Traffic jams and other bad road conditions can disrupt the supply chain and this can affect not just the business owners who incur losses but also customers who expect to buy goods which at times aren't delivered on time.

Though this doesn't affect me directly at times it does, indirectly. At times traffic jams make it impossible for trucks transporting produce to get to the markets in time. Anytime this happens, the prices sky rocket. Since one can never tell when this will happen it's possible to be caught off guard from time to time.

Traffic only affects many business in case of delivery and transportation. I think going for a outside meeting and delivery would not be a problem if you have your own vehicle.

True! When it comes to meeting up with a business appointment and the road is always congested, you can't do anything else but wait patiently till the traffic is free.

A lot of business deals have been canceled as a result of delays in meeting up with the appointment and it's all as a result of traffic issues.

Traffic messes can be bad since this form also happened to me recently and I had to be skipped for the interview. J felt so bad.

I'm sorry to hear that. I've heard lots of people losing jobs over being late. Punctuality is something jobs and businesses demand of us. If we're unable to show them that we comply early on, it's likely they won't hire us.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

emiaj55
And that is just one down side to being an employee. But if we do get hired, punctuality is still expected as basis for a good performance. But to be on time you have to wake up earlier, leave earlier to make up for the time traffic would consume. In reality we are giving far too much than what we earn, because we are only paid for the time we spent on the office. And yet there is traffic in going to work and in going home from work. At the end of the day we seem to be spending more time on the road!

Still, sorry to hear about your interview man. I hope you find a better opportunity.

I don't think anyone will want to hire someone who comes late to work but they seize to understand that we go through stress before coming to work which is not anyone's fault.

That's terrible. Traffic jams have been affecting the liesbof different people. It is even the cause of stress and illnesses of other people. It may affect a person's sanity too.

Yeah that's true and it's not good at all but what can someone do about it aside going to lodge in a motel in a distance trekkable to the venue.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Yeah I experienced something of this sort and its almost happen everyday except on Sundays.

I know, right? It's really not nice. It can also reflect negatively on you since you weren't able to show up on time. Sometimes it results in potential clients not wanting to have deals with you again. That's certainly disheartening.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

I guess that's one way of people's business being affected by traffic.
And as Jeane mentioned it does affect the supply and demand in the markets which means we're all indirectly affected somehow.

I could not remember now how many meeting I have had to cancel because of the traffic. Sure I know that traffic is a daily issue now and yet no matter how much you adjust your time, there would always be instances that you just can't make it. There was even this time that I have spent a whole day outside just for a single meeting. Traffic consumed my morning and even when going home, there is still traffic. Traffic affects our business in many ways that is why, if things could all be done through the net, transact through the net, then I would gladly do so. Sadly this is not always the case.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Yeah have experience similar things when I try to catch up with my work especially in those populated cities.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Steve5
Yeah. It's better to take your own car out for a ride. Using other means of transportation can take a lot of time. You can't afford to be late. Especially, for important clients. Also, you're more comfortable going unlike when you're squeezed in tight spaces.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Yeah that's true, it affects most business especially those on delivery and transportation.

I think that traffics really affect the way our business do because we are losing a lot of time from it. The heavy traffic that we are experiencing in our country many investors loses some interest since time is gold in every minute we can do a lot of things from it. Traffics are one of the major problem that our government should take into consideration and find some immediate solution if possible so that we can have more income that can help back our economy.

I agree. Traffic is one of the issues that government to pay attention as it affects a lot of work and businesses. Time is gold when it comes to business, it may become a factor in which some businesses will not be successful because of the traffic.

Yes, road traffic is one of the reasons why I chose to work online as a freelance writer or worker. When I was working for a company, it took me an hour's preparation and 2 hours travelling time just to reach my office then afterwards I would spend another 2-3 hours travelling back home during rush hour. A lot of wasted time and effort which I could have used for more productive things.

I can so relate with this, somedays I get to the office then drained from sweat and also get tired for sitting in the traffic for hours. My region is a lot better I usually pity that lives on the mainland. Terrible traffic daily.

I am not staying in Lagos, Nigeria, but those that are staying in this city can definitely testify that road traffic is a major concern there. You can't set out time that you are going to get to the office without being in one traffic jam or the other and this is pretty terrible for business people.

I have personally been to Lagos in Nigeria on more than one occasion and I can very well tell you that it's one of the worst area in the country when it comes to traffic issues. Could you believe that at one of my business trip to the state, I was stuck in traffic for more than 5 long hours. It was horrible.

I have lived in Lagos and getting to any way is like a chore. I had to relocate to uyo to have my peace. Lagos is just over crowded and overpopulated. Maybe more routes for vehicles could help.

Well, depending on the nature of your business, road traffic might be of a positive impact on your business or a negative impact as well.

Some business literally needs to be by the road side in order to sell well. So, it's all about what you are selling and who are your customers.

This is an interesting thought. This topic and the comments seems to be veering more on the negative effects of traffic on their businesses or even everyone. I myself, could only think of the negative effects of traffic so I am really intrigued on your point of view. I tried to think of a positive effect but I am just stumped. So I am really curious. Could you expound more on this thought? There might be some lessons that I am missing that I could apply in my business as well. Maybe I could use traffic for my advantage.

