Not only it is a fun game but it is also a great way of burning calories.

I remember playing a lot of ping pong in high school, we had this crooked table that we would play on and it would always favor one side in a weird way, but no one knew who and how. It's definitely a great game that can help you build your reflexes, it trains your body and mind too, which is equally important.

It's crazy to see some of the professional ping pong players take part in games because of how they actually play the game. I could never imagine even having the skill to play at such a fast pace. It is definitely a great and very fun game. I actually played it for a bit in school, but at a much slower pace lol.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Same with you, I am now a college student and I enjoy playing ping pong. I find it exciting, fun, and hard to play compared with badminton. It is hard to estimate the strength to be used in order for the ball to hit the table first. But then again, it really do improve hand eye coordination.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

With proper training and daily practice, you can be a good ping-pong player. I learned to play ping-pong when I was still in college because I've met a group of people who are really ping-pong players. They used to compete in tournaments. Some of them are a varsity player and they are able to support their college tuitions by playing ping-pong. With consistent practice, you will be able to know how to control the ball, the speed, and you will develop your own techniques.

Hahaha thank you for the advice. Definitely will do it! Well, I'm not planning to be a varsity player but rather just want to play ping pong well and continue enjoying this sport. This isn't a very manly thing to admit--at least not by the typical Western standard of what manliness is--but I have never been much of a sports person.

It's safe to say that I was kind of a nerd growing up. When we had lunch breaks in school, I'd be sitting inside playing video games while the other kids played football or basketball outside. I just never had much of an interest in sports.

The closest I came to enjoying a sport was when I played High School volleyball, and later on badminton. I was good at volleyball because I'm quite tall and strong (for a nerd) so I was a excellent at spiking. As for badminton, it's just a relaxing game to play outside. It isn't too strenuous, provides a decent workout, and is more about concentration than physical ability.

I love playing cricket. And another thing is that I love playing the console games or the arcade games in the mall. So it depends on the type of the entertainment it offers. I personally do well with the cricket most of the time. I think these days reduced on the outdoor sports. And now doing mostly the indoor and video games mostly.

Wow, cricket? I have never played it before but I've seen videos on the internet many times. It looks really fun. However, I am wondering how expensive is it to learn from scratch and get all the required equipment?

I have never played Cricket, however, I enjoy watching cricket. I enjoy test, one day as well as T20. My home country has never qualified for major cricket tournaments, however, our boys are improving day by day. recently, they played so well that they are now qualified to play One day International.
Cricket is a good game.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

I think T20 is definitely worth watching if you are into quick sport. It's good for quick entertainment and watching the batting. For bowling however one day and test is lot better. I guess depending on how people choose the format. The taste may differ for people.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

vinaya
T20 has been designed for the people who do not have time to watch the longer version of the game. I like T20 however, I like one day more. One day gives enough time for the players to showcase their skills on the pitch. Tests are also good, however, most of us do not have time to watch the same game for 5 consecutive days.
By the way do you enjoy IPL T20?

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

overcast
Yes spinners and the bowlers are worth watching for longer format. So ODI is definitely doing better in that case. I heard recently that Nepal is also actively getting into the cricket. So that sounds like a good thing for the nepal to perform.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

vinaya
Cricket in Nepal is improving. There are government funded cricket academies. The government is also building an international cricket ground. Nepal has recently been promoted to play ODIs. Since many years, Nepal is trying to qualify for T20 world cup and they have never been through qualifying rounds. This year too Nepal lost to Afghanistan in the qualifying round.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Cricket for men is a good sport and must be developed. Compared to football it offers more skills and exposure for the men. So in terms of diversity this game is lot better. I hope nepal gets to secure it's place in WC qualifiers in future.

Before, when it comes to sports I like playing badminton and volleyball because it's easy to find and buy this things but when I tried bowling, it seems that I like it more than volleyball. Another fan of badminton! There are literally dozens of us! Dozens!

