Well, it depends. Are you trying to make it as professional as possible with all the neat, fancy intros/outros? Or are you looking to do more simple edits such as cutting, adding?

My personal choice when it comes to editing any sort of videos not just for YouTube is always a combination of Adobe Premiere Elements and Adobe After Effects. If you combine those two softwares you can create anything you want. Premiere Elements is amazing for video editing aspect and After Effects is superb for making intros/outros and all sort of effects inside your video.

I have not produced videos for youtube as I am not into youtube marketing. However, I have created a lot of videos for hubpages articles. These videos were published on hubpages until hubpages disabled videos. I used windows movie maker to create my videos. Well windows movie maker is not the ideal program, however, if you are just starting out it will save you money and time. Saves money because it is free and saves time because you do not have to spend many hours learning how to use a program,

I also started making videos just by using WIndows Movie Maker, its a very basic app which i think suits beginners. One thing though, WMM capabilities are very limited. The functions and output files if i remember it right is applicable only to a few options. But nevertheless, WMM is a great starter.

I remember the time when there was video side of hubpages. I wonder why they closed it. As it was one of the good ways for them to make revenue. I assure they failed to get advertisers. And that got them into the debt. So that may be one reason this happened. But hoping that in future you find some other sites for posting videos.

When hubpages allowed original videos. I published over 50 videos with my articles. My hubs were designated hub of the day just because of they had videos. However, the visitors of hubs were not watching the video. People read the hubs, even left comments, however, the videos were not watched. This might be one of the reasons why hubpages closed video feature.

I think considering the growth of youtube. I am sure hubpages can make more money off videos. But they quit eventually. So that's something that needs to be checked for others. I have learned that video is new future from here onwards.

I am not active on hubpages. In fact, I left publishing on hubpages since 2015 (after I launched my own blogs), however, I earn residual income from my hubpages articles. Every month I receive money from my hubpages articles. My hubpages videos are still with me. When the videos were phased out on hubpages my friends suggested me to upload these videos on youtube, however, I did not upload to youtube because I thought they wee of poor quality.

Looks like you are doing lot better without Hubpages. I heard they are coming up with new good monetization. I wish to join them soon back as well. Because lot of monetization channels are not going good. So more the resources for earning the better.

After I launched my own blogs, I have stopped publishing on hubpages. I even deleted some of my non-performing hubs and moved else where. I think I published more than 300 articles on hubpages, however, currently, I have around 150 articles. Thankfully, I receive payment from hubpages every month, or at least in two months. Soon, I will rreach 1 million views for my hubs.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

150 is not a bad number if you ask me. I am struggling to write better articles these days. At the most I can write is around 500 words article. And hubs need to be min. 1500 words to work. I guess I have to wait and write a bit more over there.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

I am one of the hubpages writers who attended an apprentice program on hubpages. For one year, I received upfront payment for publishing on hubpages. It is unfortunate that this program has been discontinued on hubpages. Since most of my articles still on hubpages were written during the apprentice program, these articles are doing exceptionally well. If I had continued publishing on hubpages, I would have earned more from writing, however, I wanted to have my own blogs and website. Thus, I stopped publishing on hubpages and began to launch my own private blog networks.

They have started new program on hubpages called maven. So that looks like another good to try place. I have to write a lot to be there now. So I am just keeping it low for now. I hope to see more about this soon though.

I suggest Sony Vegas for a beginner. It's user interface is very good for those who have literally no knowledge about editing. You can just search videos on Youtube for tutorials on how to use it and it is simple to study. Personally, I did what I have just said. I just downloaded the Vegas and study on Youtube. Now I can edit better.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Sony vegas isn't the perfect option the reason being the size of video required for youtube goes too high in some cases. Also effects are less with the sony vegas. I'd say in such case you should instead go with the filmora. It's lot better application for the youtube based videos. It works just like simple editing and adding effect, sounds and lower third is really good.

Viva vidoe is one of the best that I know around that can really assist you in getting the best YouTube video that you want. One thing that I always enjoy with it is that you are going to make videos that have got some nice effects which is a plus for your YouTube channel.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

I know the brand but i haven't tried it yet, i was wondering why does some of the videos have captions below with Viva on it. I guess there's free and premium software?

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Some are free and some are premium. One thing is you get to see that the work you are trying to achieve with such videos are a success. I have been making use of the free ones for a while now and it is giving me the needed results as well.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

I think viva video works good for instagram videos. I have not seen most of the youtube video users making use of that. I guess that could be because of the too much filters being used. Also it seems like some editing features being limited. So I guess desktop app is better in that case.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

There are some of the video editing mobile app that can do most of the hard work. But that being said, I'd say that Fimora app on desktop is much better option. Here you can do a lot of things. And you can get to produce some of the really good footage for the youtube. So that being said, there seems to be good option in such case.

