How many cats is too much?

My sister in law has two grown cats and two kittens. I have been telling her that four cats is too much but she won't listen. How many cats is too much to own?

that is not too many. I have known others that have had a lot more than that. As long as she takes care of them that is all that matters.

Four cats is not too many. I have ten and I do not think that it is too many but I also keep the house very clean.

It's easy to care for cats and keep the litter boxes clean and have a nice smelling house, especially if you confine all litter boxes to just one area, such as a laundry room or where ever is out of the way, but easily accessible to the cats. Just one question though. Do you find that there is more fighting with so many cats in the house? Just asking as I noticed there was a lot of fighting with our male cats when there were more than three in the house. These were all sibling cats.

That's not really a lot. My grandmother had 12 cats because her two oldest female cats had litters very close together.

She was able to give most of them away but some stayed with her.

LOL we do have a lot of fighting. But we have a big house so they are able to run. It is a lot of work but they are so worth it.

I think 2-3 pets it too much. If you have two pets from same gender, they must be fighting each other.

I agree 2-3 pets enough because main issue is to take care them perfectly. They are really depends on us to stay safe and good.

I think 2-3 cats are already too much, probably because I'm not really a cat lover I just like them being around for some reason. Cats are cute I'll admit that sometimes the cuteness seems a little bit too much like the time I did play with my cat then suddenly he just harrowed me then I got this long scratch marks. For me 2-3 cats would be enough.

No I don't think 4 cats is too much as long as taking very good care of them won't be any problem for her. I have come to realize that cats enjoys companion, so therefore, the more they are in number, the better and comfortable they are with one another.

Although some male cats can be territorial in nature when it comes to their mate but other than that, they are quite comfortable staying together in one apartment without any problems.
