There are lots of ways to lose weight safely and slowly. Reduce the amount of carbs he is having but also have one day off a week so he doesn't have cravings.
Overnight oats is a very healthy a filling snack, all he needs is 40g gluten free porridge oats, 200g natural fat free yoghurt and mixed berries.
Layer the oats, yogurt and berries a little at a time in a glass, cover the glass and leave in the fridge overnight.

Well, i myself became overweight and the only thing I did is reduce salty and sweet foods. Avoid salty food like junk foods, shawarma, tacos anything that has a large amount of salt. Avoid sweets also like chocolates, sugars, soft drinks, and other beverages that contain sugar. Furthermore, doing exercise is one way also of reducing weight while avoiding those foods I mentioned. These are the things that made my weight back to normal. Its just a suggestion and tips it is still up to you.

Wow. Would you mind sharing to us how much weight did you lose? That's really awesome. Not all people are determined enough to lose weight and avoid eating those yummy foods that you have mentioned - they just can't. But you did it. Congrats! Please advice food and diet to decrease weight?

I like your suggestion. Junk foods, cakes, and sodas contribute a huge amount to your weight, so these kind of foods are not recommended. Eating healthy food is a game changer. Eat plenty of fruits and vegetables and do exercise regularly. You'll see results in no time. Self-discipline is always the key to achieve what you want. Yeah this is effective. I've watched a video by a doctor about losing weight and one thing that he said that sugar is the most important thing to cut off from your diet. I forgot his name but he has a lot of suggestions in there especially the workouts and what & what nots in eating.

Rather than eating less I would recommend a good amount of exercise every day. No amount of less eating will help if one does not keep oneself physically active. Yes. Less of carbohydrates such as rice could be avoided but not altogether. We need carbohydrates that are a source of energy.

I suggest reduce the carbs, sweets, and salt intake. don't eat junk foods and sodas. Eat healthy foods like veggies and fruits and white meat. It's best if you accompanied it with exercise daily. Planking and running in the morning are the best exercise. I myself was having a hard time losing weight but I taught myself to focus and discipline to achieve my goals. Your friend can do it too.. trust me.

Eat more of fruits and veggie and keep away carbs, snacks and fast food.

Nothing keeps one bloated like the junks.Eat more of healthy alternative even bread is a culprit because it contain so much sugar and sodium.

Take your exercise routine serious and you will naturally drop weight.

The best solution to decreasing your friend's weight is a mixture of changing your food habits AND exercising! These two go in hand and I really suggest that he does both for the most optimal and fastest results. Regarding what food he should be eating... I would focus on completely cutting out all products with sugar. That means all. No cakes. No sodas. He should only drink water. Right before meals, I suggest that he drinks a full glass of water so his belly gets full and he will end up eating less at the meal.

Absolutely no junk food should be allowed. He should try to always prepare his meals himself and count the calories intake. He shouldn't exceed XY amount depending on his height and his daily activity (you can look that up on the internet). His meals should always consist of mainly vegetables with some protein (meat) and almost no carbs. If he manages to get used to this lifestyle and eating he will definitely lose weight.

Drink at least 8 pints of water a day, although this seems hard to do it will reduce his food intake as the fluids will fill him up. This is a quick and effective way to loose weight, as your body will start to retain less water because it no longer needs to store it because your constantly hydrating. I hope this helps

This isn't generally true. This has been a myth for quite some time and people still do it. There has been studies and experiments regarding the so call recommended 8 glasses of water per day myth. Although it is always good to drink water at least 8 glasses ever day, some studies show that it also doesn't really need to be 8 glasses because some people would even drink more or less depending on how much they can take in.

This helps, too. Since it would somehow help in digestion. With huge amount of digestion we must also drink a lot of water. It's difficult to not sustain the right amount of water in our body since it will have a lot of adverse effects, a minor one would be constipation. And we don't want to have a bloated and problematic stomach don't we?

Do exercises and body work out everyday. Not just 10-20 minutes per day but make it at least an hour so that your body will have to burn lots of not needed fats. But also keep in mind that it is necessary to have a healthy balanced diet in order for your work outs to really pay off.