My answer is going to depend on what sort of style you're aiming for, how much money you're willing to invest, and what degree of skill you have with editing (or how much you're willing to learn).

If you don't have much skill, no money to invest, but you're okay with having a fairly simplistic video style, you can get away with using something as simple as Windows Movie Maker. That program is where plenty of big YouTubers started out, since it's available for free to everyone with a Windows PC.

If you have a moderate degree of skill, some money to invest in a monthly license, and you want semi-professional quality results, the next step is going to be a program like Adobe Premiere Pro or Sony Vegas. I personally prefer Adobe, as they're a leader in the design and editing industry, and their programs are used by many professional studios.

If you have an advanced knowledge of editing or are willing to put in a lot of time to learn, have the money to invest in a monthly license, and want results that are only limited by your own skill and creativity (and computer hardware), then at the tip-top is Adobe After Effects. After Effects is the program I personally use for all my video editing, and like I said, with that program the only thing stopping you from making Hollywood level quality videos is your own skill and creativity.

I agree with your view on this regard. I do not want to invest in video editing tool because I am not trying to earn from videos, I am not even using video marketing. That's why I continue to use windows movie maker. It is free and easy to use.
Having said that I also have interest in video making (when I was in school, I wanted to study film making), and if I ever take to video making, I might buy After Effects. I am very fascinated about what After Effects can do.

It depends on the content that you're putting out. Simple things not requiring any animations or heavy editing, things like vlogs can actually be edited through some free softwares like iMovie in Mac. Final Cut is still my go-to, with Premiere Pro a close second.

The simplest I could think of is Windows Movie Maker, it is good enough for YouTube vids but if you want the best then you have to pick an Adobe program that fits your project. When it comes to video editing nothing beats Adobe in quality and precision.

"When it comes to video editing nothing beats Adobe in quality and precision."

I'm such a fanboy of Adobe products that I feel like praising anyone that shares this opinion. The fact is that they really are the best though. I've been using Adobe products for 11 years now and I honestly can't see myself ever switching to anything else. Windows Movie Maker isn't a bad recommendation though. A lot of people aren't ready to jump into the complicated, user unfriendly interface that is Adobe After Effects or Premiere Pro, so it isn't a bad idea to start off in WMM just to get a feel for the editing process.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

vinaya
For those who want to get started with video making, WMM is a great program. It works best when you do short videos. If your videos are long, you will encounter problems during the editing process. WMM is great, you can do almost anything, from trimming the video, eliminating the scenes, removing background sound, adding background sound, adding credits, music etc.
Once you begin to pick momentum with video editing, you can try the premium program like Adobe premier.

It honestly depends on how much you are skilled in editing YouTube videos and how long is the content you are trying to create.I like to pair Sony Vegas along with Adobe After Effects. Those are one of the best programs in my opinion as they are easy to use and have a lot of tools that you can use and make your video really good, that is if you are good at editing,Most people recommend these programs, you should definitely try them out.

I don't have much skill in YouTube usage for any online activities but I know a few tricks on how to make good use of it. I have actually heard about Sony Vegas and how good it is when it comes to video editing but I haven't had the pleasure of experiencing using it at all. It's been only Adobe After Effects or Windows movies maker for me and they both serve me well.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Windows Movie Maker is usually for beginners in my opinion ho wish to try out to edit and post for YouTube as a beginner. It is best for you to find other video software if you haven't tried Sony Vegas.Trust me,you will enjoy using Sony Vegas more than any other video editing software!

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

vinaya
Windows MOvie Maker is for beginners. If you are just starting out on youtube and not yet earning, it might cost you financially if you buy a premium program. Since WMM is free, it is good for those who are not earning yet. In order to be eligible for earning, you need 1000 subscribers and 4000 hours views. Once you reach that milestone and is accepted in the monetization program, you can try any premium video editing program.

If I may ask, what is it about Sony Vegas that you prefer? I tried Sony Vegas a while ago, and for some reason it just didn't work well with me.

I'm a huge fan of Adobe After Effects though, as my editing style is fairly complicated and the tools which AFX offers are second to none. Usually once the complicated graphics and animations are done, I export into Adobe Premiere Pro, as I find it to be more intuitive than Sony Vegas. I guess you could say I'm just an Adobe fanboy.

I prefer Sony Vegas more from other programs because it has a lot of tools and options for you to choose from to edit your video in style. It isn't hard t fully learn to full mechanics and tools to use for that program. It does fast rendering as well but maintains a good quality.

