Many businesses focus more on customer acquisition which isn't bad. While of course the need to retain customers depends on what you are selling, assuming that those who buy the products or services you sell could buy them again, then customer retention in this case should be prioritized.

Well, there are a lot of ways to retain your customers, make them feel so extra special, and give some good benefits for those regular customers, so that they will not look for another seller because they feel satisfied on what they got.

Customer retention is essential for a continuous consumption and for the sustainability of the business. Nowadays, customer needs and wants are psychologically evolving overtime, it is mainly for this reasons that retaining consumers are quite challenging because aside of the resources you really need to work hard, and the same time gathering some of the important data for an aid to your business decision making initiative. Customer satisfaction is a broad in the sense that a consumer must be satisfied on both goods and the services offered by the seller, product and the service must be continuum.

The customer isn't always right and partially due to the fact that no one is ever "always right." Clients are your bread and butter however that does not imply you need to keep your terrible customers. those types of clients are the ones which can never be pleased, never pay and need things at no cost. You spend greater time trying to please them when it is simplest taking over time out of your appropriate clients. They not only take time however also cost you cash not to say headaches.

You are right.

The best you can do for your customers is offer excellent service to everyone. Be courteous and helpful (when the need arises). Go no further because no matter what you do there are some people who will never be satisfied.

In my day job I have to interact with rude customers every day. Do we acquiesce to all their demands? No.

When a customer's demands are unrealistic the only thing you can do is ask them to buy what they want elsewhere. It's not that a huge loss to you.

Giving them what they want. People over complicate things, I think that customers are quite simple. They come to your site or your business, looking for something. If they find it,at a reasonable price they will stay. Also treat your customer with respect and care, they are many times I have walked into a store and the person at the till is on the phone and continues rudely with their conversation. Well a lot of customers stay for the freebies and stuff. But if you don't have the resources to give give-aways and freebies and stuff, then reasonable customers would stay if they feel that they are greatly accommodated. Answering customer queries maybe a tiring task especially if there is a high possibility that they won't buy at all. But nonetheless this simple acts would add up to your customer service quality. Moreover, making it a habit would enable you to answer queries in a concisely and politely, the effective way.

Quality customer service is something that will see me visiting a business repeatedly. If I know that the business care about ensuring their customers are satisfied, then I know I'm never going to be disappointed, or if I have a problem with a product or service that they'll fix it right away. That's hugely helpful.

Also, places that reward their customers are also great - it gives you an incentive to keep coming back. Loyalty for businesses is huge, so when they can encourage their customers to be loyal by offering rewards, it's a nice added bonus.

Businesses should have good costumer rapport. A good harmonious relationship with clients for me is what keeps them as costumers. Also a good service and a responsive costumer service is what set a part a business. One also should sell products that are reliable and good quality. Extra deals doesn’t hurt too. The best way to retain the customer is by giving them freebies everytime they buy your product. That way they may think that they got the best seller for appreciating them as your buyer. Also, If they ask for a discount on your product it is best to give them a little than nothing. Giving them a discount is a plus factor for you that they may think that they save money and be able to buy another thing. Customers will come back to you if you will try my idea.

What of a reward system?

I've seen this used by some supermarkets where I live. They give you a "loyalty card." For each item you buy, you earn a number of points which can be redeemed later. Sounds like a strategy which could keep your customers coming back at least until they accrue enough points to redeem something they want before they leave forever.

Based from my experience as a buyer, the only thing that would make me want to buy again on the same seller is the way he/she treats me as a customer. A lot of sellers are just too arrogant and unresponsive and so, to encounter sellers that are nice and responsive is an almost rare case that makes buyers trust such sellers. Also, I believe that it's best to update customers about their orders without waiting for them to message first and to be always honest about the quality of your products because I believe that's the key to gain the trust of the buyers that will definitely make them to wanna go back and purchase to the same your store again.

True. A lot of business owners nowadays are arrogant and does feel entitled because of the business they have, without thinking that their customers are the main reason why their business is running. However, I also don't want to generalize all unresponsive sellers because I do think that there are also sellers that has a valid reason as to why they are unresponsive. However, I will never understand up to an extent where they would completely neglect and ignore a customer because that's just plain arrogance and bad customer service.

I think that customer retention is all about how you make the customer feel. Do you make the customer feel like you appreciate them? Do you make them feel like they are important? Do you make them feel that you care about whether their needs are made or not or do you make them feel like you are just trying to sell them something? One of the pillars of your website should be to have brilliant customer service.

I’d probably say that one of the best ways to retain customers is to establish a permanent connection with them. Yeah, I know that sounds like I’m just basically repeating your question in answer form, but what I mean by connection is a “personal connection.” In order to have them come back, they need to have you in their mind. There are multiple ways of establishing such a connection with your customer.

One of those ways is through things like newsletters, which basically act as a way of you saying “Hey, remember buying for me? Well I still have some great new stuff you might like!”

Another good way is to ensure that you communicate with them properly. There’s no easier way to lose a customer than by providing awful customer service.