I have to agree with this. It is important to note the calories intake and calories burnt on a daily basis. This helps us to know whether we are eating too much or exercising too little. I try to minimize carbohydrates and take more fruits and veggies to decrease weight. Exercise should be on a consistent basis too.

I can tell you on my own experience, best way to do it is guided by a physician, and include some cardio training. My weight was about 190 pounds 2 years ago, right now I'm 143, I got sick due to my overweight and had to go to the doctor. I started a nutrition plan, I did some yoga to help with my anxiety and stress, and cardio 3 days a week. It took about a year to loose all those pounds, but I did it the healthy way. Eat more salads, drink tons of water, reduce sugar, eat smaller portions but having more meals a day, and check with your doctor.

I'm also trying to lose some weight and I've tried a few methods for a few months at a time and none seem to work that well for me, unfortunately. I think I'll just have to do it the traditional way and maybe even consider turning vegetarian so I can significantly decrease my calorie and carbohydrate intake. I think just eating healthier and exercising more should work well enough as that has been proven to work time and time again by many people, so for now I think I'll be shifting my method from crazy diets onto something a little more traditional, and hopefully it will work for me.

10 years ago I was overweight, 60kg which was considered obese and overweight for my height. The doctor advised me to cut down on my diet and exercise more. You know, exercise is really out of the topic. Anyway, I did changed my diet and exercise regime which had proven that it is possible even without going to the gym or losing weight program. You can save your money.

I walk 10 minutes to the grocery shop every day, thru and fro, equals to 20 minutes. Another 30 minutes of evening walk around the housing area daily. So, that add up to 50 minutes per day.

I ate tofu, veggies, brown rice every day, once a week meat , no fast food, no midnight snack. In 6 months, I had lost 15kg. You can do it too

Well, i think eating heavy foods in the morning helps in weight reduction. And eating a high-protein breakfast has been shown to reduce cravings and calorie intake throughout the day (19, 20, 21). Avoid sugary drinks and fruit juice. These are the most fattening things you can put into your body, and avoiding them can help you lose weight (22, 23). Drink water a half hour before meals.

The key to lose weight and manitain a perfect structure is to eat a balanced diet along with regular work-outs. We are 'what we eat', so we should keep an eye on what's going inside our body. Suggest your friend to include lots of vegetables and fruits in his diet and ask him to avoid sugar and junk foods.
you may also ask your friend to try paleo-diet which fulfills his tummy as well as helps him to shed those extra fat. Before that, make sure to consult a dietician.

Losing weight is simple, change your life style. Diet is the most important. Exercise is too, especially for your overall health, but for weight loss, it's not CRITICAL, in my opinion. It's all pretty much about calorie in and calorie out, if you were looking only at weight gain or loss. Yes, exercise can help you burn calories, but the rate at which it burns is really unsavory to my liking. What, they say that if you biked for 30 minutes it only equates to burning the calorie of a cookie?! Cutting out sugary foods and drinks is the most important. Those things are too calorie dense for the fullness and other nutritional value they provide. I would also limit snacking (my biggest foe). Try to cook your meals for yourself. This way, your meals are fresh and you know how much calorie you are consuming. Vegetables are great at dieting because they contain so little calories, you can eat a lot, unlike carbs which contains a lot of calories per similar serving. Also, watch out for lipids when you are cooking, they are quite calorie dense.

Though remember OP, you have to make life style changes for anything to stick. Again, I want to reiterate that I don't think exercise is critical in purely losing weight if you can control your calorie intake. There are a lot of websites that can determine what your daily calorie intake should be based on your sex, weight, and height. However, I think exercise is extremely critical to your overall health, and you should be exercise regardless of losing weight or not.

The best method I have found when I was losing weight is to eat half raw food half cooked, and begin always with the raw food, this way you're going to be sure to incorporate include raw calorie food in your diet, I have also found that when I exercise I drink a lot of water which prevents me from eating more, cause I have always my stomach filled with water.

In my experience of losing weight, you can try eating more eggs and less sweet and fatty foods. I also learned that dieting is not just about eating fruits because fruits have a sugar you should consider eating fruits. I also recommend eating vegetables than fruits. You should also drink plenty of water. Skip drinking coffee because it has many ingredients that may gain your weight.

