Photography - make extra money by selling your photos!
To start earning from taking pictures all you need is a decent modern camera and the ability to catch the right pictures. These can be anything from simple objects and nature pictures to modern urban city photos.

Best cheap DSLR you can buy in 2016: Canon EOS 100D - it costs around 400 dollars and it may not have all the features top level DSLRs have like touchscreen and fast focus, what it does offer are quality pictures and a low price which is perfect in my department.

So if you already have a DSLR laying around, put it to work and earn some cash! If you don't have a camera but you are passionate about photography, invest in one and start earning!

This is really a good idea. I know there is an app called "foap" where you can post your pictures and people can buy them and then you make money!

I would definitely need a really good camera though because i dont think my phone would cut it

This is a great way to make money i have alot of scenery and mountain ranges around me. Especially this time of year with all of the foliage. People would probably go crazy for these pictures. My Iphone is a great camera i use it all the time and it takes great pictures. I had no idea that you could sell pictures on listing dock this is news to me! Four hundred dollars is quite a start up for a new business but if you can get some photos sold and maybe book a few photo shoots it could pay for itself fairly quickly. Thanks for sharing

Are your iPhone pictures really that good? I have a 13MB camera on my LG G3 phone, although sometimes I capture fantastic pictures, I still think a professional DSLR camera can make a difference and produce more professional pictures.

Its amazing! I have to take my case off of it thought or else its blurry. Its only 8 Mega pixels but the phone must enhance the photos because they look amazing. I would use this to start off rather than for a thriving business if you don't have the $400 but have an Iphone 6s you may be able to make a few bucks before taking it the next step. I think if you use a program like Photoshop or Lightroom you will not even see a difference in quality.

I don't know what you think of these photos but I believe they are fantastic.

Both of them is taken with my Sony Xperia Z1 compact. - If I could sell something like this, then I would be up for it. However, I can't really see people buying these kind of photos.. But I'm not into that industry at all, so I can't say much about it.

Do you think anyone would pay something for photos like this? - And how would I be able to attract clients?

I can't just create a service for 1 photo. Or can I? - To be it seems like I have to provide 1 client with 1 unique photo, and never sell the same photos more than once.. or am I wrong?

I would appreciate any input on this as my girlfriend is one helluva great photographer, even though she's doing it like a hobby.

I would say make post cards, Greeting cards this kind of thing. List a few photos on listing dock with watermarks it costs nothing to list and try! These photos are amazing quality thanks for sharing them.

That's actually a pretty decent idea. Thanks jkeyz2, I appreciate it! - To be honest, I've never thought of it like that at all. I've just thought of a photo as a photo and nothing more than that. Which is also the reason I've never had any good ideas on how to sell them. A post card or something like that would be pretty amazing actually. That way, I'd be able to use the same photo multiple times too.

The questions that remains are..
  • Would it be a lucrative business?
  • And would people want to buy things like this online?

Perhaps I can spend some time outside the box on this one.. Thank you.

I posted an image of my daughter on Instagram the other day and I have had people ask me if they can use that image. One person was a friend of mine so I said ok.

I'm not sure I would want to sell pictures of my kids but this image was taken just with my cheap Samsung phone a few meters from our house. We were playing on the beach and my daughter was captivated by the wild flowers growing on the path up from the beach.

I was quite amazed at the reaction people had to it.

So why am I saying all of this? Well the best photos I have taken have not been on the day I have gone out with my camera to take pictures, it has been those surprise moments!

I have been searching high and low to get a place where I can sell my photos. The problem is I have generously posted them all over the place. I wonder if I can still sell them.
In the meantime I may still have photos which are in my image folder. May be I could just try them.
Thanks for bringing this to my notice and wish me luck.
I have a DSC H50 Sony digital camera and it gives me good pictures.

This is interesting. I have a DSLR and recently I'm thinking of how can I make use of it since I'm not that a traveler. Maybe this could be a motivation for me to go and snap some good pictures. I hope that these things are welcome on this site. I would love to try it.

I am a hobbyist photographer. I take a great pleasure in taking pictures. I do street photography, landscape photography, portrait photography. I also enjoy doing wildlife photography, however, I have not done too many wild life pictures. I also want to try my hands on fashion photography.
I have a great collection of pictures. I use my own pictures with my online articles. However, I have never tried to sell my photographs. Thanks for sharing this great idea.

This is probably a great tip even if you're not that professional enough, like you can just edit your photos and make it more professional and then you're good to sell your photos right away. For me, all photos in different kinds of forms or shots can totally be sold because not all person in this world are the same, they have different taste in terms of foods and so does art. So, It's probably possible to sell photos even though they're not that good enough.

I have actually tried to sell my photos at various sites with little success. On some sites, my photos have been rejected despite the fact that I took them with a good camera. On other sites, I am still waiting for someone to purchase them. One can definitely make some money by selling photographs. Maybe I can try my luck here.

Great idea. Stock photography is a perfect way to make money online. I never knew you could make money by selling your photography on listing dock. I will try that, that's a brilliant idea. I normally try other stock photography sites online where I sell my photos and make passive Income from them. I still earn money from photos I posted three years ago. The trick is to find out what's in demand and the requirements for a great image. It's not as simple as simply snapping an image and selling it.

I'm interested in photography and am a novice photographer. And I really want to learn how to make money on it. But I can't yet choose the best direction to shoot. So I look at the types of photography ( here https://shutterreleaseworld.com/21...-of-photography/ ) and don't know which of them will bring me the most income. And I also need to find out good stocks where I can upload my photos so that as many people as possible can see them. Also, I need to earn a customer base so they can buy my photos. Thus, I came to the conclusion that food photography is well paid and probably I will move in this direction. I thank you for the article.

Well, that's a great idea. I can tell you from my experience that you can take impressive shots without having any expensive equipment or special apps. All you need is your phone, creativity, and courage to post them on social media. Also, If you're a beginner, you should try Instagram. It's a very nice app for editing and for making money by selling visual content. It has a lot of useful features like automatic likes to instagram posts , auto scheduled comments and views that will boost your popularity, thus raising your income.

That is really interesting. When I was younger, I used to participate in different similar projects. I was passionate about photography, but I wasn't a professional in this field. That is why I didn't manage to win any conquest. Still, after passing some photography courses and reading some lensespro articles on the internet, I became better. I am still an amateur in this field, but I hope to start working as soon as possible.