Seriously though, I loved playing badminton ever since I was a kid, so I was super excited when my high school P.E teacher announced that we'd be playing it one year. I never expected it, but it was a welcome surprise. Another surprise was that a lot of my peers actually enjoyed it as well. I thought they'd think I was a nerd for liking such an obscure sport, but I was happy to find they found it to be a lot of fun as well.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

As soon as they discover playing it then they will not know how much they will enjoy playing that sport. There's no reason for not liking the badminton. I really enjoy playing badminton even if i'm not a good player. I started to like badminton when my aunt enrolled me in badminton class so the coach taught me how to serve, how to hit it in a proper way and proper posture. I remember I had to run side by side as the coach hit the shuttlecock opposite to where I was standing and he then hits it very fast far from my place so I have to run quickly but it was enjoy and I have learned a lot from that coach. I think most of us likes badminton and yes! dozens of us.

My favorite sport is Volleyball. I'm not actually that good when it comes to playing this sport but I really like it because it's very fun and interactive. I am actually an introvert person before and my lack of interest to people made me a little bit of an outcast and so I was very weak to the point that I can't play any sport during high school. However when I discovered Volleyball it really challenged me to become a strong person with a good attitude and interest towards other people because it's a sport that needs teamwork. I also love it because through it I gained some muscles and became stronger unlike before when I was still in high school and I made some new friends out of it.

I play a lot of sports and games and the game I like most is Chess. I started playing it at the age of six and competed through out my grade school, high school and college days. I was quite good playing chess then, winning a lot of trophies in interschool competitions. A dream of mine was to be an international master but sadly after college I needed to concentrate in work to make a living and my dream got sideswiped. I enjoy both swimming and chess. My body reacts negatively to sweat and losing fluids so I can't go into sports that require a lot of sweating. I do zumba once a week but in an airconditioned place. Swimming is just perfect for me because it's not only a great all-around exercise but it also cools my body. I've been playing chess since i was five and by sixth grade, I've won over the boys in my class. Sports and games weren't the top items in my agenda, though, and I've never joined tournaments or competitions in swimming or chess. Personally, I really like the UFC and WWE because it is a very active and energetic sport in which two or more people fight. The truth is, personally, I cannot participate in it because I am not a very good fighter, and I don’t really want to fight myself. Watching and participating are two different things and I personally prefer to watch more. I even sometimes place bets on who will win through services such as https://www.vslots88.com, in my opinion you can earn a lot on bets, but you can also lose a lot, so I do not advise anyone to bet money. In general, in my opinion, bets are quite a gambling thing that an inexperienced player shouldn't get involved in.

I really love playing badminton since then. It is an easy sport but I prefer this one for I really find playing it exciting and fun. It also promotes physical fitness and I think it reduces my stress once I play it. But aside from playing badminton, just recently, I'm enjoying also table tennis. Because in our campus, we have there an student lounge and area to play table tennis. It is more difficult than badminton because, you have to see to it that the ping pong ball will struck on the table which is really hard to estimate. Anyways, these are the two sports which I really enjoy playing.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Yeah, badminton and table tennis are pretty different sports, but they both require great footwork to improve and be competitive in the sport, which is also part of the fun of playing them. they also require proper positioning of shots and not just pure power.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Yup exactly! They both required footwork and proper positioning of shots in order to play it effectively. Anyway, almost all sports really do require proper coordination of our body and mind to make strategies in order to play it fun and effectively. And yup I agree with you that badminton and table tennis are not all about just pure power.

That's what I love about these sports. In addition, the dynamics of playing doubles in either sport takes it to a different level compared to other team sports, especially in table tennis where you have to alternate hitting the ball with your partner, which makes the strategies and innovations of certain teams really great to learn and watch.

