Any suggestion for a cute handmade item to sell?

mark8625

When I heard your captions the first thing came up to my mind is by making a wedding souvenirs. It is very easy to make and very easy to sell online. You can also add wedding invitations for the wedding souvenirs as a bundle service. You can create money from it. Watch the tutorials online like DIY videos so that it could help you give many ideas about this business.

I second the motion. When I read your question, the first thing that came to my mind are wedding souvenirs and wedding invitations. But aside from wedding souvenirs you can also make birthday souvenirs and cards. They are easily learned and lot of tutorials in YouTube as mentioned by @mark8625. I'm currently watching videos about accessory making such as earrings. Maybe you can add this if you like. Best of luck with your crafts.

I think by doing this, you should also need to coordinate with the wedding organizer to expand your business. I had a friend and her business is Photobooth, and she gets more clients by keeps interacts during the events, She gets a lot of clients and called her once there are a wedding and need for her photo booth.

Yeah that is right. You need to coordinate with them like what kind of designs they want you to do. Of course you need to know the time frame of the wedding so that you have enough time to prepare everything and the finish product be on time.

Me too. Its easy to make souvenirs. You can even use old candles and reproduce it and just put some designs too. You can watch it in you tube. You can also use polymer clay for keychains. My classmate creates keychains for her souvenirs out of polymer clay.

I would also suggest that you sell bunny dolls. Also, cute do dolls would be a catch in the market. You can also be creative and look for the cute bird dolls which can also come in the form of key chains.

Keychains are a great idea but it's not exactly the easiest thing to do if you truly want to create some cool designs for the keychains. You could also try to create some great looking bracelets which are extremely popular when people are on holiday or if they want to gift something to their friends/family.

Keychains and bracelet are usually the things person always buy, but I think not online she needs the physical store for this. Travelers usually buy these things as a souvenir from the place they had been. There's a good market for this specially if your store is in the tourist destination place.

I think what you should be doing is making use of the sites like etsy. And find out what sells there. And also take a look at what are some of the things that sell on the zazzle. And that way you can learn what things are demand and what are some of the things that you have to regularly produce. That seems to be one way to deal with the items in demand and what could sell to the potential customers.

Zazzle is one more place to do some research. You can learn from what other people are buying. And that can be a good start for the handmade selling business. Most of the people learn through the experience of sales from other people. And same can be said for selling on zazzle, ebay and etsy.

Thank you for sharing this. I am also looking for sites that tells you what is in the market. Market research should be done first before venturing into the business. I also think it is best to learn from the experience of others. It can be a source of inspiration and a good lesson for everyone.

Yes zazzle seems to be a good place to start the market research. There are lot of small guides on what works and what does not work. I have tried some of the art on that note and it did work if you ask me. I have had some small dollar sales on the zazzle. And they can be a good start during the seasonal events.

I would suggest wallet and coin purse. They could be made out of yarn with different designs to choose from. You could also sell a set bundle of which they could make their own wallet. You can create a wide range of designs and quality so that you will be able to sell more of your creations. You van put some gems, pearls or jewels to make them more attractive and cute.

Wow, this looks really amazing! I love rings or any kinds of accessories and I can say that this one is indeed beautiful. The design looks simple yet pleasingly graceful to the eyes.

As my input, making Mason Jar Light Candle is also a good business. This is made of mason jars and glass stones from the dollar store so basically the materials are inexpensive. However, a lot of patience is needed in making this since it takes long to letting the glue dry. Just be mindful that you can't use a glue gun, as candles melt the glue right off! It is varieties of colors too like blue, green, red, silver, gold, clear glass and so on. Hope this helps!

Pillow covers is one of the hidden niche that has a really good conversion. I have seen some of the really good market for the same. I can tell you that some of the really good items on sale on zazzle are pillow covers. And for some reason it's one of the good item that people get started with in this niche. I wonder considering low profit here what could be the reason.

I did not realize pillow covers sold well on Zazzle. I've been a Zazzle associate for a long time and have never made a sale. I blame myself because I don't aggressively market Zazzle products. Anything made of wood right now is selling like hotcakes. From wooden watches to wooden dolls, wood is trending. I guess people are buying into the save the environment movement going around. I guess small wooden figurines and keychains can be a worthwhile item to sell. Most of the woodworking could be learned through Youtube. Compared to other DIY projects out there, this can be a worthwhile skill to learn as you could venture into product design. Wooden wallets. Wooden phone cases. The possibilities are endless.

You mentioned that you work with yarn, so you could try making tiny plush toys based on popular culture. Maybe you could make cute little handmade yarn dolls based off of things like super heroes or video game characters.

For example, the game Stardew Valley is really popular right now, and I’ve seen several posts online of people who’ve made tiny plush figures of these characters called Junimos. Whenever someone makes such a post, there are always multiple comments under it asking if they’re willing to make more and sell them, because several people would love to buy them.

I think a customized t-shirt. It's a little hard to do and make the same design but this one I know will become your best seller. You don't need the printer, transfer paper, just paint and brush. Better not to do a hard design and just more on letters and numbers only for beginner.

I suggest making accessories like necklaces, bracelets, rings, earrings, or even anklets. You can also include some hair accessories like small and big hair clips, bows, hair comb pins, hair bands, elastic bands, head bands, pearls, hair flowers, hair pins, hats, scarfs, tiara, hair jewelry, hair rings, beanies, hair feathers, ribbon hair ties, hair coils or even wreaths.

These accessories listed above are making such a nice profit in the market nowadays and really in demand especially for the youngsters and women.

These kind of phrases drive sales, people want to feel like they are preserving the environment. I know of someone making handbags from recycled plastic and there business is thriving.

Yes you are right especially girls. They tend to be more girly when it comes to that kind of stuffs. The designs must be trend so that young generations will entice to buy the product you made. Where I live there are people who use tiny plastic beads to make beautiful multi-colored bracelets, belts and even purses. If one can learn the skill (it's not that hard), these handmade products can make you plenty of money as there are many people who buy these products regularly.

However, since many people prefer to make bracelets, beautiful belts or purses made from these tiny beads would be a better choice (because of the competition). But you don't have to sell these items online. Look around your hometown if no such items are being sold then be the first to make and sell them. It could make you a lot of money before others start getting into the business.

Examples of wire crafts

Disclaimer on the link, I just googled it. I think you should definitely try Wire Crafting. Bend wires into simple name rings or a more complicated Sea horse pendant. Add some crystals or stones and you have yourself jewelries. I have tried some of them before and they were really fun to learn. There are also a lot of DIY guides on YouTube. If you are already comfortable with the craft you could get spontaneous and creative. The wires themselves are not much pricey you could practice all you want.

I personally do some home decor stuff, such as cushions, drapes or curtains. But I do it on a sewing machine. Also, I make toys for children and Halloween costumes. I started doing it for myself, but later my friends asked to make something for their houses or children. Later my friends brought their friends. Now, I take payment for some orders, especially, during the Halloween preparation. Everyone wants a costume, and sometimes I have to do it late at night. Now, I am saving up some money to get a good overlocker machine. For those who don’t know, there is a big difference between an overlocker and a regular sewing machine. An overlocker sewing machine allows to do certain things with fabrics way faster.

I used to do crocheted as well before. But as I am not very skilled at it, it took me weeks to finish a single project. So I stopped. But as I have many yarns left, I thought of another projects I could do with them. Then I learned how to make dream catchers! I made use of yarns that I have left and wove them into dream catchers, big and small. It was easy to do and beginners just have to know how to tie in one direction. From that, you could experiment on your whim. I had a great results. I sold a lot.