You need to do exercise but that is not all, the most important thing is your alimentation. You need to eat a lot of green, for example, kale, spinach, collards, swiss chards, broccoli, cauliflower and a few others. A combination of protein, fiber, and low energy density makes cruciferous vegetables the perfect foods to include in your meals if you need to lose weight. Tuna and Salmon are a good idea when it comes to eating fish on a diet to decrease weight.

He should take more of fruits, vegetables and try as much as he can to avoid starchy foods as well as snacks. One thing I have come to realize is that taking food with many starch contents thwarts the efforts of those trying to lose weight. So, let your friend mind what he takes every day.

Also, I would suggest that he starts exercising, but in this case with a gym, instructor in the gym will help give him the needed drills that will contribute to him shedding off those pounds. Gym instructors will also help in advising him the type of food he should take every day to avoid the issue of the exercising program not working out.

I wish him the best of luck as I am here wishing I can add a little flesh to mine!

Well I prefer you must advice your friend to eat vegetables and stop eating fatty foods like meat. Because vegetables make our body firm and has a very less of fatty ingredients. You must make him eat it everyday. But to be honest diet is not just enough you must tell him to exercise as well. In order to make our body firm, we must loose fluids in our body through sweat. That is what I am doing. I am exercising 3 times a week. My body is firm and have no problems of overweight cause I do diet and exercise together.

To your friend do not give up brother you can make your body transform to what you have desire Please advice food and diet to decrease weight?

Tell him to Add food to his diet with high water content such as lettuce, cucumber, watermelon or pinapple, those will make great snacks and they'll help him lose water weight too, they are low in sugar and carbs so they are as healthy as a food can be. Also he needs to exercise and stop eating junk food such as fries, burguers or pizza... Doing the diet with someone else can really help so if you are trying to help him and to improve your health a bit, doing it with him it's going to be good for both of you...

The thing that helped me lose some weight is an app called myfitnesspal which shows you how many calories a day you should eat to lose weight. If you count your calories right and track everything you eat you will lose weight with this app because losing weight is no rocket science. You should eat fewer calories than you use to lose the fat you have stored in your body.

Eat salads often, avoid carbonated drinks like soda and high sugar liquids. Work out or exercise often. People forget it's not all about pounding weights but running, jogging, hitting the treadmill or just shooting hoops for 45 minutes at a local gym will burn much calories. Don't overeat. When you're full, just stop eating. Also don't eat very late at night, especially pastries and desserts. Skip fried food for awhile as well.

Eat balanced diet and exercise. This is such a cliche and i'm not a nutritionist but its true, A person becomes overweight because he or she doesn't eat right. A person may eat more or less than normal but still be overweight if he or she does't eat right. It will help if you view your food as a fuel to give you energy for the day, and know your go, glow, and grow food. Avoid fatty and sweet food and drink a lot of water. If you are involved in a work where you just sit around all day, lessen your carbs, because these carbs are fuel. If unused, will become stored fat. If you are already overweight, Eat minimal to no carb diet and exercise regularly. Your stored fat will serve as a fuel after your body has used up most of the carbs.

Avoid eating foods with high carbohydrates. This is what we call carbs. This will make you fat. Speaking of fat, only take proper amount of proteins. Good example is fish or the white meat that we eat. Never take or take it minimally the red meat because it is harder to digest and contains high amounts of cholesterol. Eat plenty of vegetables and drink lots of lots of water. This will help you get slim fast. I almost forgot, do cardio everyday.

To loosen the weight, i think you need to lessen the rice that you eat.You need to eat rice only on breakfast and lunch, after that the your dinner must be a light meal, a veggy or fruits only.I think exercise is most helpfull to, a daily routine on gym will help you to reduced you weight.I think if you only lesser the food you eat and you do not do exercise, i think it will not be so effective. If you are not a busy person, i recommend to you go to gym three times a week. Its very hard but in that way you will reduced weight fast and healthy way.