I've competed in Karate tournaments, and was on a winning streak then I got hit at the back by a nasty jumping roundhouse kick and my spinal cord was damaged, i was supposed to be paralyzed but my shihan snapped it back into place by stretching my arms, neck and legs they stretched me horizontally above ground by pulling with full force until my spine snapped back into place. it took 2 years to heal and that ended my career as a karateka and I lost interest in anything that involves kicking and punching.

Growing up, I played baseball and football. I also ran track for a while in high school. However, as the years went on, I got away from sports and had to work a lot to pay my way through college. At first, I did not have a car, so I rode my bike EVERYWHERE--to work, class, home, etc. I was in good shape, by accident, because of that. Because of this necessity of transportation, I actually fell in love with the sport of biking, and I bike regularly--I am mainly a street biker, and I travel a lot on back roads and old highways that are not too busy. I love coasting along and seeing the scenery and feeling the wind and fresh air on my face.

I like playing Pool, it's a quiet and thinking game and it's all about precision and steady hands. I learned it as a kid, there used to be a pool hall near my parents house and I and my friends used to frequent the place at night when good players come and challenge each other with bets.

I love playing board games and I'm really good at Checkers, I've been playing it since before I've learned chess. Unlike chess, playing checkers is a lot simpler, it's also a strategy game where you capitalize on your opponents mistakes by capturing his pieces, there's a lot of fun in it and it's a good simple game that even young people could learn it and play in minutes.

Kakashi2020,
Do you enjoy playing chess as well? I am not that great at it, but I have enjoyed playing it ever since I was just a little kid. I think that my uncle taught me how to play it to teach me strategy and to just improve my mind and critical thinking skills in general. I am very competitive, but I can admit when I am not the best at things, and I am not the best at chess, but I love playing it for the challenge. I love Checkers too, just like you. I love when my soldier gets "kinged" and can travel about the board wreaking havoc in almost every direction!

Hi joemilford, Chess and Checkers are my top favorites when it comes to boardgames. I like 2 player strategy games and Chess teaches me a great deal about defense / offense and strategy. It's an entertaining past time too. People say it's boring but for me and many other chess players a chess board is our ring and the chess pieces is our army.

I love playing badminton. I enjoy the feeling of the shuttlecock flying in the air. I can change the direction of it with little effort and beat my opponents. I play about 2 or 3 times every week. It makes me feel more energetic everyday and it improves my health. Playing badminton is not as intense as other sports such as basketball and soccer. It lessens the possibility of being hurt.

When I was in my teens up to my 20's I used to compete in stick fighting tournaments, posted a lot of wins then and became a licensed instructor in Arnis or Stick fighting.

Stick Fighting is played by using two rattan sticks which was hardened by fire. The rules are simple the person who got hit the most loses. In olden times it was played without protective gear and most fighters are often injured in matches since they weren't using rattan sticks then but the heavy Kamagong a kind of hardwood that is very hard to break. Modern competition nowadays uses head gears and body armor to cushion the blows and to protect the players from getting seriously injured.

There's a lot of styles in Arnis there's Avance, Retirada, Abanico, Dose Pares, Veinte Quatro, Sungkiti Tutsada, Siete-katorse-veinte uno, and a lot more. Players need to learn several styles to become more effective fighters.

In Arnis there are 7 kinds of techniques:
1. Strikes
2. Blocks
3. Parries
4. Disarms
5. Locks
6. Throws
7. Thrusts

I love to play basketball and chess, but my lifetime hobby is doing Taichi everyday. I am practicing Taichi for almost ten years this art is suited for everyone, young and old, male and female and even if you are not physically fit person as long as you can move or walk you can join or practice. The Taichi form can be used on basic self defense but it is not the main purpose because of advance technology in weaponry. Hand to hand fighting is very rare in our generation today because most people using guns and other high tech weapons so Taichi is the ideal for everyone because of its healing benefit and it will give you total relaxation, boost your energy, good circulation of blood and chi, mental alertness and to keep you away from minor illness like colds, headache or fever.
