Common health problems of dogs

We are planning on adopting a puppy. But, first I would like to know the common health problems of dogs. I want to know what to be prepared for.

Heartworms are a huge problem for most dogs, especially if they don't get vaccinated early. Be sure to update your dog's vaccinations with your vet ASAP and keep your animal indoors when not going for walks.

These are the most common health problems dogs experience. Our dogs are faithful companions, and they depend on us for good care. To help your canine friend live a healthy life, you should know some of the most common health problems dogs face, their signs.

Ear infections are a common canine health problem, and they can be caused by allergies, yeast, ear mites, bacteria, hair growth deep in the ear canal, and more. Symptoms your dog may have with an ear infection include ; Head shaking or head tilting, Ear odor, Vigorous scratching, Lack of balance, Unusual back and-forth eye movements, Redness of the ear canal.

Tapeworms, roundworms, hookworms and whipworms are common internal parasites in dogs. And although any worm infestation can make your pooch uncomfortable, some, like hookworms, can be fatal in puppies. Signs your dog may have worms include ;Diarrhea (may be bloody), Weight loss, and sudden change in appetite.

I am a dog owner and in my observation, one of the major problems in a dog is the flea. However, you can easily control flea if you bath your dog regularly by using flea control shampoo. You should also avoid leaving your dog in damp and dark place as these conditions can be breeding ground for fleas.
Another problem is worms. A dog can suffer from various kinds of worms. The best way to avoid your dog getting worms is by administering de-worming medicines once in every six months. The deadliest of worms is heartworm. You should vaccinate your dog for heart worm.