Your body needs fuel to exercise, and the source of that fuel is food. That's why some people report feeling hungrier when they start to work out. If you're trying to lose weight, this could be counterproductive unless you find the right balance of healthy, filling foods. The typical American diet is loaded with refined or simple carbohydrates such as white flours, rice, and pasta, and pastries, soda, and other sugary foods and drinks. These carbs, which lack the fiber found in complex carbs (whole grains, fruits, and veggies), are metabolized by your body quickly. So while you may feel raring to go after eating them, that energy boost will soon be followed by a major energy slump, making it hard to give your all during your workouts. In addition, if many of the foods you eat are metabolized quickly, you'll find yourself feeling hungry more often, which could mean more snacking and a higher calorie intake.

What I know about food and weight problems is the quantity of food you consume and the timing of your eating. Eating huge quantity of food can increase someone's weight drastically and also eating late at night is also another strong variable that causes increased weight.

If you really want to reduce weight, one consume little amount of food and never eat late at night. Also make eating fruits your hubby. Eat more of fruits than actual food, and also hit the gym regularly.

Weight loss is tricky and in a way easy. You just consume less energy/food ,then your body needs. They are a million diets ,so finding them shouldn't be a problem. A simple google search should do the trick. The problem becomes following them especially, if they are too calorie restrictive. I would advise, you go on a diet ,that restricts only one food group, i.e a low carb diet or a vegetarian diet. Both of which you are not allowed carbs or proteins. The problem with diets also is you may end up eating, more than your daily calorie requirements. My advise keep a food journal and use an App like My Fitness Pal to count your calories. This is very important and can be the difference between success and failure.

Even if you cut carbohydrates on your diet meal but you don't exercise that is useless. If your friend eats rice tell him to eat at least 1 cup or half cup of rice in every meal. Eat more on fruits and vegetables and less carbohydrates food. Exercise is a must if you are trying to lose weight. Attached herewith is the food pyramid of diabetic. Either he is diabetic or not my doctor says that the recommended food for diabetic is best to non-diabetic if they want to become fit.

That is also my daughter’s problem she is 14 years oldand I having problem how she will lose weight. One thing I did I went to gym and
ask to gym instructor what will be the best thing to do in order to lose
weight. We start by getting her a private instructor just focus on her five
days gym exercise and routine then the instructor will give daily diet on what to
eat. Then I cut the junk foods and soft drinks and we eat before six o’clock. Thesix o'clock diet allows you to eat whatever you want as long as you don't eat
after six in the evening. Supporters of the diet claim it's best to consume
your calories during the day when you will burn them up working, running
errands or taking care of your kids. The idea is that less energy is expended
when relaxing at night and for bodily functions while sleeping, so any calories
you consume at night go straight into fat storage

This is totally true. The main thing to do, is to avoid to feel hunger or stop eating meals. The right way to do it, is by stopping junk food, sodas, chips, candies, and start replacing them with fruits, tea, water, and veggies. Eating at specific hours will help too, and having 5 meals a day will make the metabolism faster, and drinking at least 2 liters of water will keep you satisfied and hydrated.

I have been through this ordeal since I turn 30. I realized I didn't change the amount of my food intake, as well as change my menu. But as I age, my body isn't the eay it's supposed to be. I am slowly gaining more and more. And then I got pregnant. I checked my food intake because at some point I got a scare for gestational diabetes. So I followed a certain diet during that time. So I did not gain so much pregnancy weights. However, once the baby arrived, I slowly gained the weight. Then I tried different methods of diets. Some worked and gave me a pound or more per week or month, but they ultimately became failure. Why? because I gained them all back faster than I loose them. So I decided to ditch all the short cut methods. I run everyday. and slowly wean myself off from sugars. I make sure I only take a maximum of 4 teaspoons of sugars. I immediately notice my tummy toning down as I decrease my sugar intake. Now I am about to lower down my sodium intake also. Sodium is also responsible for a lot of fluid retentions in our bodies. I suggest you go slowly. No other short cut method but proper diet, with the right macronutrients to avoid cravings and exercise. This is the key to loose weight.

Congrats on taking the decision, and choosing to follow a proper food habit and exercise. By the way, exercise is super important when you want to decrease weight, it also helps you reduce insulin levels, leads you to meet new friends, and to feel more active. A diet won't give the proper results, unless you put some physical effort and do some exercise, specially cardio.

I don't believe in proper exercise and healthy diet just to achieve your target weight. What I do is whenever I am hungry or it's time to eat, I make sure that I only eat little or not too much to the extent that I'm not full. Remember, it's better to eat multiple times a day but just only a little and never experience to be full again than just eat one time big time. I used to be around 170lbs but now, it's 145lbs.

