Olive oil is probably one of the widely used items in the kitchen. You can use it for so many different applications its really insane. I had no idea that it could be good for digs in fact i thought the exact opposite. I figured since it was oil that it would not be good for them but i guess i was wrong. I wonder if Olive oil extends the life of humans as well as canines. This could be why we always see those 100 year old Italian ladies will cooking in the kitchen with no problems. We should try this with prince although he does not need any weight loss he could use the energy boost. Not only that i noticed that you mentioned that it also makes them more excited to eat the dog food. Prince does not like dog food if he could he would always eat cooked meat and steamed veggies lol.

he really would. he will get that eventually. LOL i will start making him, his own food soon. i had a feeling he was not going to go for the olive oil on his dog food! im eager to try this with Bailey though, i think tomorrow i will try it with her when i feed her. i have a feeling that she is going to love it and eat it all up! and if she does, i will be giving this to her every day or maybe just a few times a week, i don't want her to start losing weight or anything lol. her coat will be sooo shiny and soft and she will look so pretty after a few times of doing this for her!

Our vet recommended sunflower oil which we give to our dog daily. We also add cod liver oil capsules too. Despite all this we see her shedding. Of late as per her Vet's advice we have started her on those supplements - Top-10 and hope her coat will get that shine back.
Do you have any suggestions for shedding?

I used to add olive oil to my dog's food, and he does like it just fine that way. In fact, he likes his food much better when I put some oil in it. Now I give him virgin coconut oil and flax meal on his dog food in place of the olive oil, and I think that this is making his coat look even better. he is a very old dog, so I know that he will never look as good as he did when he was a young dog; but at least I know that this is helping to keep him healthy, and he enjoys his food better, too. I always share food that we cook with the dogs as well, and then I give them dry small kibble so they can munch when they are hungry between meals. 8 Reasons To Add Olive Oil To Your Dogs Diet

Awww he is so cute! I have a Yorkie too, and he is very picky with his food, so I will have to try with coconut and olive oil. Usually, my Yorkie smells all his food, like if he is looking for a secret, or I don't know what. He does like human food, but I've noticed is not good for his belly, sometimes he gets sick in fact. Anyway, I will try with olive and coconut oil, to see how it turns out to be, wish me good luck!

I am not a dog person. I'm not animal person. But my daughter has a dog and oddly enough, I rather like that cute little creature. She looks very much like the dog in this picture only her coat is a darker brown mixed with black hair and instead of white hair, it's kind of a golden color. My daughter keeps olive oil in her pantry. I may mention this to her.

It's not just to the dogs meals that olive oil when used is of great value but also even when applied to their skin, it's of a very good skins and fur development.

Olive oil is a very good essential commodity, it's also edible. One can lick it freely without fearing for any inconvenience or side effects. Sometimes, I even use it as my pomade.

We've got a neighbour that owns a dog and my grandmom who stays far away from home also have a dog as a pet. So, I am sure that telling them about adding olive oil to the food that they give to their dogs would come handy for them. I do not have the time to have any pet yet for I'm still taking care of myself. Never knew that as olive oil is good for a man that it is also good for dogs.

I use coconut oil more often than I use the olive oil, but my dogs seem to be happy with either one added to their food. Sometimes I will cook a little fatty hamburger and add the hamburger and the grease to their dog food, and they always gobble that up even faster than when I add olive or coconut oil tothe food.
I have also started adding some fresh flax meal, which not only adds the flax oil (which is very beneficial) but it also adds good fiber and many nutrients to help keep my dogs healthy and looking sleek.

I have never added olive oil to my dog food, I used the olive oil on my dog ear when he was bitten by a bug or something, the vet gave us a cream and told us to use the olive oil as well. I have read all of your points and this makes me use the olive oil for my dog in the future, I really didn't know it is so good.

I always cook for my dog. I have a maro American Stafford, like a tiger. I have read about the benefits of oils and healthy fats that I decided to cook his meals too. Because I started a keto diet https://ketodietapp.com/Blog/lchf/...to-Eat-and-Avoid, because of my diabetes and my dog has added some kg, we had to make a change in our food list. There was a time when I was eating processed food and my remote work determined to accept the fact I'm sick with a whole chain of diseases just eating healthy oils. In the future, I hope my wifi will accept the fact that my dog is a part of my life. Guys, what animals do you have?

This is a good idea, I have heard a lot about the positive functions of olive oil for dogs when they are on a diet. In particular, now I do not spoil my pet much with diets because recently he was cured of arthritis and he is supposed to take more fatty foods because he did not eat anything because of the disease. My dog was helped with arthritis https://www.healthcanal.com/best-cbd-oil/dogs-arthritis This is an excellent remedy that has had a positive effect on the health and condition of my dog's bones