And one of the best ways is to provide special deals for returning customers. If the customer knows that they’re going to get a discount when they come back, then they’re far more likely to get other items/services from you again. This last particular method works really well, in my opinion, because a lot of stores around my area provide you with a 15% discount when you shop there again after the first time. It’s a pretty sweet deal that always makes me come back.

I always end up buying more from companies who send out online newsletters. It's actually why I had to unsubscribe from a few of them, because they kept offering fantastic products that I wanted to buy (but didn't really need!)

Maintaining that permanent connection after an initial sale can be huge for repeat business.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

DenisP

You actually included a bit of a twist (at least for me) in that statement. When you said that you actually had to unsubscribe from a few them, my mind automatically assumed that it was because they were sending out too many newsletters and spamming your inbox. I actually wouldn’t have figured it’s because you had to stop yourself from going on a shopping spree, haha.

Sometimes companies overdo it a little bit with the newsletters, so I actually had to unsubscribe from some because they were too pushy. Like with all things, balance is required. It’s like a relationship; you don’t want to be with someone that seems too clingy or desperate, and same goes for companies trying to always sell you something.

Good customer service, high product quality (with good value for money), effective marketing - these are some elements that make customers stay. Once you are able to offer the best quality and price to the customer it is very likely that the customer will eventually become a loyal customer of your brand. It is important that we retain customers because aside from we earn from them, they are also a great way to spread and market your business or product. Once a customer is satisfied with your services/ product, they will keep on coming back and tell others about how good you are. So how do we keep them satisfied? Well I think it should start with the quality of the product/ services you are selling. Quality should be worth or worth more than the cost they'll be paying. Next is constant communication with them. Update them about the status of their orders or if there are problems encountered. Once they receive it, ask their feedback and if there are issues, try to resolve it.

But what important is providing a great customer service. People will always remember a business that has a great customer service. They might forget some products or sales but the service is something that they will always remember when shopping.

The best way for me to retain customer is to take acre of them as how you wanted to be taken care of. Customers are really important in business, they are the reason why a business is still in its progress because there are customers who are in need of their services. One thing to take care care of them is by giving freebies. Also, make sure that you will provide a good quality of service. So that ever they would be in need of the same service instead, they will definitely go after you as they proved that you are trustworthy for their orders.

To be able to retain a customer, a good service is a must. Remember, you are doing something to satisfy the need of your customers so it depends on what you offer. No matter if it is a physical thing or a service. The thing is you have to give them the best that you can offer. A higher satisfaction rating makes the customer stay in your service and that is for sure. Also being consistent is very important. It doesn't mean that when they got satisfied an they became a regular customer, you'll just slack off. You have to sustain the rating or even make it better by doing innovations and improvements in your work or service. That's how businesses became successful.

I agree that providing an excellent service can help to retain your customers. However, some customers are abusive. Despite giving them all they want and educating them about the policies, they will never be satisfied and would always ask for more.

I'll put myself in the position of a customer. I usually like a store whether online or offline if I get excellent service from it. If I get treated like crap, I don't ever come back, hell I might not even purchase from them.

Always be accommodating with your customers. Never give them a poor service because when you do they will give you a bad impression to their friends and relative which may affect your business. Show it to them they are always important and never let wait because some of the customers are very. Never forget to greet them and be approachable when they need some assistance.

As for me, the best way to retain customers is to always remember to do the things like the first time everytime. Customer satisfaction is what keeps a loyal customer. Their loyalty can be obtained by offering consistent high quality service. In this way, you will not only gain loyal customers but also earn referrals from good feedbacks.

Customer retention is essential indeed, maintaining a good relationship with them is always a good way to go about it. Another good tip is to have your staff offer their best service to all the clients. Discounts are always welcome and giving regular customers a good deal is quite beneficial and of course let's not forget the powerful force that is freebie(s) for new customers!

I think in order to retain customers is that we should learn to respect and appreciate their ideas especially if they are suggesting something with us. We should give it some importance and value so that they will feel that we are caring for them and listening for their suggestions because it will give us a positive image towards the customers.

In my experience in a customer service industry, what I've seen in customer that stay with you is the freebies. They often look for the freebies or additional incentives specially when they order in bulk.

The style that I've learned from my sister-in-law is to get personal with the customers. She was always successful with any kind of retail business that she opens. It's just that she would get bored when the business is going good that she would stop and later on would open another kind of retailing. She has her legion of customers because she had considered them as friends. They even talk of personal matter sometimes and you can imagine the hours that she spends for chatting.

Repeat customers and clients are your bread and butter. They give you a more stable income and they keep your business alive. Repeat customers are very important. You can keep your customers and clients by "satisfaction" during their first try. They must be a "satisfied customer" when they first tried out your products or services. They must have a good experience with you. "Positive feedback"!

It takes a lot to earn a customer’s loyalty. And once you bring someone into your company’s ecosystem, the last thing you want to do is lose them. By emphasizing customer retention as a key performance indicator (KPI) for your business, you can ensure your priorities are in the right place.