I think that traffic jams and the increasing pollution due to it is a major problem that not only has an adverse effect on your business but also your physical and mental health. Most of the big cities and metros throughout the World are facing the problem of inadequate infrastructure and the ever increasing number of vehicles. The recurring traffic jams result in wastage of time and resources and is definetly going to bring down the profit margins of any business.

For businesses with delivery and distribution I'd say the traffic on the road is one factor to be considered. Last week I ordered a garden hose and the delivery was delayed by a day. There was no explanation but I assumed that it was the traffic because just in the main road of our town I always see the horrendous traffic. Even when we order food for delivery, we already had earned 2 pizza delivery for free because the delivery came after 30 minutes of the promised time.

Most of the street hawkers and the small shops. They have the most issues. Some make money despite road traffic. And some of the folks who are dependent on proper traffic to even stand there. I think they get affected as well. I guess depending on how people see things fit with the business on roads. They get affected with delivery issues like you said too.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Yes, it really is affecting the businesses that have delivery services. The traffic in the city specifically has been a problem of many people and it would be a very long journey to fix it. It would take many years to build solutions because it's not easy to create a skyway or create a new road to lessen the traffic in the main area.

Traffic has its negative effect on every business whether directly or indirectly. Losses are incurred daily because of it. It even affects the economy. I think solving it should be one of the focus of each government.

True. So I suggest thag if your going for a outside appointment. You should always expect the traffic so better prepare early than to be late.

I agree with you actually, traffic jams affect everyone. There's no exception. It's just frustrating that everyone cause traffic. It's not because of a certain group, it's because of us. I just hope that one day, there will be less-frustrating means of transportation.

At times it is brought out by our nuisance mentalities and lack of common courtesy as we drive. When you block a driver and they block another one five cars on it becomes a traffic gridlock

I believe that brighter days are ahead of us. I believe that the time will come where traffic was just a part of the history. I also believe that one day traffic will produce us job opportunities and lead us to new inventions to upgrade our transport system and can be classified as world class transport system. I am looking forward for a visionary leader that will lead this country to the next level.

It affects our drivers but not that much. We schedule each tour so that whatever happens we're sure we can get a vehicle to our clients. I don't know about other businesses though, I'm guessing they're affected but I don't know if negatively.

Time is very important especially in being organized and productive. Lesser time for a wok which has to be done in a specific allotted time would result on poor performance or product. It greatly affects your income, the quality and quantity of you work. It is also true that companies lose billions just because of traffic that is why Japan made a project to counter this.

For a long time, one of the major linking roads in my city has been a little too narrow for the many cars that drive through there every day. The traffic there is always crazy. Crazy enough for you to be caught in for over three hours. Thank goodness the road was recently reconstructed. The flow of traffic is really fast now and you can plan deadlines and not be worried about missing them due to a traffic hold up.

I don't have an offline business so that is not going to affect my online business. I do take calls and often the traffic outside road. So the thing is that I may often have to ask for the sound proof rooms. And that way I can manage to easily get over the business that is set close to the road. You can definitely see that there are times when such actions often affect the roadside business who are close to footpath.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Well, it depends on your business. If your business involves transportation or delivery of any kind,of course, it would be affected by traffic. With the growth of your city and development comes with a frustrating traffic jam. I just hope that one day, it will be fixed by great minds. Everyone is atfected, not only those who have businesses.

Yes. I thought that this problem was only in my Country. The other day I was in traffic for 4 hours for a distance that would usually take me 15 minutes. This affects business because people have to leave their houses early to make it to work on time and go home immediately so they can see their kids. People no longer shop how they used to. I think this problem is exclusive to cities that have lazy leaders that have no vision for their cities/towns and countries.

I do know of an area business that is sort of out in the boon docks. If you did not know that this place was there, you would never visit it. It is on a gravel road, several miles down a windy road. The roads are pretty crappy, but this business is amazing. It is a restaurant, and also has a little craft shop. The food is so good that most weekends, you have to wait at least half an hour for a table. But people do it because the food is so good.

There have been a few times that they have had to close because of the weather. If it snows too bad, the roads are much too dangerous for anyone to drive on them.

I totally agree on this. The traffic in our country keeps on getting worse every day making it too toxic for us to handle. People are not tired because of their work, they are tired because of their travel on their way home. I hope the government could find a solution regarding this matter because it really affects people's productivity a lot.

What do you need to know when promoting your own business?

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Ushuaya
As you promote your business on the Internet, you will have to perform many tasks simultaneously. For example, updating the site, running contextual advertising and search engine optimization, and publishing posts on social networks. To not waste extra time on small things, you will have to optimize the routine processes and, if possible, combine the different tasks. Reliable Ready Sites Service solves this problem. In addition to site management, it combines all the necessary tools for promotion in one panel: contextual advertising, SEO, promotion in social networks. You can forget about millions of open tabs and different applications to work with the project.
