Perfect Boiled Eggs Every Time - Finally!

I don't know about you but I have never ever been able to make boiled eggs exactly how I like them or how anyone else likes them. I struggled to find really good no fail instructions.

A few months ago I was searching yet again for how to make my boiled eggs and I came across a method I tried out that came out perfectly. I have been using it ever since and It has not failed me yet!

Ok so here's how it goes.

Keep your eggs in the fridge. When you want boiled eggs you take the eggs straight from the fridge into the pot and cover the eggs with tap water so that it covers the eggs by 1cm.

Put a lid on the pot and put it on the stove on high. When the water starts boiling take the pot off the heat and set the time for how you want your eggs.

4 minutes = runny eggs
6 minutes = soft eggs
8 minutes = hard eggs

When the time goes off remove the eggs from the hot water and put them into cold water immediately so they stop cooking.

Enjoy!

LOL Jkeyz2 I am really glad to be able to help you... and yes until recently I was also doing it wrong all the time. So many different instructions online, some saying you must keep your eggs room temperature, others say you must chill your eggs. Then the water, some say boiled and some say tap water... I always justgot flustered and wrecked them every time.

I have been using this method for a few months now and never a mistake. Everyone in the family gets their boiled eggs to perfection LOL

Thanks for that Info. I do like boiled eggs, especially here in the Philippines, there's a type of delicacies which we called, "Tokneneng." It's a hard-boiled egg with cornflour and food coloring (orange), then deep-fried. There are a variety of sauces but The special sauce that I liked is made with vinegar, sugar, onions, and cucumber. It's very addicting to eat and I'm sure, you'll love it too. Perfect Boiled Eggs Every Time - Finally!

I never heard about that before. I will look for this recipe on the internet. This is something very different. I wonder how it tastes like. Today I have learnt something new and I will prepare this for my family. This will definitely surprise them. I will try this during the weekend. I will have to look for the exact measurements on the internet.

That's interesting. I have used eggs only to make omelettes or egg salads so far. It is always nice to try new recipes. I hope that it comes out well. How do you call that sauce?

There's actually no name of that sauce. It's just a regular sauce that contains, vinegar, salt, pepper, sugar, onions, cucumber, etc. I'm not entirely sure the exact recipe. Maybe, when you find a recipe for Tokneneng, it also comes with the recipe for the sauces.

This is actually a good tips but my own way of cooking it is boiled it in a pot then wait for the water to boiled then add another 5-6 minutes before it's officially done. I guess I'm cooking it in a wrong way XD. I think the way I cooked it with no lid on the pot makes more time consuming and slow to cook.

I've never had a problem boiling eggs before. I always keep mine in the fridge (not sure who doesn't?). I just take out two or 3, boil them in water and normally when the water has dissipated enough I turn them off, let them cool and then shell them. Before I eat them.