Well, I've never uploaded a YouTube video by myself, and my friends were using a tool that YouTube had for it. Apparently, there's not a chance to use that tool anymore, so I know they use something called Shotcut, they really like it because it has a lot of features, they say it has many filters and effects, and you can use it for free. My neighbor uses another app called ClipChamp, my friends don't know about this one, but my neighbor says that it's great to upload high quality videos, and the only issue is that it has like a limit videos per week or month. Try to check on those, and let me know about how it goes. Hope they can work.

If you have never made or video, I suggest you to try windows movie maker, It is a free tool that can be easily downloaded from microsoft store and installed on your computer. It is also easy to use, you can open your video on windows movie maker and then eliminate scenes, remove background sound, add background score, add credits etc.
You can even create videos from photos on window movie maker.

Thanks for the tip. I know Window Movie Maker, is very easy to use, free when you have Microsoft, and it has a lot of great effects. But on the other hand, I've noticed it tends to freeze a lot, and it doesn't offer audio effects, so you have to use another app to add audio. The good thing about it, is that Microsoft tends to do updates very often, so I hope they can work on these issues, to improve it.

I don't know much about this personally since I don't run a YouTube channel, but one of my friends does - she's got a reasonable amount of subscribers and uses Sony Vegas. I think ultimately these kinds of decisions come down to how professional you need the video to be, and how much financially you want to put into software for it.

I don't use youtube either, however, I take interest in video making. I am yet to invest in premium video creation tool, but I use free program windows movie maker to create videos. You can upload your windows movie maker video on youtube.

Well, depending on the kind of work that you are looking at arriving at with the video editing would be what to determine the kind of video editing software that you would likely be looking at using.

If it's just a casual video work that needs little amendments, then I would recommend windows movie maker. This video editing software would definitely get the job done satisfactorily for you but if it's a professional work, then I would recommend the use of Adobe software.

If you are a professional or you are very skilled in video making, there are a lot of programs that you can try, Many commentators have suggested using sony vegas, Adobe Premier or even After Effects.
However, for a novice or newbie, windows movie maker can come in handy. I use windows movie maker and it is a good program. For 3-5 minutes video, windows movie maker output is good.

They may not be suitable for Youtube the reason being they are more of video and audio sync editors. And not the effect and post production based video options. I have found the post production apps to be lot different in that context.

You can use YouTube video editor and Hitfilmexpress their both available for Mac and PC and are quite easy to use if it's just a simple edit.

For the professional looking kind of edit, my first choice would be Adobe Premiere Elements 11.

Some of the video editing software that most of the Youtubers use are Final Cut Pro, Adobe Premiere Pro CC, and Sony Vegas Pro. Video editing software mostly does the same thing, it just depends on what software will you be more comfortable using. I used Sony Vegas Pro for most of my videos because that's the only thing I have, but they said that Final Cut Pro is also good so I plan using it. Adobe Premiere Pro CC is mostly for professional use and I want to try it also.

Some of youtubers used adobe after effects or adobe premier. Before, I tried to edit videos but it was very basic and I remember that I used windows movie maker as I don't have any idea about those software used by professionals. Basically editing and creating videos is a learning process. Along with the skill is a software that suits your skills. I realize now that a video editing software really relies on the person using it. The creativity of the person so no matter what the software is, it all depends on how a person use it with the available features and functions.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

You might learn better if you attend a training program, however, you will be skilled only by doing yourself. Therefore, if you are new to this whole process, you can start with a free program like Windows Movie Maker. It is not a good idea to invest heavily in something that may not earn you money. Try creating videos on WMM, upload on Youtube and begin to generate views. Once you believe that this is doable, you can buy a premium program.

There's even an advanced mode when more controls are accessible for your needs. No need to learn those complicated advance professional looking video editing softwares. I also tried to work in Adobe After Effects because I thought that Adobe have better products. Yeah, it was really hard to learn, I was using YouTube tutorials for beginners. The features of AF help to make your videos look like it's a professional production. I started with short fan video-compilations of my favorite moments of TV series and now I'm making commercial content for marketing agency. The only problem with AF is that it's not too "user friendly". I wish there was an app that will combine AF professional features and easy design of Movie Maker. I'm thinking about developing of such app and was looking forward working with an outsource company like https://develux.com/custom-software-development one day.

First of all, it depends on the topic of your channel. Based on this information, you can draw conclusions about which software is most important to you. If you have regular video clips on YouTube that require a little editing, then you can follow the same path as many other youtubers. Basically, there are two programs that are Sony Vegas, as well as adobe Premier (if it talks about Windows). There is a huge amount of information about these programs, so I will not describe them. Also, when I created content for YouTube, I used background music. We all know that it is necessary to use music without copyright and this problem can be solved very easily. On YouTube, there are a huge number of tracks without copyright, which you can download using a special converter that will allow you to immediately convert the video to mp3 format. This way you can insert only the audio track, not the whole video, which will save you both the rendering time and the final weight of the video.