It is not that easy to lose weight. One must not be discouraged as losing weight require lots of dedication and hard work and it is not something that can happen overnight. Eating the right foods and doing the right exercise will definitely help anyone to lose weight. Try to eat more fruits and vegetables. Eliminating fast and processed foods from your diet will definitely work. If you drink soda then this is something that you must quit drinking. As I said above exercising is equally important. I will suggest you to go and see a trainer as he will be in a good position to advise you about the right exercises.

When it comes to dieting and losing weight, what has helped me the most is looking at your food in terms of numbers. Most people would simply call this counting calories.

The amount of calories you're going to burn on a daily basis will vary from person to person, but it is generally agreed that the average, sedentary person burns about 2,000 calories per day. Now, every pound of fat on your body is made up of around 3,500 calories. This means that in order to burn that fat off, you're going to have to somehow remove 3,500 calories from yourself within a certain time frame.

It is generally considered that the healthiest rate of fat loss is at around 1 pound a week. If 1 pound of fat is equal to 3,500 calories, and you burn 2,000 calories a day, this means you have to consume 1,500 calories daily in order to have a deficit of 3,500 calories by the end of the week.

Most people trying to lose weight simply hold a daily diet of 1,200 to 1,500 calories which allows them to lose 1-2 pounds of fat per week.

Genetics play a part also. Some people can burn calories faster than others. A simple work out plan for those people will work wonders.

I think you have to avoid a lot of carbs and also have to avoid food that increases weight gain. So movement daily on small things. And moving ahead for the calorie burning is one way to do that. I think in that context it'd be reasonable to say that this may be a good option. Though weight gain happens due to lack of movement. It'd be not that bad in that case to see how that works out though.

While everyone else wants to know food for decreasing weight, I am here wanting to know food for increasing weight. Fruits and vegetables helps in decreasing weight. Avoiding deep fried foods, bread, processed food and minimizing the amount in cooking fat can help in reducing unnecessary weight gain.

I think cutting down on some vegetables, sugar and the non veg can does help. But one has to be physically active. And that seems to be one way to manage the reduction of the weight. I have found out that most of the people get better that way. It is different for each one of the people these days. But we have to understand our own body.

Which vegetables do you mean one should cut down and why? A good example of a vegetable that helps i decreasing weight is cabbage. I doubt if vegetables should be avoided when it comes to losing weight.

Potato, tomato, cauliflower, anything that has lot of calories. That needs to be cut down. Most of the veggies have the calories that needs to be cut down. And that is the only way to get the weight managed properly. That's what I have found out in such case. You can see that it is not that easy to cut down on weight this way.

Many people suffer excess weight due to the type of food they eat. Foods that contain fats must be avoided to resolve the issues of excess weight. Balanced diet should be observed in your food as you know it's the diet that contains all the food nutrients in the right proportion. It's a combination of all the food nutrients such as carbohydrates, protein, vitamins and so on which help you in many ways.

While trying to diet or reduce weight, you can achieve this simply by eating certain types of food. In the first place, you must stop eating fatty foods or foods that contain lots of starch such as rice, cassava, maize and so on. You must ensure you eat balance diets at all times so that your weight can easily be controlled. When you want to eat rice, you must make sure that you add beans or an egg per meal so that the protein subdues the fats in the rice proportionally.

When trying to lose weight, I really believe high protein works best. But, weight loss and gain come down to a simple calculation of calories consumed versus calories burned. You must always eat for what you do. A person with a physically demanding lifestyle can eat much more than one who sits at a desk all day.

I honestly don't recommend the idea of trying out random suggestion in a bid to loose some weight. Our body systems are very different from one another, what works for him might not work for you. The best way to go about sensitive health issues of this nature is by going yo see a doctor or diet specialist if possible. It's best we go about things the proper way especially when it relates to health issues.

I tried out a lot of things to reduce my weight once and none of the many suggestions worked for me. I had to do it the right way just as I stated above, not to long after I started I lost so much weight it amazed me.

