If it were a birthday party, then I would buy a cake and some nice decorations or festive table decor. So the cost would be around $100 for everything. It would just depend on how many guests we were having and how much food was being served. Though mostly, we only have small family gatherings, so it's not very expensive for a birthday party.

Depends on what kind of party it is. Last year for Halloween me and my husband spent close to $900 for party supplies, food, candy, and props.

Ugh! My son, Colbie, just hit the big number 5, and his birthday cost... ooohhhh... I'd say approximately 150+. I rented the big social club for three hours, ($40)so the kids could run around, plus I got him a kick a** Spidy cake ($60). We had hotdogs ($30). I had a pirate treasure pinata filled with goodies ($55). Plus we had treat bags for all of the kids ($20), and for the next day I rented the bowling alley which was $30.

Wow... I'm way off on my math skills...lol
230+.. Oh yikes..lol

But we had loads of fun, that's the main thing...lol

I usually do not keep track of what I spend for parties. I agree with naturalwriter as long as you have fun that is the main thing.

For party and occasion I try to reduce the expenditure. But for health & education I use the money openly.

You only live once, so every now and then you should splash out, and if it is a party for close family and real friends, then don't worry about the cost and think of the enjoyment.

Actually I'm not a type of person that usually celebrates his or her birthday so I rarely spend for it not because I don't make it a special day but I guess different people different perspective. What important to me is that God is there and he knows what are my goals and aspirations in life and he will help me to achieve it to make it a dream come true. It is important also for me that I still have some good health and I still live in this world trying to learn from what the earth can give and what the environment may bring. Life is too short and time is so fast but I'm thankful for everything that I have achieved and will be achieve in the future. God bless everyone and thanks.

I think that should depend on how much I have at that moment in time. This is because you won't expect someone to spend above what he can afford just to impress friends and families during a birthday party. However, I won't spend more than #10000 in a birthday party that I would be organizing for friends and family unless someone would be willing to sponsor me in a way.

Celebrating birthdays are good but having to go broke and hungry after a celebration is not the best way to go about it.

What I spend in any birthday celebration is directly dependent on how I make off and on work that particular month. So therefore, if I have excess turn up in a particular month, it would definitely influence the amount that I would map out for my birthday party celebration.

The same is equally applicable when I make less cash on and off work in a month. I would probably budget around #15,000 to #20,000 if my monthly earning isn't positively influenced.

The last party was for my little cutie, I just wanted her to have an amazing party so I went all out for her, I don't really account but a big chunk of the amount went to that party and I was happy that it went that way.

This depends on what kind of parties it is. The last party that I organized was rice feeding ceremony for my six months old baby. I spent around $500. However, spending this kind of amount in parties does not happen too often. generally speaking, I do not organize many parties.

It's been a few months since I've been through this, and, in retrospect, I've put together a list of things that aren't worth investing as much as marketing executives want to do. This requires a little preparation with those loved ones and a wedding lighting company in London, a photographer, and it's perfect. But not everyone has the same tastes, others want a big wedding to brag, others make it small because this is more important for them, only loved ones.