Clean eating and exercise is the best way to lose weight naturally. I suggest removing all processed foods and artificial sweeteners from the diet. Also, meal planning is a good way to monitor what you put into your body and how much calories you'll take on a daily basis. Lastly, move your body. When I was still in the transition of trying to cut some fats, I realize it's not how many hours you sweat, it's a matter of how consistent you'll shred. 15 to 30 mins a day will go a long way to reach your goal. I hope this will help Please advice food and diet to decrease weight?

Don't worry too much about food, worry more about exercising. You can literally eat anything you want, as much as you want, as long as you burn more calories than you take in. This is why many fuss over their eating but barely have any results because their intake being lower doesn't differ much form their output.

If you want the best results then you should combine both exercising and dieting. Speaking strictly about dieting you should follow your daily calorie intake and not surpass it, because you are going to gain weight, a lot of junk food has a lot of calories so that's why you should usually skip it. When we are talking about training, you should focus on cardio a lot so you can burn fat and lose weight.

What I think is that there is/are no food that will make your weight decrease but there are food that are less carbs and calories you can take for you to lose weight of course with exercise. It is the combination of the food you intake and the exercise you practice. You should calculate the calories of food you will eat and how much calories you should reduce so by exercising the correct amount of time you can calculate the calories you reduce. You will just have to do a research about the list you can do for you to identify of how much you reduce this amount of calories or something like that.

If you want to have a healthy and effective food diet program you don't really need to have diet plans if you wan't to fulfill you stomach needs, all you have to do is to eat more fruits than your basic food needs because fruits has no fats and having more vitamins than basic foods we usually eat. But most important is discipline, you cannot achieve what you really wanted if you allow yourself to become a slave of foods, but you must be the one to decide what you have to eat and not your stomach or taste because you cant do it if you have no dedication or willingness to sacrifice your desires to achieve your goals.

Before, my weight was 80 kilos with a height of 4'10 so I can say that I am obese. It was really depressing as I have to faced the insults and the words trashed by people. I have to be hurt for me to get inspired because I begun to motivate myself when one person really hurt me so bad that I almost wanted to walk away from that situation but I chose to stay and paid respect for that person as he was much older than me. I don't want my parents to get disappointed at me, instead of doing it I just silently cried at the corner pretending as if I am doing something else. My cousin invited me to do hiking so what I did, I accept my cousin's offer to do hiking and trekking. I challenge myself for me to burn more fats inside my body. It was really hard and tiresome as my body was so heavy that I have difficulty climbing the mountains. It was very tiring but worth it. I began to exercise more after that and for me to lose my weight fast, I took diet pills with of course diet and exercise since I cannot still fully manage it though I don't recommend diet pills instead you can take food supplement. I stopped the pills when I began to lose more weight and manage my eating habit. Now almost lost 30 kilos for 10 months and now I am still continuing my everyday routine. I am more motivated to work out and exercise as people really impress by the change I made for myself. You can eat one egg in the morning (boiled egg)and avoid food such as fatty foods, oily foods, rice, sweets, bread, junk foods and softdrinks. You can taste them but only a little bit for your crave satisfaction.

I learnt about OMAD here on postloop sites. It is eating just one meal a day. You have 23 hours of fasting and one hour window to eat. This is a very easy way to cut down weight. Try it.

In connection one needs to do exercises. You need to take plenty of fluids to avoid dehydration.

Have you ever heard of the OMAD Diet. OMAD stands for "one meal a day". Many who use it are claiming success.

I also struggled for a long time with weight loss until a friend recommended a very effective weight loss program that helped her lose weight even if it seemed like an impossible mission for her. This program https://www.modernfit.com/programs/noom/how-noom-stacks-up-vs-weight-watchers/ (and its app) can help your friend to identify and choose foods that promote weight loss. Weight loss is a complicated process so he needs to have a well thought out and easy to implement a plan and this can be done by your friend with the help of this program.

Always knew and liked such threads, because self-made and self-proclaimed experts will start running their knowledge and experience on a such deep level, that will leave many people speechless here. People don’t waste time on things related to health on doubtful persons that can give advice with correct and helpful desire but will lead you at the end to harm yourself instead. Use bmi calculator instead and individually get a program that will suit you and will be the best to gain the right results. Hopefully many others will do the same.
